ive hit 39 on my non ported engine. stock carb, 36t sprocket, high compression head, ngk br6hs plug, mz65 clone pipe (doesnt even do much, i want a new pipe)
With the larger BBR type (WC80) $69-$75 expansion pipe on your setup, you'd probably hit 44-45 mph top speed but would lose some bottom end acceleration VS the smaller $40-$45 mz65 clone pipe you have on. I don't think the extra $30-$35 for the larger pipe to go 3 mph faster is worth the money. Not just because it's $35 more but also because of the pipes extra weight & space it takes up, plus the poor welds. If the larger BBR- WC80 type pipe had a smaller ID stinger pipe & no flow obstructions inside. Then it might actually have some decent expansion pipe effect. I think it might be worth buying for a larger piston/higher rpm custom engine build as a budget expansion pipe. I'm betting if someone took the stock exhaust pipe, gutted it/hollow,sealed it back up & ran a piece of 5/8in or 3/4in ID metal flex or regular bent pipe out the end to a slip on silencer. It'd have the same performance as the $45 mz65 clone & $25 slip-on silencer. I have some free parts laying around to build a gutted stock exhaust pipe & diy silencer. I wanna build it to compare to my $45 mz65 clone pipe. Or a gutted stock pipe with a lawnmower sausage type pipe on the end.
@michael brinks you're probably right about the higher top speed but honestly I just cruise country roads and need the hill climbing power more so than top speed.i did this test just to see how much gains I would get from a light port/polish job as compared to a stock cylinder.the clone pipe does seem to give a little more performance than the stock though so I'm happy with it. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching ✌
