- This video first shows the reverse engineering of one the boards installed on the unit. In a second time the power supply is tested alone. The power supply is then reunited with the rest of the laser seeker and the entire system is connected to a power supply. We can visualize the spinning of the gyro and the fixed position of the optical sensor head which is servo-controlled. Finally some measurements are performed.

Waow! Got chills when the seeker was powered and spun up! Impressive!
Absolutely remarkable. I hope it's possible to get the seeker to respond to an external laser signal...
Heat source 4-4.6u
The clear plastic dome is threaded to the base of the optical laser tracker. If you apply a sticky cloth or similar and turn it counter clockwise the dome can be removed.
The 2 axis mirror gimbal has a carbon film position potentiometer for each axis and an optical sensor to measure rotation.
Great job reverse engineering the coil electronics.
Thank you for your comment. Effectively I just removed the dome but it doesn't help to see what is behind the mirror gimbal assembly.
@@lelabodemichel5162 Upon reflection this type of laser seeker may not use the gimbal potentiometers. An optical fiber camera might help, if you can find one?
@@jeromeprater183 i don't think this is a plastic window either. Today is typically a sapphire for 4-4.6u transmission.
Thanks a lot for the comprehensive reverse engineering and explanations, great work :)
That was some serious reverse engineering. Well done. And at the end even you cat said "bye" 😃
As a non native English speaker I don't have any significant problems with his accent! Yes it is strong but if the viewer is really interested, I don't think it will be a significant constraint for this 'gold mine' of information!
Very interesting, thank you very much.
I love to tinker these electronic stuff, but doesn't know how to reverse engineering it. You are good with it!
Очень качественный анализ. Спасибо.
18:40 IIRC the gyroscope keeps the seeker stable, but it doesn't lock it in place to missile axis, so that when the aircraft maneuvers or it vibrates, the gyroscope cancels those and keep steady video with small delay to follow the aircraft. As before the seeker acquires a track (lock), it needs to give a pilot good steady picture even in his shaky cockpit.
Fantastic research!
Excellent as always. Congratulations
Nice work !
великолепно!
This is a fantastic reverse engineer! Great work.
J'adore! Excellent videos.
Detailed and very good explanation. Can you tell anything over the specification of used components in these applications?!
👍👍👍👍
I'd like to know how on earth he's able to get his hands on this stuff? I wonder if he'll get his hands on the guidance and control section of an AIM-7E or -7F?
Circuits intégrés montés à l'envers, ponts rajoutés. Ne serait-ce pas plutôt un prototype ? Où l'avez-vous acheté ?
I wonder what the rpm is??
How do you know how much current you can apply to these terminals? Do you just start with a small amount and increase until the device starts moving?
I think I did something like that.
Very interesting, one question, where did you find this stuff ?
eBay, demilitarised equipment ends up there.
In a military shop in USA
@@lelabodemichel5162 Yes, and do not deliver to many countries outside the USA either.
@@lelabodemichel5162 merci Michel
Is that really from a agm 65c as I thought the c model was only a prototype
I am not totally sure, but according to the web site www.designation-systems.net/ the code AN/DAB-1 present on the identification plate corresponds to the laser seeker of AGM-65C. I think it was more than a prototype, according to other web site a few of them where used for the Desert Strom Operation for example. However this is difficult to verify, a lot of things are classified. Something which intrigues me is the diameter of this seeker, which is closed to 15cm instead of 30cm for a classic Maverick missile.
He must be getting big offers from countries to work for them
you are so passionate aviation circuit, can you make more videos agm65? ,,,,..you can reverse Engineering to the remaining circuit block ? Le seul vrai langage au monde est un Ingénierie...
It is in progress, my goal is to have the complete schematics of this seeker.

Охренеть. Он что схему рисует имея на руках только плату ?
Will you be my friend? 😅
