Your videos are the best crochet instructional videos I have found on UA-cam, Thank you for going slow and making it so easy to follow. Plus your voice is very soothing, I could fall asleep LOL.
Thank you so much!! LOL , don't fall asleep! hahah I love that it is soothing. That was my goal. I want people to be able to feel at ease. it can be stressful to start and learn but man once you get going it really is a stress buster for sure! Thanks for your kind encouragement - Kristen
I totally agree! There are some very good crochet videos on UA-cam but yours are the best, I’ve had the most success when I’ve followed you than with anyone else...thank you!!
So glad I found your videos. My mum was just started to teach me a month before she passed away and so we never got to get very far but I have been so determined to learn as my mum has a few unfinished projects I'd like to finish and your making this alot easier for me to learn and I'm really enjoying it. Just wish my mum was here to see how far I'm coming along with it all.
Aww that's so sweet 💖Your mum would be so very proud of you and I hope you got your projects finished or at least started. It would be so good if you did. I'm only just learning though and it's so very tricky to start.
Omg the slow motion replays are everything I needed!!! My autistic brain CANNOT understand those super-quick movements sometimes. I'm learning so much!!!
Hi. Thank YOU so much for this tutorial. You're one of the only people I've seen in crochet videos who explains the turning chain part in such a detailed way. That's where I always used to go wrong with my crochet squares. Not anymore, thanks to you ❤
Thank you so much for these beginner tutorials. All of the other videos I watched were confusing and hard to follow until I stumbled upon yours. The editing, camera quality, the pauses, the slow motion shots and your clear instructions are making this learning experience fun instead of stressful. So thank you!
You give the best explanations! I’ve been crocheting for over a year and I still get tripped up over the turning chain stitch and how it differs from the second to third row. Thanks for the tutorial :)
I am a very young knitter and I enjoy it a lot. People told me that crochet is easier than knitting. I got some hooks and oh boy! I’ve learned how to crochet in less than a day because of your help! People aren’t lying, you do have the best beginner crochet tutorials from what I’ve seen. P.S. People say crochet is easier than knitting. Idk because I’m a very fast knitter and I find it pretty easy.
Ive never been able to do until now. My mom knew crocheting knitting etc but was horribly abusive. I feel like by doing this i can finally accomplish something.
I think I'm agreeing with everyone else and your videos for beginners are the only ones that make sense to me. I think if you want to start, start from the beginning through the stitches like this or none of it makes sense. Thankyou for helping me start my crochet journey 😁
Thank you so much for these videos! Definitely helped me better than the other ones I’ve watched. Your instructions are clear, your voice is soothing, appreciate you not adding music, also the slo mos are super helpful! Looking forward to learning the others stitches with you!
Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for. My husband is always cold no matter the temperature is set on. I can start now cause he's in the hospital. After watching you I now have the confidence to make it.
I love your videos as well! You are such a great crochet teacher. I tried other videos but they weren’t as good. You explain things to a T and in way I can’t undersatnd and explain different ways to do things while crocheting!
Nicole starkoniski You are so kind, thanks for your encouraging words 💞 I’m so glad it helped you! Be sure to check out the rest of the series. There is so much more. I hope you love it all. ❤️❤️
You are awesome. Thank you. Your voice is perfect and the tempo is perfect. Explanations are a plus that will help with remembering what to do to keep the rows straight. 🎉
I’m so glad you found me then! 💞💞💞🎉 yay for learning crochet! Btw tomorrow morning a new crochet video comes out. I’m fact all of November is crochet!!
I had some idea of how to do HDC but your tutorial has helped a lot. I have made double bed blankets using granny squares but now I can make another using HDC. I will come back to you for help with other crochet stitches. Thank you very much.
