- This time of year is busy for all of us that have 2 properties - double the maintenance and projects. On top of the deck project, we have our lake property that needs to be seen and lived at, and worked on. We spent a couple of days there doing just that! I had an intrusion scare there for sure but I think things are ok! That was a near disaster for sure.
But there are a couple of new things on top of the deck disaster we are now dealing with, and one is pretty bad. Poor Steve.
Lots going on here these days, and the deck project is just taking longer and longer, but we will get there!
I appreciate you tuning in, and see you in the next video :)

-As an orthopedic surgeon I have both done and had lumbar surgery. Tell Steve that he will surely get relief from that procedure.
My father had done and it was a game changer.
As someone that has been dealing with back issues for well over 40 years, I can tell you that stretching everyday, and I mean EVERYDAY, goes a very long way in staying pain free. I crushed a disc in my back to the point where it pinched off my spinal cord, they removed that crushed disc in September of 1978, and as long as I stretch everyday, I am totally pain free. I am not a doctor, so I can't say it will work for everyone, but it sure works for me. I wish you and Steve all the best.
As a fellow back pain sufferer I agree with this statement.
And will add if you find ( a good deep tissue massage therapist)
unfortunately they are not all the same, they can work wonders.
Everything works better and feels better when not in spasm.
I agree and tell Steve to stretch all the time!
Ditto, as a fellow back …… I’m in PT right now for the lower back pain. I was a volunteer firefighter in PA when a barn beam fell from 20’ above hit my lower back and pinned me to the floor. I’ve got bad disks and stenosis down there T12 L1 area. BUT I cannot give up building stuff, so the battery operated heating/vibrating Velcro belt is getting daily use. The arthritis in both my hands is killing me but with compression and ice gloves, i make it another day. I am so inspired to get back outside and build cabin like ( sheds ) structures, similar to your cliff side cabin. Keep up the fantastic work and video’s.
44 years ago i started videoing my building projects, being a licensed remodeling contractor in Delaware back then, i discovered that projects took 2-3 times longer because of the camera work. No you tube back then, just AOL, who recognized my social activity on their building forms, and they asked me to be a permanent moderator for them. BUT, not having full time, time to do that, i thanked them and respectfully said no thank you.
Damn, imagine if i kept up with the video’s, I’d be a You Tube millionaire by now. Lol.
Same here. Stretching and a hard foam roller are the only things that keep me mobile. I roll out all the snap crackle and pops as soon as I get out of bed. When I do get a sprain, I wear a tight lifting belt until it heals, the destructive spams happen due to the instability of your core. I find tricking my body into thinking I have good abs and obliques with a belt really settles them down :)
Stretching will not fix the problem, go look up what she said, sick of morons
Praying for Steve and speedy recovery ,also bless the doctors nurses and staff 🙏🏻❤️
Lady of the Lake 👍
Hi Michelle, My name is Roy and I just found your channel by chance. It brought back great memories working for Dale Foote, tailing on his sawmill. Dale trained me well. I was green as grass when he hired me, and I remember his words well; Dale said to me, " Roy, my job is to make that mill spit out sawdust, that's how we make money. If there isn't sawdust spitting out of the mill, then we aren't making money . Your job is everything else it takes to keep me spitting sawdust from the mill." That was the best training session I ever had and those great memories came back watching your shows. I did the same as you with the slabs for firewood. Thank you and keep on spitting sawdust !;)P.S. I pray that Steve's back gets better... an inversion table works for me, just a suggestion.. God bless you both and your beautiful family of furry friends.
Hope Steve feels a lot better. In my 40's I used to have to roll out of bed onto the floor and grab the window ledge to pull myself up. Just terrible bad pain. I don't know what happened, but it's gone now. Yep, Steve's walk brought back memories.
Добрый день!
Привет из Санкт-Петербурга, Стиву крепкого здоровья!!!
I feel bad he has that pain. I am living with the same thing.
As a sufferer of back issues, I can relate ! Steve is a tough man ! He will be in our prayers 🙏
Always enjoyed Japan. Was stationed in Okinawa for a year, and 2 years in Iwakuni. Just not enough wilderness and snow for me, so Alaska is the perfect place for me.
WELL MICHELLE, CLYDE JUST WANTED TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR STUFF FOR YOU. AS FOR STEVE I'M PRAYING FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY. BE SAFE AND GOD BLESS YOU AMEN.
Michelle, be sure to let Steve know that we all are rooting for a successful surgery and recovery for him! Also, it's good to see the doggos are living their best lives!
Good luck to Steve with the surgery. Spinal pain is simply awful.
Praying that Steve will have a good outcome with his surgery.
