Rosalie is my favorite character in the movies. She barely talks, looks the best, and her fighting skills are a mystery because we haven't seen much of it. I hate that in the movies we didn't see her fighting much.

While everyone pawned over Bella being such a "relatable" character, I was more drawn into Rosalie's story, because she is The Only One who is bluntly honest with Bella and makes the most sense out of all the other characters. She has valid points that everyone else just dismisses. She's not only beautiful, but she has such a brilliant mind too. That's what I loved about her. I had always hoped that there would just be a book on her, but that never happened.

Im a 28 year old guy and i love fantasy part of twilight. Vampires, wolfs, how they have powers, volturi, etc. I dont care that much about pathetic love story. Rosalie and Carlisle are my favorites. Very loyal to her family and never tasted human blood. Best part in book is when she is under car, doing some mechanic stuff and Emmet is handing her tools. Best mechanic, studied Medicine so she can help Carlisle, best musician after Edward. Rosalie is such badass.
Seriously, if Meyer wrote a book series about LITERALLY ANY of the side characters and actually focused on plot, she could have made something much better. There's so much potential for spin-off series in the Twilight universe and she doesn't seem to utilize her own potential.
She was actually writing twilight from Edward’s perspective, but the manuscript was leaked and she stopped. But she did release what she wrote on her website some years ago. I wished she has finished the book because it was much more interesting than twilight.

I would love a book about Rosalie - the PTSD she likely suffered after the assault, how she got revenge on her rapists, dealing with her trauma in order to be able to trust and build a relationship with Emmett, adjusting to life with the Cullens and immortality... I think it would be a much darker and more interesting story than Bella and Edward.
Nothing against Bella and Edward, I enjoy their story, but the side characters are what I love so much about the twilight saga, they're all so interesting! I'll never understand why Stephenie never wrote separate books about them, they'd do so good and with an epic, badass rape-revenge-story like Rosalie's she'd probably gain a lot of respect from those people that made fun of her writing. Carlisle, Esme, Alice, Jasper, The Denali Sisters, Victoria, Benjamin, Siobhan, etc. also have such interesting backstories, it's just so much wasted potential. You should really do a video about some of them :)
Actually there is a book it is called "The Twilight Sage: The Official Illustrated Guide" It has backstories of the majority of character. It is a really fun book to read.

Midnight sun was meant to be a start of a series from the vampires POV, starting with Edward and his turmoil and then Alice and so forth . But stephanie ended up putting more energy into the hosts movie debut and I guess forgot about midnight sun after it was shown to the public.
Like no offense to Rosalie, but like she's an immortal, rich, unfathomable beautiful young woman semi goddess, with a loving husband and a great family, yea she cant have children, that's sad, but elsewhere people are literally dying and/or living like animals. Instead she stuck with those memories living immortal life. I bet she'll get bored of living, as vampire, probably ask to be killed.
A mistake they made in the movie adaptations was focusing the storyline on Bella & Edward's journey, when they could've made the films more expansive and interesting if they focused on the characters that made up the coven. It would've been better if we followed the Cullens trying to survive as a family unit rather than Bella & Edward's journey as a couple. I think this would've given the final film a bigger impact, and we would better understand the eventual rivalry between the Vulturi and the Cullens. If we are honest, the story of the family as a whole is a lot more interesting than Bella's individual story. If the story had been told through Bella's experience of this family, and joining them, then that would've been better as a watching experience, because every character has a really intricate and amazingly written backstory, there were a lot of missed opportunities to really take the series to another level.
I love Rosalie's character so much, I think she's such an extremely interesting person! Though her backstory is so sad and tragic, the way she took revenge is super badass. I would actually love to have a movie/mini series/book about Rosalie to find out more about her human life, her relationship with Royce, the trauma that she probably went through after the assault, how she killed her rapists, how she managed to trust Emmett again after being hurt in the past... that's why I think her love story with Emmett is so ordinary, they really must share such a pure and true love if Rose is able to be with him after everything she's been through, they were also described to have such a physical relationship, so she must really trust him. And I love the fact that she stood up for Bella in Breaking Dawn. Even though it was probably largely for selfish reasons and a part of her possibly wanted Bella to die so she could keep the baby, she was still the only one that fought for Bella's choice to keep the baby. Edward and Carlisle literally wanted to tie Bella down and abort the baby against her will, so it's a good thing that Rosalie stopped that, even if she just did it for selfish reasons. I'll never understand why Stephenie Meyer created such an interesting character and then did absolutely nothing with her. She should've written a spin-off series about the Cullen's backstories.
I always saw part of her reason for helping as this: she felt Bella had the right to chose about the situation, rather than have an outcome be forced on her. Rosalie didn't get a choice to be a vampire and it was forced on her. Selfish reasons were definitely there too but I think some part of her genuinely wanted to help Bella too because she sympathized with having changes forced on you and having no way to fight back.
Just there’s something I don’t like about Rosalie in the movie, In the beginning she spoke about Royce as something good, then when you see the scene of him looking other woman, C’mon. 🙄
@@SPS0501US The way I interpret the scene is that was incredibly obvious for most people to see that Royce was not a good guy, but Rosalie was too naive and too lovestruck to see that. She believed that Royce was a good guy and that they would have the future together that she always dreamed of, and probably didn't see the warning signs (and if she did, she most likely ignored them or found excuses). Let's not blame her, let's blame the rapist.

