According to OEM diagram, smaller radiator adjusting screw is for the manual transmision.

Any tips on getting that very bottom hose to go fully into the radiator. Mine is being very stubborn 😂

The longer drain plug/petcock is for automatic transmissions!! Hopefully you switched them around before you do damage.

@@nyashamvuraichana9998 Be careful on some aftermarket radiators that might need the shorter or longer plugs for automatic transmissions. Be sure they come with precise instructions.

Brian I am stumped on the process of removing the fan/clutch assembly. I'm working on a 2003 BMW 325i auto and rwd. Everything I have read and seen shows the fan to spin clock-wise (reverse thread as you mentioned) to be removed. I do not have that specific tool set for removing the fan as you did, but I have used an air hammer and also a large pair of groove joint pliers and the fan nut still will not budge, even after spraying it down with penetrant spray. But, I also found out the engine rotates clock-wise and it was confirmed when I bumped the ignition key a few times and the engine fan rotated clock-wise (toward the driver-side of the vehicle). What am I misunderstanding?

My plate keeps leaking, after 2 weeks of installing it. What are your thoughts?

  • @brainfleming8756

Love your video, but the bottom plastic that clips into the radiator you installed incorrectly. As shown in the video, insert the upper portion first, then the bottom, you will see sort of loops which should be compressed, and then the lower part will clip in. Took me a while to figure this out as I purchased a new plastic part, among others, when I replaced my radiator.

Well I assumed you got the long boy you needed, lmfao the longer one looked mad short when I got mine so I didn’t change it and turns out it just all leaked out cuz my auto had the manual cap so I just switched em( the longer and short one came with the radiator)

Unfortunate that the young kid that owns the vehicle does not have the space, tools, or confidence to do the work himself. I have purchased a used 2001 BMW 330Ci and am gradually restoring and doing preventative maintenance, and I have found the vehicle to be very well designed from the maintenance perspective. Anybody with a reasonable amount of skill and tools should be able to work on these vehicles.