I had surgery in the US 2 1/2 years ago. Fully recovered. Steve will be fine.
I suffer from cervical stenosis, so I know what Steve is going through. Praying for the absolute best results for him. Thanks for all your informative videos and keep up the good work. Don`t over do it!
Prayers for Steve and best wishes for great results from his surgery. ❤
I saw the suggestion of making bat boxes. With your creative talents, I'm sure you could fashion those slab scraps into some awesome bat boxes.
I wish you and Steve the best with upcoming surgery.
Wishing Steve a good surgical outcome and a full, and speedy, recovery 😊
All the best for Steve and his surgery, sending positive vibe to all of you.
LOVE the red flannel, we in Ontario call that a Kawartha Lake dinner jacket! Had a red and green one back in the day. Glad to see Steve is back safe and sound 👍
Wishing Steve and yourself good luck with his surgery.
I wish the best ... I had my spinal column closed up on me.. One month in wheel chair and then had the operation. They had to open up my column, luckly I walked out of the hospital after the surgery.. Tanh God for the surgeon that helped me .
Here’s to a successful surgery and a speedy recovery for Steve! 🍻
Prayers my friends, and they will continue from SE Texas Love you guys Michelle, tell Steve Hey and prayers -Bear
💙❤💯🙏 and all the fur babies as well :)
Good Luck to Steve with his surgery ! I believe he will ultimately be fine 🙂 because he is so strong mentally. Fingers crossed 🤞
You should make some bat boxes and put them up around your property to hopefully entice the bats to go there instead of back inside your cabin walls. If you don't know, a bat box is basically a bird house but for a bat.
Good luck with the surgery, hopefully it's very routine and has a speedy recovery.
Yes that’s a good idea!
Hi Michy, best of luck to Steve for his back surgery. I’ve had two surgeries on my back starting in 2002 and last one in 2021. You have to keep in the back of you head that you just can’t do what you used to. I’m 71 now and doing great so Steve again best of luck to you and Michy
Ruptured a disc in my back in the summer of '69. Now it's 50 years later and sciatica is so bad it is insane. I will be watching intently to see how he fares; my prayers go out for him.
The kind of work you are doing there will break down a man twice your size. Please be patient with yourself and let your heavy equipment do all the lifting.
Praying for Steve to have great results from surgery, and quick healing. God Bless.
I hope everything went well for Steve and I have never seen a harder working lady 😊
Kitty rules! Woohoo shopping trip! 🙏 for Steve , have a safe trip!
Wishing you & Steve all the best with his surgery. Hope he will be back on his feet pain free as soon as possible...
Hope Steve is on the mend by now stay strong and positive.
You’re very beautiful. God bless you and Steve and sending prayers and hugs 🥰
We have an American Bulldog or Staffordshire Terrier and she rather enjoys chewing up shoes, remotes, my computer mice (plural lol) plastic bottles, wood from our fire wood, window sashes among other things, but we still love her! My wife has chronic back problems so I'm really feeling for Steve as I know what he must be going thru. We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers this next week and hope he gets some relief from all this. Hang in there lady. You're amazing!
Thank you my friend! Clyde doesn’t chew anything now, it was really just a stress thing. Actually now that I think about it, many of the rescues we’ve had over the years have gone through a chewing phase, due to stress, but none of them chew anything now.
Clyde could chew anything, and I would love him the same no matter what. We love our pets, don’t we!?! 🥰
@@michygoss7148 ❤❤
good vibes sent to Steve...
Well big thanks to Steve for taking the time to share with us. Hoping his surgery fixes all his pain problems, yes he is very right when he said a hottie came in the room. Your mom’s shirt looks good on you well I think you probably make anything look good.
Yes moving stuff to get to other stuff is a big pain in the wood shed, metal bin was the same way till I put up racks to be more organized. Hoping all goes smooth sailing in the next week for Steve and you.
Thanks for sharing the adventure
Praying 🙏🏻 for Steve ,you Michelle, and the Pups 🐶 🐾, 🐈⬛too 😊 my friends 🫶🏻 Stay safe and take care 🙏🏻God Bless 🙂 Appreciate you!
Best of luck to Steve, be well soon!
As for you Missy, don’t pretend you’re superwoman and injure yourself and you need to stay healthy. Godspeed.
Best wishes for Steve's surgery. You take care too, don't work too hard. Most tasks will wait a bit for your attention. At least the newcomers in the siding went to bat to help out. 8^) Cheers!
Men just love to take things apart because fixing things is so rewarding. I love doing it until parts that are made cheaply fall apart
I wish Steve a successful surgery and a full recovery.