What makes me sad about the Twilight series is Stephanie Meyer actually crafted detailed and interesting characters and had a pretty unique supernatural universe with distinct characteristics, yet it is overshadowed by Bella and Edward’s boring, toxic relationship. Some of character backstories and world building were absolutely amazing! I wish she would have made a series that went more into depth about the vampire world.
Here’s the thing, she has created a entire supernatural world that needs more exploring honestly. She needs to continue the story and focus on other characters.

I love Rosalie because she's a badass, and she brings a bit of reality to the saga, she's like the only character that calls out Bella's non sence. Rosalie can bring a different perspective, she was abused, turned into a vampire against her will(Carlisle did it with good intentions, but still sad) and lost all of her dreams of having a normal life, with her own children Leah reminds Rosalie in the sence of how she also brings a perspective in how losing the power of making decisions in your own life can change your personality and perspective for life. Both Rosalie and Leah dreamed about normal life with children and lost it all when turned into vampire/warewolf(Rosalie has to see Bella having the choice she never had, and Leah has to face everything she couldn't have and be traped with a bunch of people that hates her Again why does Twilight presents a bunch of interesting characters and focus of the most boring of them?
There are some short films that were created called The Storytellers: New Voices of the Twilight Saga and four of them focus on the backgrounds of Alice and Carlisle.
I actually kinda wish Meyer would do a spin off of their backstories, Edwards side of the story, and I kinda wanna see more of Bella as a vampire ( I kinda wanna see if they go back to high school after Renesme is grown up or move away and travel the world etc,) I feel like there should be more for them! Honestly, in this age, I don't really think having to move and go to high school to keep up appearances would be all that necessary. Especially living out in the country like they do. There's Carlisle's job as a doctor, but I would think he could transfer to different hospitals after a time. I just can't imagine going to high school forever.
@Hunnie Huang That's not necessary, though. At least not in every circumstance. They live in the country, they're beyond wealthy, they don't even like people for the most part, not being at school whenever it's a sunny day because they'd out themselves if they did. A few of them suggested Edward kill Bella because her presence was an inconvenience, I don't see how them attending high school is safe or smart. I know Meyer wrote how it's best to stay in one place longer, but they could just as easily do that by Carlisle doing his thing at the hospital, Esme would make the occasional work Christmas party, and they wouldn't tell anyone about the others who for their parts wouldn't have any interest in Forks, anyway.
I love Rosalie since day 1, no doubts about her period- at all. She was never a bad person from the beginning. She was a normal human beginning, who wants a normal life. Till this very day, she's still a nice girl with a great heart, desire, and knows how to stay out of trouble. That's why I consider her my #1 favorite character in the Twilight series.

It was for both reasons actually ... at first she was mad at Bella because Edward showed interest in her and Rosalie previously thought that he doesn't have interest in any woman. She didn't like Edward that way but she was used to being wanted by everybody, so it hurt her that Edward wanted Bella but not her. She got over that pretty quickly though. She was also mad at Bella because she was a potential danger to her family and because she couldn't understand how Bella would throw her human life away.

