You’re wish list is why I love my F30 335i MSport rwd. It’s relatively light, rear wheel drive, 300 hp never overwhelms the rear wheels unless you’re being stupid, the front wheels are only worried about turning not trying to power the car and with 300 hp it’s that perfect hp rating for the street.

I ended up buying a 2022 430I m-sport after watching this video, I was never a beamer guy but this car was so beautiful to me, I love the car, but I am now saving up for the M4 Comp. What an amazing machine. I have been meaning to thank you MOTOMAN, so here it is THANK YOU!

Congratulations my good sir!!I am in the market for that car as well and I’m wondering Should I get a 430i or a 2022 LT1 Camaro? Truth is I just don’t want to be underwhelmed by 430 power yet that’s the only trim lvl I can afford :( . I come from a 328i e90. Is your car fast and fun?

@@wr8thbeatz322 Thank you! I have not drove a Camaro so I would not be able to compare, but I will tell you, I absolutely love driving my 430, the take off on the car is amazing. Yes, the car is super fun to drive, especially in the mountains. The handling is top notch. I would suggest test driving both cars beforehand. Cheers!

It's amazing that BMW managed a 50:50 weight distribution on the E46 330i but somehow made the smaller-engined 430i nose-heavy.

I currently drive a 228i M Sport with the Dinan Stage 1 upgrade and have been thinking about moving to the new 2021 430i and adding the Dinan kit. I believe the horsepower moves from 255 to 300plus and torque is also around 300 pound feet as well? Given that the Dinan kit runs in the $2k range and the 4 cylinder's weight is 500 pounds lighter than the M440i 6 cylinder with X drive, it's a cost effective option for extra power and fun.(I do not have any affiliation to Dinan....just a happy customer). Also, with regards to the leather option you liked in this video, leather is beautiful but can be prone to showing wear on the side bolsters as we all know. The BMW SensaTec is super durable and on my 7 year old car, it still looks like a new interior. Comfortable too.

Overall, I love the car and the front grill really grows on you. Without a front liscense plate, the 4 cyl speaks to ATTITUDE. In contrast, the M440i has SERIOUS ATTITUDE. I'm an old traditional purist by saying, who needs all wheel drive in a sports car anyway. All wheel just takes the fun and handling skill out of it. To that end, a manual transmission would have been even a greater option even though the 8 speed automatic is excellent quality and almost rivals a PDK Porsche.

Car & Driver was very critical of the dynamic inadequacies of the M440i. Stylistically it's a mess suitable only for Bugs Bunny 🐰 Watch Frank Stephenson's review, he penned the McLaren P1 among other cars stating this Bimmer is "Good from far, far from good"

The M340i (RWD) would probably be the better car to get. It’s has the wonderful inline-6, less polarizing styling, lighter than the M440i due to RWD option, more practical (4-doors), and cheaper than the M440i.

I don't know about the US but here in Germany BMW already offers the M4. If you buy it without the competition pack you get a manual rwd 480 PS (353 kW) 4 series for a base price of 84 000€ (about 100 000 USD)

Adding lightness to a good chassis adds driving magic...I got used to the front, still I am not in love. I had the prior 4 series which was light and a 420d for a while, that was driving awesome, funny enough it was white too and black leather inside and manual! only the engine noise was a drawback though. But I remember well that many times I was walking away from the parked car and turned around because it was so good looking - "it was drop dead gorgeous car".
I would go with Kumo and go with the M2CS in white :)

      - 500cc per cylinder. You customize as you like accordingly(in theory)
      - BMW brough block from their diesel line up(almost close block). Super strong, can stand so much boost
      - air-to-water intercooler that placed in intake manifold
      - Toyota itself said to Jason Engineering Explained that they tested themself, both 4(4x500=2.0l) and 6(6x500=3.0l) cylinder. They both passed toyota reliability's test. Hence they used both for their supra
      - Toyota spend years to make the next 2jz and they said they couldnt make any better inline 6 than B58
      - Papadakis racing boosted so high, it reaches thousands horsies in his oem B58 block. His tim won drift world cup btw

@@yahtadi5152 Your points are valid and understood. However, it is not just BMW who realized that 500 cc is the ideal displacement per cylinder. Look at the 4-cylinder 718s and the 6-cylinder 992s (the 4.0 GTS is the odd man out). Check out Mercedes and Audi. They have been building engines by the same principles. I would certainly wait with declaring "the best engine of the decade" without having any long-term (>100 K miles) reliability experience with these powerplants.

@@tamasszabo8824 i dont have to. B48 already won best compact 4 cylinder engine, so did B58 as best engine the world last year
On the other hand, M2xx series for mercy is using boost to achieve every peak they targeted, the only marvel was they claimed to achieve best thermal effieciency to compensate with those sky high boost. Then months later Toyota dopple them down as they claimed to achieve 40% thermal efficiency with new so called Toyota Dynamic Force. You can find all details for both, on Engineering Explained channel
And the one, Consumer report reported Audi as the most unreliable manufacture, with majority complain came for A4
So no, they both didnt do same thing as BMW(in terms of engine)
No idea for porsche tho, but i believe.. Its already too complicated to even compete with, note: not to complicated in terms of mechical, but architecture, layout, proprietary here and there and so on. It aint even running on everyday vehicle tbh. Superb engine nonetheless
While this, holds best engine in the world award and Toyota is using them for their master icon product. That says it all to be honest

I agree with virtually everything you said in this video. I don't know why the Germans can't follow Alfa's model and have an AWD system that is 100% RWD until power is needed upfront for grip. I'm glad that you mentioned the pricing on the 440. That was a rather large omission in the previous video IMO as that simply isn't a 70K car. I was disappointed to hear about the understeer of this car. If I wanted an understeering car then I would buy something FWD.
I don't personally see the appeal of the M2CS, but that's just me. Otherwise, outstanding review.

I've got a 2020 330i xdrive G20 and if you put the car into sport mode and putting the shifter into sport mode it really makes the car feel quick . Plenty quick enough for the road and plenty to get in some trouble. I drove both the m340i and the 330i back to back and for me the extra money didn't make it worth the extra power to me using the car as a daily driver. The 330i xdrive is a great car and of you want more power it's super easy and cheap to tune this car and will add some really good power.