To create flexible shelves to store lumber you could attach ropes to the rafters in a loop with various lengths to create a cradle for wood at various levels below the rafters.
It looks like the pups are enjoying themselves and can't forget Southgate. 💗
For your woodshed: I usually see them made of metal but I have seen wooden ones. But a board at 90° to the wall without an outer leg is the best solution for storage. Can be done with outer leg if you want to end load. Leave a foot or 2 between and go as high as you can comfortably reach.
Praying for Steve to have a speedy recovery. I love your content. What a wonderful life, despite the challenges.
Good Luck with surgery Steve. I've had 4 back surgeries unfortunately the last two were termed Failed Back Surgery. This was 20 years ago and I'm still getting along with things. Wishing Steve well with everything.
Indeed, you are my wonder woman: beautiful, slim, fitted, powerful, determined and... lovable!❤
Sunday morning can't come soon enough. Anticipating some of your softly spoken voice-overs. They have a very soothing effect......😌
I really like your singing in the previous video. More please!!!
I always enjoy it when you treat us to a surprise appearance from the menagerie of Michygoss characters!!! 👏
Hope all is well.
☮️ on 🌎
I had my spine broken 5 different times. and one day I couldn't walk any more.emergency spine surgery. my heart goes out to Steve. if he ever needs to chat with someone who knows give me a shout. love u both..I also lived on my boats for 21 years. I'm a salty guy.
Gosh. That sounds awful. He’s done but it’s been a very rough recovery so far. The surgery was double what we expected, and recovery 10x worse than either of us expected. But, hopefully each day gets even just a little bit better 🤞
He does have the best nurse taking care of him though 😊
Hi 👋 , amazing view of sun and mountains ⛰️, I thought I had seen a mermaid in the lake, 😂, it was Michelle, 😂, a lot of hard and heavy lifting as surprising you haven’t got a bad back or I’ve done damage to your back, I hope Steve’s operation is success and a speedy recovery,
France,
That Steve, what a chatter bug. lol. Talking about his trip to Japan kept me on the edge of my seat. I really hope and pray that all goes well with his back.
Good luck with everything! My old man suffers the same issues. He's nearly 60. Currently they are looking at implanting a Spinal Stimulator into his back. Crazy stuff!
All the best to Steve on the surgery and recovery!
Sorry to hear about Steves back troubles. Good luck on his surgery, he has a great nurse at his side to help him. God bless you both. You will be in my prayers. 🙏🙏
Steve is extremely fortunate...to have a top notch RN to help him thru this.....hopefully he has a speedy recovery. Is amazing what they do now days. My wife has had r back surgerys, 15 years apart.....now 71 years old...and will not retire, after 30 plus years as a Custodian and Commercial cleaner. She says it hurts (physically) to quit working. I am thinking of getting her a new push mower...as she will not drive riding mower....LOL !!!!
We have a push mower at home, and I like that. But out there, it’s a whole different can of worms. And we get spend so little time out there as it is, reducing the time spent maintaining the weeds has become a welcome change 😁
As a trucker i suffer with back pains whenever i relax. When i am active it goes away.
I hope the surgery hels.Steve.
Best wishes to him in a seedy recovery.I can’t think of any worse pain except pregnancy but that’s something I won’t ever experience thank goodness 😂😂
For wood storage use thicker stickers between planks so you can get fork lift tangs in. Then you can simply lift off the pile to get to the choosen plank. Racking doesn't work unless you have narrow long space.
Thanks for video content.Really enjoy them, well polished show. And heres to Steve getting back to full strength soon.
Fingers crossed for Steves surgery. I look forward to seeing the next videos with him healing up nicely.
Poor Steve!! Back issues are horrible, but mechanical and can be fixed!!! By now he is probably on the road to recovery!! Tell Steve to heed the doctor's advice when he says not to push it and to take the time to recover. My doctor told me that if patient pushes too hard, too soon, the back can't heal properly!! Looking forward to seeing Steve in relaxed recovery!!! ❤
Guano (bat poop) On a much more serious note, hoping that Steve's surgery went well and that he's pain-free soon. Back pain is the worse.
Prayers for steve, back pain sucks.. good thing he has a hot mama to take care of him... yall take care, and give the the fur babies a hug...
Owning multiple properties is a lot of work, any way you slice it! Hope all goes well for Steve. Thanks for another great video, take care!
I certainly can relate to Steve's issues, I have Ankylosing spondylitis, different to what Steve is going through, but unbearable pain at times, please send my best regards for a successful and speedy recovery, Love your videos!, Thanks for sharing!
I have the same mate. Gotta just keep going!
