Hi Max I’m one of the contributors to this channel. As you can see we had to put a halt on uploading content. There is a dilemma so it force us to stop uploading. We have more shows and other videos we want to upload but can’t due to ownership of the videos. So the videos that are here on this channel has green light for uploading. Let me message you on Instagram
What's even more funny is how many took his words for it, thinking that he couldn't sweep at all. Paul could sweep with the best of them but he never liked the sound of it, Shawn Lane was the same, he hated it, they were both all about string-skipping. Check out Paul's recent video from his studio at home where he's practicing Sacrifice by Racer X's Second Heat, there's an awesone sweep that Bruce Bouillet played, Paul shreds it no problem.
Nicola Ferrari hi thanks for the recommendation. Just to share something I know : he could economy pick too but didn’t like how it sounded so he stopped practicing it. Cheers
I'll never be able to shred or do even a tenth of what Paul can do on Guitar...yet you don't have to be able to play in that style to take away valuable things from watching and listening to this guy. He got me paying closer attention to my use of vibrato during solos, for instance. And, overall, just watching him play and seeing/hearing his enthusiasm for music all these years later is inspiring. Paul Gilbert is a musical National Treasure!
THANK YOU! This video was on here back in 2015-2016 but it was taken down! I have been hoping to God someone would also have a copy, and turns out it’s Paul himself or someone else from Racer X.
Treasures! Thanks a lot man, hopefully one day Racer X will return. Since Paul apparently doesn't want to shred anymore, we have to check these old gems out for this stuff. That jam near the end on Fire Of Rock is amazing, magical!
I heard lots of people talking down on Getting Heavier, but i personally love that record. Yeah he may not be as good as the ones before it, but every Racer X record is awesome in my opinion.
Yeah, I don’t think enough people realize that. Not only was he the best technical player at the time - no one has even come close since. I’ve seen a lot of accomplished players on UA-cam, but they have yet to bridge the gap.
Ahemmmm Shawn Lane. Eric Johnson, Garsed, Holdsworth, Petrucci, Morse, Gambale, Wylde, di Meola, Becker, YJM, Kee Marcello etc.... all at least comparable to PG. I love Sr. Gilberto’s older style but we can’t be afraid to face reality.
Marshall Harrison - Guitarist: Those players are very good, and I’m not saying Paul is better overall than them. I’m just saying that from the standpoint of pure technical ability, that is, that ability to ‘play anything’ - Paul is better. His articulation, speed, timing, endurance, and skill diversity is what puts him ahead. Then only person I might agree with you on is Shawn Lane. However, I haven’t seen Shawn Lane demonstrate the ability to articulate notes nearly as well as Paul Gilbert, even if both players have similar overall speed.
If anybody want to contribute to this channel we are missing the Full Concert of Rock To The Top 87’, Full Concert NAMM 87’, and Bruce Bouillet & Chris Arvan Poolside Interview, Full Concert The Scream any of their live shows. Thanks
Thank you very much guys for this inspiring stuff! I always love to see these rare videos with my guitar hero's guitar playing👍
I love your playing bro one day I'll become as good as you
talking about the beast... Mr. Max you are young and the world allready knows your name, you´r f. incredible!!

hi Max, you're fire!
Oh man..there must have been so great just to be there, watching first hand PG in his prime, asking him questions and requesting songs, riffs, etc...
God bless you RacerX
Truth In Shredding hi Laurie
PG in many interviews: I can’t sweep/I always have a hard time sweeping
8:07-8:18 12:56 come on, Paul!

Logan Prosperie neither Paul nor any of the members of Racer X provided this tape.
Frank Vela oh dayum, i wonder who did then. Maybe just fans then perhaps.
Logan Prosperie I ain’t going to say who but more is coming. A lot of 1st times. Stay tuned

I truly hope so. Superheros was an amazing album and Getting Heavier was good too. I would even settle for a new 4 track EP at this point.
I heard lots of people talking down on Getting Heavier, but i personally love that record.

Paul doesn't want to shred? Dude, I saw him live on the Behold Electric Guitar tour. Let me assure you he shreds plenty
Genius!!!!
Thanks for sharing Paul Gilbert old video racer x era..

@@Ricky-ci4jx Paul is an incredibly clean picker. Unreal.

Any idea who the other guy jamming with Paul at the end is? Awesome phrasing...
Second only to Jason Becker. Oh, and that guy with the keys to the Lamborghini and that Swedish cabbage-patch-kid looking dude....
Pretty sure you can hear Frank Gambale in the background :o
Sure I heard him shout... "Hey, I invented sweep picking!"
Hahahaha :D All jokes aside, he has some good stuff imo. Anyone know who's the other guitarist at the end of this vid btw?
PG = Pretty Good: lol jk