At 5:50, why do we skip the first stitch? When I skipped it I found it creates a slightly bigger hole at the end of every row but when I tried putting it into the first stitch, it looks uniform. Thanks!
thank you so much for your videos ive been wondering why my crocheting projects didnt turn out well but your videos have helped me a ton so thank you so so much
So I've made many attempts to learn crochet over a few years. I've always given it up as a bad job, because it always got too complicated for me, and I got frustrated. Then I found your videos, they are the best that I can find for explanation, and moving slowly through the stitches. So thank you. This half double stitch is still a bit of a mind bender for me, but I've got the gist of it.
I am so glad I found your youtube videos! I decided I needed a new hobby and wanted to start crocheting. I bought some books and couldn’t figure it out. I watched several different videos and stumbled upon yours. I think, by far, your videos are the easiest to follow and they explain everything in a concise and clear manner. Thank you so much! I love my new hobby!
So many tutorials take it for granted that you will know how to work with the turning chain. I couldn't get my stitches right for the longest time even with counting. I will definitely seeking out your tutorials from here ^-^
I SO HAPPY I FOUND YOUR CHANNEL! To be honest i have watched lots of channel and i ended up rewatching them several times due to confusion. But your explainations, camera work and all are very clear!! Thank you for these!!
I was advised to take up a hobby to help with anxiety! ❤ thank you for giving me the inspiration to start! So thorough and straightforward! I appreciate you!! Starting tomorrow
Where were you years ago! I'm just getting back into Crochet and need a little refresher...you're awesome and so easy to understand and thorough! thank you!!
I have been watching so many videos about why my crochet edges were coming out wonky and you are the only one that explained working into the turning chain! Thank you so much!! 😭💕
Thank you so much for this! I have several videos saved for reference/learning as I'm a new crochet-er ( I've only got a couple of foundational stitches in my skill set) I have had trouble with my edges not being straight when I work Hdc. Even trying to put a SC border on didn't really help it. I watched lots of videos, checked out lots of google/pinterest results and no one was saying to account for the turning chain in any way. I found that I when I followed your instructions for adding that stitch at the end of the row and then on the next row going into the 2ND stitch...it works perfectly. My edges are straight now and I am much happier with my work.
Thank you! I just gave up (temporarily) on half double because I didn't understand how to work the turns without changing the stitch count, and you clarified what I was doing wrong. T.T Also I love your voice.
Oh I'm so thrilled to hear that! Such a bummer to struggle through and I'm so glad you were able to power through. Way to go!! :-) Aww thank you for your kind words. I hope you check out the other lessons in the series as well. There is even a fun interactive calculator for planning your on c2c blanket patterns! -Kristen
Thank you so much for posting such a detailed video for this stitch! As a beginner I’ve searched high and low for a proper demonstration of how to include the turning chain at the end of a row, and until I found your video I was always making triangles instead of squares! This has completely solved my issue and I finally understand. You are an excellent teacher ❤️
I love your Channel thank you so much for your care, patience, detailed descriptions and great tips ! ! I have made my first crochet piece other than a straight chain!
Hi! I'm happy for watch your video. I tried to find a channel about how understand this tecnic. I don't understand english because it's not my lenguage but your explain is so clear that I don't need it. thank you for all. I suscribe!
Thank you for your easy to follow videos. I have tried to learn to crochet numerous times and just could not do it. After watching your first video I have finally understood and I can't thank you enough for this! Your teaching style is super!
GoodKnitKisses you can count on it! I’ve watched at least two of them so many times that I feel like we’re friends 😂. Would you be kind enough to tell me what type of yarn you’re using? The yarn I’m practicing on is medium worsted 4 but it’s a little “fuzzy” if that makes any sense.
Sure! It is Red Heart Chic Sheep. I have a link in my video description. Usually they are to the blog which will give you info on yarn and hooks as well as a pattern if there is one for that tutorial or instruction for your stitches. I hope that helps for future tutorials, too. ☺️ I also caption my videos if needed. Have a great week new crochet friend! 💞
Thank you so much for the video!! You make them so clear and helpful, your series is the only one I can follow out of all that I've found on youtube, and I can't wait to continue to learn from your channel!!
