Yes, I think it's a fantastic point you make that life - far from being anything remotely like life - in Ireland and also over here in England, was really no more than existence for most people in those times. It's why we in the UK are so protective of our universal healthcare; we have all had relatives, who were alive when we knew them and asked them questions, who had either lived in those conditions, or remembered those who had. Their parents' generation. It's why we frown upon those who bleat about being 'poor' - for the vast majority of us even now, if you have a roof over your head and food on your table, you already have everything you will ever need.
I am baffled why James C didn’t ride the success of “Titanic” and make a movie about these senate hearings. And the British inquiry too. That would be a great movie.

This is very thought provoking - love the way you juxtapositioned world events that lead up to the conception of the Olympic Class ships of the WSL. I would love to see you tackle 2 of the biggest controversies through testimony & get your thoughts on 1) did an officer shoot passengers before the final plunge and commit suicide and 2) the breakup of the Titanic.... Excellent content, now on to episode 2 😎 kudos!
The song I use as my theme is from the White Star song book. When survivors say "Autumn" they were likely referring to this piece. But there are other less likely "Autumn"s that may have been played.
Carpathia went directly to New York, docking there on April 18. Ironically, rather than using the usual Cunard berth, Pier 54, she used Pier 59, where Titanic would have docked, before returning to Pier 54. This is, by the way, an easily checkable fact.
The most shocking piece of information is probably that the U.S. Senate reacted as quickly as the next day.😂

That sequel should begin with the breathtaking race of the Carpathia to reach the Titanic sinking site. It's actually not too late for him to do it...

Didn't the survivors go to Nova Scotia first. The Carpathia took them to Halifax. You honor and glory people are just theorists as well.
No.
Survivors went to NYC. You may be confusing them with the recovered bodies which DID go to Halifax.