OH MAN TONS OF WORK YOU HAVE!!!.... HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH STEVE!....GET WELL SOON!
It's inspiring to witness the herculean effort you devote to your many projects. And also Exhausting!! I need a nap. lol Hope Steve is recuperating comfortably.
My dear friends, may you're travels be safe 🙏 and a speedy recovery to Steve. Hello to Clyde the pups and Southy. Stay safe and well ❤
I want to tell you good luck with the surgery, Steve. And a speedy recovery.
Hi Michelle. My wishes go out to Steve for a quick recovery soon. As always you look gorgous. Things and projects never end. Great video. Stay safe and happy.
Wishing Steve all the best and a fast recovery from Naramata. 👍🇨🇦
Michy.....don't go all gettin human like on us now. You are a hero to many.....including me, so stay strong my friend. 😊
Oh man, I hope he finds relief! I've minor back discomfort and I can't imagine that level of pain.
I hope Steve has a successful surgery and speedy recovery. It's hard to see people in pain.
Your a pretty cool woman! Been a joy watching you and your hubby the last few years!! 🙌🏼 good luck Steve😁! Just a set back in life.
Sending a lot of good vibes to Steve on successful surgery on his back. Michelle, you are a rockstar. ❤
I think Clyde was saying "get well soon Steve" and "thanks a lot for sharing my fun chewing experience".
He was actually barking at the septic truck that was there when we had our septic tank pumped. Haha
Sincerely hoping that Steve gets sorted out next week.
All the best to both of you.
As Southerner, I appreciate the "Yall".
Get well soon Steve
best of luck to Steve with his surgery . My brother has the same ailment . That Clyde is a real character .
Yeah, a rack for your wood is a great idea. In the style of kayak racks, but with sturdier support frames. Pole frame is fine. Preserve your good lumber well.
I wish you the best in your surgery Steve. I know everything will be good in time. Do what the doc(and Michelle) directs you to do and heal well and fast. Michelle, be strong. You're an amazing wife and woman and your strength and patience will shine through. I wish you both the best and we are all here to give you support. And may God's healing heart be with you.
Hoping all goes well for Steve🤞🏻🤞🏻👍🏻✌🏻Love the panoramic view footage of where you live .... it's very special! Take care Michelle & Steve🐕🌲🍁🏘🚜🌞
Praying for the best possible outcome for Steve.
Love that old hound dog. ARF, ARF to you too my friend.
I wish you and Steve a quick return to normal functioning. Back to trivial problems, to fun situations, to walks with the dogs. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
I've had bats living under my eaves for years. Haven't had a pest problem for years. Best of all, there are very few mosquitos, which is awesome for a house in a pine forest, next to a slow moving creek.
Prayers for Steve and you that the surgery goes well and he has a good recovery. Hang in there you two.
Safe travels, tasks, and recoveries on this side! Keep hitting on those hotties Steve!
Love that flannel shirt. It's so classic. Stuff like that is coming back. Very clever way to cut spare wood. Hoping that Steve fully recovers. Do worry about the addictive effects of the morphine and Percocet. Understand why Steve has the surgery in the US -- the Canadian waiting list is unreal.
Good luck Steve. Don’t push it after the surgery. You don’t want to reinjure it.
Steve's sense of humor is great and will help in the surgery recovery. You are certainly a wonderful helper, with your medical training, and my prayers are that this "season" will strengthen your relationship together and allow him to be pain-free for many years. Hope you don't need something similar with all of the heavy lifting that you do.
Good luck with the surgery, glad you came to the States! Thanks for the water scene….a bit more would be so appreciated 😉, probably would have been hard to breathe, but would be totally worth it ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Best to Steve. I’m sure the positive energy shared between you both will improve his recovery. You both are amazing!
Hope all goes well for Steve! God speed his recovery!
Best Wishes for success in Steve's surgery.. "I know we're going to be okay if Steve still has his sense of humor through all of this and he does" - ...Gold... Round-up works wonders on weed control.
Oh trust me - Steve tried the Agent Orange route. It really just made a mess of dead grown weeds that looked awful and still had to be dealt with. (I didn’t mention that to reduce the amount of comments about how awful that is for you…). 🤪🤷🏻♀️
I'm offering up prayers for a successful surgery on Steve and that he recoups and is as good as new and my prayers go with you too.
May the good Lord continue to bless and keep you safe and all that you do.
Sincerely,
Bec, from Ohio
Wishing Steve a speedy recovery!
Get well, Steve, I know you’re in good hands with Michelle, taking care of you.
Michelle, thank you for all the videos you have posted. It has helped me heal from heart surgery.❤