Yes, I completely agree! I definitely would have. After the books were released, I would love it if Netflix or Hulu did a series featuring the characters backstories. That would also bring some revenue too, and cause a new generation of fans to become invested in the Twilight series.

She was one of the most loyal and protective members of the Cullen family, a most notable example is that the main reason she was afraid of Bella joining the family is because she didn't want to risk people knowing about them being vampires and subsequently put the family at risk entirely
She's definitely self centered. Edward says as much in midnight sun when he describes what her thoughts are like. She also was only concerned about how Edward falling in love with a human would affect her life, hated Bella partly because Edward was attracted to Bella and not her, and refused to help in the cover up following the incident with James that would help protect her family because it involved helping Bella, who she hates. She cares for her family, but she absolutely puts herself and Emmett first.

Being raped really effects your self esteem badly, her vanity and being so resentful that Edward wasn't attracted to her comes from her self esteem being broken to pieces and being raped for her beauty. She doesn't value herself enough to think about the beautiful parts of her, she focuses so much on her looks because she was raped for them. Rape makes you hate yourself and feel like you don't own yourself so you may put so much power into the way you look because it's the only thing you have 'control' over. It's very natural for her to feel angry over the lack of attraction to her because her self esteem was damaged to the point where all that mattered about her was that she was beautiful. She resents being immortal so much, it's a difficult relationship because everytime she sees herself she is frozen intime, and reminded of everything she can never have, the only thing she feels she has not had taken and violated from her, is her physical beauty. Just from the perspective of a r victim, that's my take on her vanity, she's hyperfocused on them from trauma, i've thought alot about this as i have similar feelings about my self-image, it comes from severely damaged sense of self and the feeling that you've had everything stolen from you. Also a feeling of 'I'm so damaged on the inside, I shouldn't be this beautiful yet somehow I am'

Actually in midnight sun , Edward claims that rosalie is not his sister. It's a bit complicated but they didn't show to the outside world that they were all brothers and sisters.
Some of y’all are really taking this too far. 1st off, Jacob wasn’t being a pedophile. Do you really think the author would intentionally write that in her books? “Jacob is gonna imprint and have sexual thoughts on the baby.” NOOO. In the books, Jacob clearly only wants to be a protector, brother and friend to Renesme. Even in BD Part 2, Edward says he’s happy that she has him. AND Jacob knew if he even thought of her that way, Edward would’ve been killed him. He wasn’t gonna rush her to 18 so he can shoot his shot. He just wants to be there when she needs him. On top of that, he said she doesn’t even have to be with him when she’s older. It’s her choice. This shows that y’all didn’t read any of the books.. If you read the books, you’d know that Carlisle is a very compassionate person. He’s a doctor ffs. He saw a girl raped and beat to death and decided to save her. He hates the idea of killing and people dying. Hence why he became a doctor and a peace maker. Not only did he save her from death, he also assumed it would be beneficial for Edward since he didn’t have a mate. Plus, it was the 20th century. Courting was a big thing back then. So of course Carlisle thought of setting them up together. 🤷🏾♀️ This new generation needs to stop over analyzing everything and taking things out of context.

I watched through the movies not too long ago and poor Rosalie, man. Watching Bella literally live the life she always wanted, and then even watch her have a baby AND become a vampire so she can love said baby forever. It's like Bella got all the benefits to life that Rosalie wanted and tried to tell Rosalie her life sucked haha

Like no offense to Rosalie, but like she's an immortal, rich, unfathomable beautiful young woman semi goddess, with a loving husband and a great family, yea she cant have children, that's sad, but elsewhere people are literally dying and/or living like animals. @@danielk246 Well look at her point of view. She never got to choose that life of being a vampire. All she wanted to do is have a family and grow old with a person she loves. Instead she stuck with those memories living immortal life. I bet she'll get bored of living, as vampire, probably ask to be killed.
A mistake they made in the movie adaptations was focusing the storyline on Bella & Edward's journey, when they could've made the films more expansive and interesting if they focused on the characters that made up the coven. It would've been better if we followed the Cullens trying to survive as a family unit rather than Bella & Edward's journey as a couple. I think this would've given the final film a bigger impact, and we would better understand the eventual rivalry between the Vulturi and the Cullens. If we are honest, the story of the family as a whole is a lot more interesting than Bella's individual story. If the story had been told through Bella's experience of this family, and joining them, then that would've been better as a watching experience, because every character has a really intricate and amazingly written backstory, there were a lot of missed opportunities to really take the series to another level.

