I already changed the water pump last year and last week, I changed my thermostat and expansion tank and when I did it, I needed to replace the seal in the hoses because some of them was broken after I removed them I recommand you to buy a seal kit
Thanks man excited to watch this. After I can make sure the engine would still function I wanna overhaul the cooling system on my 1999 Cutlass. It’s a cheaper car but I wanted to find some cooling system overhaul videos because they’re informative and very entertaining to me personally. I’m probably gonna have more into it than what it’s worth even without the labor costs for most of the work that’ll be done on it but I feel like it’s worth it because I wanna keep it running as opposed to scrapping it, especially because it only has 70K miles on it. I got it for free from my parents are for probably less than 4K I’ll have a car that’ll run for a long time, hopefully the engine block is all good and not cracked from a couple unstated risk factors.
Secret to not blowing your engine simplified: Buy a 120psi radiator cap, get rid of the OEM 200psi radiator cap that causes too much pressure in the system causing things to blow up.
That's a good idea but the pressure is typically 29psi not 200. German Auto Solutions sells a 17.5psi cap for this purpose. Just thought I would clarify so you don't get frustrated looking for a new radiator cap. Great thought though I am getting ready to do my system as well and plan to add this part to the list.
I like your plug on using FCP Euro to source parts when doing jobs like this but I don't consider what you did in your video a cooling system overhaul but rather a cooling system refresh. An overhaul is when you replace everything in your cooling system including the cooling system hard pipes and heater core hoses which are under the intake manifold. As miles creep up on your BMW it becomes prudent to replace those cooling system hard pipes as they become brittle and will break off where they mount into the engine block. I recently performed a cooling system overhaul on my BMW sourcing everything from FCP Euro.
Love the channel, content, vibes, lol but if I can make a recommendation, you should find a way to record from above where you are working instead of behind you over your shoulder. Just being honest, i think it would make the video even cleaner in terms of "Watchability" or whatever...
I live 5 minutes from fcp euro. Gotta love it
That must be nice!
Lucky you haha, I live in México and I order from there👌
That's really cool! Us like going to the grocery store for you! 😅😅🤣
Can you really walk in ?
@@yeltsinhernandez7952 going to the grocery store caused me to replace the expansion tank...
As long as you change the oil early. This is the only thing that will kill a stock m52/54. Great video.
😂😂
Have a question about an 2001 bmw 330ci colant

Wait!!! Has this been the problem this whole time?!

Nice tips and explanation on thermostat.
i think its funny that 3 days ago all of this failed on mine and boom he posts about it
I think you're better than clickbait titles dude.
how is it clickbait
@@ikeepgettinbanned5525 I think the title has, thankfully, been changed in the 6 months since I posted it.
Isn't there a coolant drain plug on the engine block?
I just order my waterpump, radiator and expansion tank.. Do you recommend to change all the tubes also or just when they are visible getting older?
Visual is find and what I did. I did replace the o-rings
The plastic impellers are actually better. They balance better and have a longer bearing life.

No thermostat replacement?
Well done, Evan! 👌
I stripped one of the water pump treads but it’s been over a year now and over 6k miles and no leak, but do want to get it fixed
What brand was the airbox you had on in the beginning of the video?
Great video. But shouldn't you also have replaced at least the thermostate (ignoring further hoses in the back)?
I already replaced my thermostat
I was literally just about to order coolant to do this
Order it from FCP.
Okay, you filled up the expansion tank to the top?? Is that to much or is that okay??
Great video bud!
This video deserves better than the clickbait title.
( Good content but the title is over the top clickbaity )
How much time did it take to perform this?
Around 3-4 hrs maybe
Great video! How much did the parts cost?
I need help can u help me ?
Hi great channel I did replaced my radiator but I forgot to installed the coolant thermostat is there any issues or do I need to install
I would recommend replacing it
Putting plastic garbage back in a older BMW is like voting for Biden. You'll never be happy with the results.
