A speaker driver is what converts an audio signal into sound waves. A key component of a driver is a thin membrane called the diaphragm. The diaphragm is usually cone shaped with a dome in the middle. The center of the dome produces high-end frequencies. The top of the peak generates the mid-range frequencies, and the edge of the diaphragm is for the bass. Most, if not all, gaming headsets use a traditional driver system where the highs, mids, and lows get jumbled together in a single chamber in the earcup, and that mixture is reflected back into your ears. If you have a gaming headset with booming bass, the stronger bass frequencies will overpower the mids and highs. The resulting sound is muddy, distorted, and lacking in clarity. Distortion is when sound waves have been altered from the original audio signal, usually in the form of a clipped waveform.

It basically means less disortion and less muddy sounds and more clean and crisp sound.

@@Pysko69 You can opt to use virtual surround sound if you have Windows 10. It works just as well as having 7.1 built into the headset.

Have had the Cloud Alphas for about a month now. They're outstanding.
I'm using them on my PS4 with Hyoerx sound card and I think the bass is barely noticable.
I would LOVE to see HyperX Make an open back pair of headphones and see them nail it like they do every single time. I got the Cloud II's and I instantly became a fanboy. I can't let them go. They are my go-to for gaming headsets. I think I'm buying these as soon as they are available on my favorite store. Thank you ads for showing me the light.

Being better than the original clouds I/II is not a particularly big feat.
For all the bandwagon praise they got, they were the farthest thing from "balanced". they were bass heavy and had poor response in the treble range, so congrats on fixing that i guess.

Hey Andrei! The dual chamber will allow you to manually adjust the bass, the 7.1 surround sound card is a feature coming along with the USB sound card. :)
watching this video with my hyperx cloud alpha
i really enjoy the sound of this headset, sounds miles better than the cloud 2s. my only problem is that they're not as comfortable as the cloud 2s which makes me sad the driver touches my ear and causes a lot of pain, the fix of this would be deeper ear pads or some padding over the drivers which the cloud 2 had. is there any fix i could do i dont really want to have to send them back but they're just not usable for me causing this much pain am i the only one experiencing this problem?

Depends on your budget. Stinger has gotten fantastic reviews, but if you are able to spend a bit more, the Cloud Alpha is pretty great as well.

I loved the cloud 2’s on my xbox x sold them for the alphas. Chat was too faint and i adjusted it!! I cannot win i guess.

I'm using Alphas with Hyperx Sound Card on my PS4 and Alphas lack bass. I also have flights and this headset packs more punch. I would assume Dual Chambers would make bass louder due to separation but it's not the case in my opinion.
The Alpha is amazing for music. Have no trouble getting clean, ear shaking bass. I'm using it paired with a fiio A5 amp, using custom eqs via jetaudio music player.
if you will listen to music, go with the alphas. if not, the flights are fine. for 99 dollars, it's doesn't get much better this

Cloud 2 or Alpha? what should i choose
They are both great headsets, so it just depends on what you need or like more. The Cloud Alpha has a Dual Chamber Drivers design that gives your audio more distinction and clarity by reducing distortion. Its main cable and microphone are detachable. The cable has a single 3.5 mm jack connection and has an in-line control. The microphone is certified by Discord and TeamSpeak and it's multi-platform compatible, so that you can use it on consoles, pc and mobile phones.

Rowdy I dont think they will because they make gaming stuff and open backs in gaming wont be great simce in vc people can hear what you're hearing
does this also have soft earpads like the cloud series or could i at least use my soft earpads from the cloud 1 on this alpha one ? cause i dont like the leather earpads at all.
Thanks for the suggestion, the Alphas currently come with the leatherette ear pads. The Cloud I earpads are similar in size, but are not designed for the Alpha.
problem is, that im used to shots sounding like they do and making them sound like they were supposed to do and giving them a new sound really throws me off

Hi HiperX question.... I just got my cloud alpha yesterday and I like the sound and everything but I noticed that the volume is too low on the PS4 and I saw you guys have a sound card for the cloud 2 my question is:
Does that sound card it’s compatible with my headset and will I get more volume if I get your sound card?
The Alpha is compatible with the Cloud II USB card. You will also get more volume when using the USB port on the PS4.

Do I need a USB soundcard in order to achieve the virtual surround sound for CS:GO with this particular headsets? If yes, should I buy Cloud II?
You can use a USB sound card or a program like Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos
Maybe if I ask nicely I can get one.

The Cloud IIs and the Cloud Alphas have different drivers.

This Cloud Alpha has just a 3.5 mm jack at the end right? My setup is quite Frankenstein but it's that way to suit my needs. I have a TB PX22 in-line amp that a headset with a 3.5 mm jack plugs into and that amp has a 3.5 mm jack and USB that plugs into a TB DSS2 surround sound box. My other question is about the Alpha having 60 ohms, would it be powered enough by my setup to generate up to at least 120 decibels, analogous to a jet engine? my current headset probably reaches up to 140 or 150 decibels even though it sounds extremely distorted at those volumes but it is a 32 ohm headset. Being 60 ohms, does that actually cut the volume in half?

@@hyperx The headset sound quality is absolutely beautiful and has a real speaker like sound quality. I can get it to work with the px 22 inline amp and tb dss2 although it makes for an incredibly bulky setup because I have to use the revolver's included splitter.

Have both the cloud alpha and revolver. Using these headsets on my Xbox one S... having an issue when deciding which is best for FPS like rainbow six siege and PUBG... the revolver sound louder and more bass, yet I’m unsure if it’s as clear and accurate as the alpha... I prefer the mic on the alpha as it’s picks up less background noise and I can move it away from my face unless the revolver which the mic is less flexible. I also like that on the alpha it has a volume control on the wire which gives it great ease of access.. what I’d like to know from the professionals.. which headset do I go stick with.. the hyper alpha or the hyper revolver! Thanks for any advise