Way to go!! I’m so glad to have helped on your journey to learn. Oh yes! Please do keep going and follow along. I’ve released several more crochet videos this week. I do mix it up on this channel but be sure to check out my crochet playlists or search the channel for what you need as I might already have it.
I have followed you for my looming for quite some time now. I love your tutorials. You do such an amazing job showing things down & explaining the correct way of doing things. With that being said ive decided to give crocheting another try. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. 😊
I watched at least 5 other channels to learn how to crochet. You were the one that resonated with me and that I could follow. Thank you sooooo very much! 💜💜💜 now I’m learning allllll the stitches! I’m in love with crochet!
Wow, thank you! WAY TO GO!!! You got this. Be sure to check back for more videos and visit my crochet playlists for more when ready. So proud of you for not giving up!
I love your videos! I have mastered the single crotchet thanks to you and have successfully made 14 squares for my new cardigan. I am having trouble with both the half double and double crochet on where to do the last stitch of each row. I understand that you need to go into the turning chain from the previous row and I feel like I’m doing it correctly but my squares always end up turning in to trapezoids. any help would be appreciated!!!
Thank you so much for this beginner series! In doing the half double and double crochet, I’ve been noticing a gap/hole where my turning chain is. Do you mind going over how to avoid this?
I'm a bit late, but I've found some videos where they don't skip the first stitch. This eliminates the hole, but makes the edge zig zag a bit. A different video shows how to get straight edges. The woman demonstrates with a double stitch, and at the end before finishing the final stitch with a single loop on the hook, she stops at two loops and puts an extra stitch in the same hole, before pulling yarn through three loops to finish them together. I'm not good at explaining it, I call it the 'two-in-one' stitch, but I've tried it and it seems to work even when I modified it for other stitches.
Hi! :) At 5:54 in the video, why do we need to skip the first stitch? When I try it at home, it seems to create a big gap in the area of the first stitch and I don't know what I did wrong... Thank you for your videos, I love them! :) Best teacher ever!
I am very glad I found your channel! The HDC is a little confusing when I get to the chain. In other places, I see that they start the first HDC in the first stitch after the turning chain. Does it mostly depend on the pattern?
I love your videos so much and i just wanted to ask why i may be ending up with large holes at the turning chains when i go to the next row. I believe im going into the correct stitch because I end up with the correct number of stitches by the end of the row but the holes still happen. Thanks!

You're explanation is so good, thank you for making videos to help us learn!! ❤️
Turn your hook slightly to the side. Works for me.😊

Do you need to do The thing you do at the end to avoid it from growing wider or shrinking at every end or just the first two ends?
The slo mo part is very helpful😘♥️
The slomo is rad! Helps so much 😄
I love your videos!
Your videos are so wonderful! You do such a great job of explaining and making things simple enough for everyone to understand. Thank you!
Thanks for making this so easy for me.
finally understood the last stitch! thank you so much ♥️☺️
Thank you so much for this beginner series! In doing the half double and double crochet, I’ve been noticing a gap/hole where my turning chain is. Do you mind going over how to avoid this?
I’m having this trouble too. Big gaping holes from skipping that first stitch

I am very glad I found your channel! The HDC is a little confusing when I get to the chain. In other places, I see that they start the first HDC in the first stitch after the turning chain. Does it mostly depend on the pattern?
Your videos are perfect, and I adore them. Thank you for your awesome content.
I love your videos so much and i just wanted to ask why i may be ending up with large holes at the turning chains when i go to the next row. I believe im going into the correct stitch because I end up with the correct number of stitches by the end of the row but the holes still happen. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your videos! They have helped me so much!
Thank you for giving us a perfect view and close-up of how its done🤗!
Really enjoyed your video. One of the best teaching videos!
Thank you sooo much!! :-) I'm so glad it helped and I hope you were able to catch the other lessons as well. Happy Crochet! -Kristen
