oh my god...this is awesome...I am writing my thesis and I needed topography plan of my site plan and in order to get that, I traveled to the city that my site plan is there and went to its municipality to get the CAD plans because they were not in the internet. and now this website is giving it for free and it's just few clicks away and it's so precise!! thanks for introducing it
Hey Arman! Great timing, that's for sure :D You're welcome, it's a great tool and not that known, so we thought that sharing it would bring more people using it :D
@@HowtoRhino I have a question. When I want to up roads, I don't have these xyz axis coordinates. It's difficult to move up roads directly up without this tool. How can I turn these axis on. P.s. perhaps it's very dumb question, but I'm completely beginner
Hi there, Thanks for the video, this is exactly what I'm looking for in my projects and I might go down the path for Rhino instead of sketchup for CADMAPPER. What extrude tool did you use to make the roads taller? I've downloaded Rhino 7 and I can't see an option to extrude? I only want to use Rhino for CADmapper only; would your patreon video tutorial for cadmapper be enough or do I have to learn Rhino from scratch? Thanks.
Hey Edgar, If you want to check out our Rhino for Architects 2.0 course, please reach out and send me an email at dusan@howtorhino.com and I'll tell you a lot more about it there and share the course platform with you as well! Cheers! :)
I wanted to download Tokyo (Ginza) for my university project but sadly CADMAPPER only knows the height of 1% of the buildings. Now it looks kinda flat and unrealistic. Does someone know what I can do or where I can find a better 3D model? Thanks and greetings from Germany xx
Hey Mario, Thanks! Glad you like the tutorial! If you'd like to take this a step further and have a complete step by step approach in learning Rhino and Grasshopper that includes our personal coaching, you may want to check out our Rhino for Architects 2.0 Course! Please reach out and send me an email at dusan@howtorhino.com if you're interested and I'll tell you a lot more about it there and share the course platform with you as well! Cheers! :)
great stuff. if i do the patreon thing, is their a way to find out which videos i would need to see to get roads, water and so forth to show up for 3d printing?
@@HowtoRhino okay, I will look for the reply from you. On another note, how did you make the script in grasshopper? In the tutorial, you never mentioned how to do that.
@@maurice0822 Ah I see, for some reason, I didn't include the Grasshopper file. It is reuploaded now and you can just download it again from Patreon and use it :)
My highways and roads all imported at the same height (highways should be above the roads). Any way to fix this error or do I have to manually adjust the heights of the highways?
Hey Jacob, this really depends on the city / data you get. All of that information is "baked" within the whole Open Street Map project, so if they are not on the correct heights in the file, that's probably because there's no other data on it to give it those heights, so your best bet is to manually place they to the correct levels :)

Hi, when I set object shading for road. It does not work. Any way to fix it? Thanks!
Make sure that the shading you set is the corret one :)
kinda sucks when your site doesn't have any 3d buildings
Yes, that's true! :D
