- OMG if only you knew how many times I tried to reload this video! Trying to do a voice over with an uncooperative program was something else! I am so happy to finally be able to share it with those of you who are new to our channel. Mariam's Traditional Fulani/Yemi Alade inspired hair style was so much fun to do . It reminded me of living in Northern Nigeria as a child. I feel so blessed to share my memories with my teenage daughter. Video was originally recorded last year (2017) and the voice over done a few minutes ago. This style may not be for everyone but it is an opportunity to try something new and expose her to some African history and culture. Feel free to Share this video with your friend, sister or daughter. God Bless xoxo -Habiba
Here is the music video by Yemi Alade that inspired me : • Yemi Alade - Ferrari (...

Im west african, my mother is fulani and everything you said in this video is true and gets me a bit emotional.
Im thankfull that someone that far away gets that knowledge and accuracy of a part of their roots. I say "a part" because thats what it is in your case and this is what makes me that proud of you and your message (even if its just hair).
Sharing and carrying our different cultures all around the world is key, im all about that.
Im somehow so emotional about this video. Thank you Habiba, may you and your family be blessed.
(Sorry im not englophone, i even dont speek english 😅, just learned it for a few years)
Thank you for watching and for your kind words! God bless you
All you said is true I am fullani from futa
Assma Dao are you from Cameroon?
Asama Dao. You write English a lot better than some native born speakers.
Habiba is quite in touch with her root... we don't often see this with some of our African folks abroad. I'm so loving your videos. And thanks to your supportive husband. He appears a good gentle man with a huge sense of humor too...
Am glad u didn't forget ur culture. Well done doctor. Thank u for making us a proud Nigeria.
Wow Habiba, can't believe you're so resourceful & industrious for a medical practitioner. You're really a gem!
Need I say, Mariam looks really beautiful!!!!

Thank you so much for this! My grandma was Fulani and I have always wondered how to do the inverted braid. You've helped me so much
Awesome ! Thanks for watching and check out my other hair tutorials or family videos ( -"
@@Kenton-Habiba I will! I've subscribed as well. :)
Mariam just patiently indulging Mummy 😂. She's just so sweet. Habiba don't you just love having a daughter! And about people saying Mariams skin tone not like Fulani...there are many Fulani that look like her, especially when mixed with the Shuwa Arabs who are also native to Northern Nigeria. Beautiful! All you need now is the Fulani milk maiden outfit...the one with the crop top and embroidery, and you have another look to create some more lovely memories
Awww!! Mariam looks like a Fulani doll!! ❤️❤️ So beautiful!! Dr. Habiba is there ANYTHING you can’t do??
I wonder , smart beautiful loving daughter, wife and mother . Kenton you toooo lucky . I'm happy you have this channel so your daddy can see her baby girl.
Am just loving your daughter more. As a mother with 2 boys and one girl too. My daughter who happens to be a bookie and introvert would have asked me like 10 times (mummy are you done) walai...
Mariam sat calmly like (here we go again mama at it) much love and hugs to her. And she sure looks like a pretty fulani, would give a zillion dollar for that hair and texture(DNA of hausa curly hair, jamaican full hair, vietnamese long hair) beautiful blend.
I am a typical West African woman but l don't know how to braid l am proud of you l wish I can braid , well done my Habiba 🇬🇧🇬🇭👍
Cute and impressive . This is real Fulani hair style . I must say you’re a versatile 👍

VERY NICE MOM AND DAUGHTER bonding around cultural expression....priceless!!
Mariam is so lucky. When my daughter was her age, I had no clue on how to style her hair. She looks gorgeous. I don't understand why her fair complexion should prevent her from wearing this hairstyle. Where is that written?
Habiba, you have all sorts skills. I came for the Jamaican black cake recipe, but am now hooked on your channel.
Thank you!
My daughter is 14 and look like Mariam with the same kind of hair. I don't know how to do her hair but she figured it out by watching UA-cam

Miriam reminds me of my eldest sister. Same coloring same hair except she had green eyes. We are a very mixed race family I would say rainbow people from all parts of the world.
Maryam is Beautiful Fulani.. we also have Fulani in my country (Guinea-Bissau)
By the way, Fulani or Fula people can be found anywhere in West Africa especially in Nigeria because they are Herdsmen. They work with cows.
