You can proceed to the video without any prior knowledge but if you want to draw into your digimaps files I recommend looking into some 2d drawing techniques in Rhino. A useful series of introductory tutorials can be found here: ua-cam.com/play/PLHven0OVvQqUImfzF5re2w3LaK3DKek_j.html&si=Fnd9lZ5hsEeAfOKy
Hi Tom, there is a slight issue that I thought you might help me with. When I import Digimap Topo and Building Height in Rhino, building height won't sit on top of the Topography, it sits actually by some distance and I was wondering if you could help to sort the problem.
Hi, the reason for this is the building height models take into account the landscape variations of the ground. If its very slight I usually just move the 3d data down to the topography. If it's more pronounced you may need to model the 3d landscape and then project the 2d topography data of to this surface - I have a video on creating landscape from contours that should help with this
Hi, when I'm scaling the road is 6.9m in top view, but it's 2mm in the site plan. Since I don't need to rescale my top view how do I get the plan to be the right size?
Hi Funso, this sounds like you need to set the scale correctly in your layout view. This can be found by selecting the frame around the drawing on the layout page and setting the drawing scale in the properties menu
Hello Tom, great tutorial, do I need to watch all the 2D tutorials before I proceed to this video?