I love Rosalie's character so much, I think she's such an extremely interesting person! Though her backstory is so sad and tragic, the way she took revenge is super badass. I would actually love to have a movie/mini series/book about Rosalie to find out more about her human life, her relationship with Royce, the trauma that she probably went through after the assault, how she killed her rapists, how she managed to trust Emmett again after being hurt in the past... that's why I think her love story with Emmett is so ordinary, they really must share such a pure and true love if Rose is able to be with him after everything she's been through, they were also described to have such a physical relationship, so she must really trust him. And I love the fact that she stood up for Bella in Breaking Dawn. Even though it was probably largely for selfish reasons and a part of her possibly wanted Bella to die so she could keep the baby, she was still the only one that fought for Bella's choice to keep the baby. Edward and Carlisle literally wanted to tie Bella down and abort the baby against her will, so it's a good thing that Rosalie stopped that, even if she just did it for selfish reasons. I'll never understand why Stephenie Meyer created such an interesting character and then did absolutely nothing with her. She should've written a spin-off series about the Cullen's backstories.
I always saw part of her reason for helping as this: she felt Bella had the right to chose about the situation, rather than have an outcome be forced on her. Rosalie didn't get a choice to be a vampire and it was forced on her. Selfish reasons were definitely there too but I think some part of her genuinely wanted to help Bella too because she sympathized with having changes forced on you and having no way to fight back.
Just there’s something I don’t like about Rosalie in the movie, In the beginning she spoke about Royce as something good, then when you see the scene of him looking other woman, C’mon. 🙄
@@SPS0501US The way I interpret the scene is that was incredibly obvious for most people to see that Royce was not a good guy, but Rosalie was too naive and too lovestruck to see that. She believed that Royce was a good guy and that they would have the future together that she always dreamed of, and probably didn't see the warning signs (and if she did, she most likely ignored them or found excuses). Let's not blame her, let's blame the rapist.

What makes me sad about the Twilight series is Stephanie Meyer actually crafted detailed and interesting characters and had a pretty unique supernatural universe with distinct characteristics, yet it is overshadowed by Bella and Edward’s boring, toxic relationship. Some of character backstories and world building were absolutely amazing! I wish she would have made a series that went more into depth about the vampire world.
Here’s the thing, she has created a entire supernatural world that needs more exploring honestly. She needs to continue the story and focus on other characters.

I hate Rosalie. She is a selfish bitch who is constantly whinging about wanting to be a human, but then if Bella want to become a vampire than she is wasting her life, yet she stole Emmetts life. She is very self centered doesn't care about anyone but herself. There are many infertile women in the world but they dont spend 100 years whining about it. She never did anything for anyone apart from herself. Even when Bella was pregnant, Rosalie only helped keep her alive because the thought that Bella would die anyways, therefore Edward would commit suicide and the baby would be left to be cared for by Rosalie

I love Rosalie because she's a badass, and she brings a bit of reality to the saga, she's like the only character that calls out Bella's non sence. Edward just go with the "i'm a monster, you deserve better than be like me", Jacob only hates vampire and basically calls them zombies during the entire saga(lmao). Rosalie can bring a different perspective, she was abused, turned into a vampire against her will(Carlisle did it with good intentions, but still sad) and lost all of her dreams of having a normal life, with her own children
Leah reminds Rosalie in the sence of how she also brings a perspective in how losing the power of making decisions in your own life can change your personality and perspective for life. Both Rosalie and Leah dreamed about normal life with children and lost it all when turned into vampire/warewolf(Rosalie has to see Bella having the choice she never had, and Leah has to face everything she couldn't have and be traped with a bunch of people that hates her

She did write Edward's side of the story. It's called Midnight Sun.
Honestly, in this age, I don't really think having to move and go to high school to keep up appearances would be all that necessary. Especially living out in the country like they do. There's Carlisle's job as a doctor, but I would think he could transfer to different hospitals after a time. I just can't imagine going to high school forever.

They live in the country, they're beyond wealthy, they don't even like people for the most part, not being at school whenever it's a sunny day because they'd out themselves if they did. A few of them suggested Edward kill Bella because her presence was an inconvenience, I don't see how them attending high school is safe or smart. I know Meyer wrote how it's best to stay in one place longer, but they could just as easily do that by Carlisle doing his thing at the hospital, Esme would make the occasional work Christmas party, and they wouldn't tell anyone about the others who for their parts wouldn't have any interest in Forks, anyway.

I love Rosalie since day 1, no doubts about her period- at all. She was never a bad person from the beginning. She was a normal human beginning, who wants a normal life. Till this very day, she's still a nice girl with a great heart, desire, and knows how to stay out of trouble. That's why I consider her my #1 favorite character in the Twilight series.
When watching the eclipse the almost 9 minutes of Rosalie and Jasper's story were the best done minutes in the film.

It was for both reasons actually ... at first she was mad at Bella because Edward showed interest in her and Rosalie previously thought that he doesn't have interest in any woman. She didn't like Edward that way but she was used to being wanted by everybody, so it hurt her that Edward wanted Bella but not her. She got over that pretty quickly though. She was also mad at Bella because she was a potential danger to her family and because she couldn't understand how Bella would throw her human life away.
She was also jealous that Bella gets a choice(to be a vampire) because in all honesty the one thing Rosalie ever wanted was a Family(child)

Yes, I completely agree! I definitely would have. After the books were released, I would love it if Netflix or Hulu did a series featuring the characters backstories. That would also bring some revenue too, and cause a new generation of fans to become invested in the Twilight series.

She was one of the most loyal and protective members of the Cullen family, a most notable example is that the main reason she was afraid of Bella joining the family is because she didn't want to risk people knowing about them being vampires and subsequently put the family at risk entirely

She cares for her family, but she absolutely puts herself and Emmett first.

She doesn't value herself enough to think about the beautiful parts of her, she focuses so much on her looks because she was raped for them. Rape makes you hate yourself and feel like you don't own yourself so you may put so much power into the way you look because it's the only thing you have 'control' over. It's very natural for her to feel angry over the lack of attraction to her because her self esteem was damaged to the point where all that mattered about her was that she was beautiful. She resents being immortal so much, it's a difficult relationship because everytime she sees herself she is frozen intime, and reminded of everything she can never have, the only thing she feels she has not had taken and violated from her, is her physical beauty. Just from the perspective of a r victim, that's my take on her vanity, she's hyperfocused on them from trauma, i've thought alot about this as i have similar feelings about my self-image, it comes from severely damaged sense of self and the feeling that you've had everything stolen from you. Also a feeling of 'I'm so damaged on the inside, I shouldn't be this beautiful yet somehow I am'

Actually in midnight sun , Edward claims that rosalie is not his sister. It's a bit complicated but they didn't show to the outside world that they were all brothers and sisters.
Some of y’all are really taking this too far. 1st off, Jacob wasn’t being a pedophile. Do you really think the author would intentionally write that in her books? “Jacob is gonna imprint and have sexual thoughts on the baby.” NOOO. In the books, Jacob clearly only wants to be a protector, brother and friend to Renesme. Even in BD Part 2, Edward says he’s happy that she has him. AND Jacob knew if he even thought of her that way, Edward would’ve been killed him. He wasn’t gonna rush her to 18 so he can shoot his shot. He just wants to be there when she needs him. On top of that, he said she doesn’t even have to be with him when she’s older. It’s her choice. This shows that y’all didn’t read any of the books.. If you read the books, you’d know that Carlisle is a very compassionate person. He’s a doctor ffs. He saw a girl raped and beat to death and decided to save her. He hates the idea of killing and people dying. Hence why he became a doctor and a peace maker. Not only did he save her from death, he also assumed it would be beneficial for Edward since he didn’t have a mate. Plus, it was the 20th century. Courting was a big thing back then. So of course Carlisle thought of setting them up together. 🤷🏾♀️ This new generation needs to stop over analyzing everything and taking things out of context.
