      I like your first suggestion, but what if your first customer wants to see examples of your work? For instance, if I decided to start offering website design.

      You were initially contract with that person to build your website so you know they have the skills needed to perform that job task. Then when a potential client asked to see an example of your work you would already have a portfolio full of work examples

    Gillian, thank you for this information. I like that you are not telling me that I can make $1000 by tomorrow if I follow your advice. You give ideas for potentially making that amount but only if I do the work and research well the opportunities that are out there.

    I’m graduating with my Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S) degree in Accounting this May and I am interested in starting my own tax prep business. Yes I am capable of doing bookkeeping but it’s very boring and I find tax more interesting out of the two. I’m hesitating on starting this venture though because I (will be) a recent graduate so therefore I have a small amount of experience. And I feel like people would only trust me to do their taxes if I was highly experienced. But there is also various tax returns that are more complicated than others (a schedule C is easier to understand and prepare than dealing with a trust or estate).

    I think an extra idea can be targeting the homeschooling niche. As someone with interest in education (language tutor - I speak 5 languages, engineering graduate from Oxford, education-based YT channel) I feel like it's a market that will expand especially after the pandemic as well as for some(!) students homeschooling is a better fit!

    What POD company gives you $8 per t-shirt? I get about $1 (depending on the platform) for each T-shirt that I sell. Yes, I could raise my percentage but I would have to raise it so high for my royalty on a T-shirt to be as high as $8 that very, very few people would be willing to buy the T-shirt.

    You were describing how you're reading about world history, but the way you described the Industrial Revolution creating social mobility for the first time in history sounds more like European and US history, not world history. In fact, there was tremendous social mobility in China for the last 2,000 years, institutionalized through their civil service and imperial examination system. This allowed even peasants to obtain well-paying positions in government through a system of exams, from rudimentary to advanced, allowing one to rise up in rank through effort and study. In fact Great Britain copied this system from China in the 1850s for their own civil service, as their increasing industrialization required ever more skilled workers and administrators. We Americans then copied this system in the 1870s. In a word, China's meritocratic exam system was a key component in the success of the the industrial revolutions of the 19th century.
    Unfortunately, this is often left out of what is commonly taught in 'world' history.

      I found this video a year later was won't this same thing. Especially from an expectations standpoint, this seems like a quick and easy way to get bad reviews or reported to the better business bureau. It would be next to impossible to manage quality assurance. There way too many kinks to workout to just follow this idea as described in the video

      what exact clients are you looking for? as in, a clothing line does not need a client, but customers and a community. and you build in by creating content around your line, repurposing that content and builing a close knit community. then, you market your items to that community and grow from there

  • @Bratenzie

    For print on demand and drop shipping youll need to either have a credit card listed so that they will automatically buy from printify or Ali express whatever you’re doing. You’ll still need to pay for it because Etsy transactions won’t come right away they take a couple days unless you disclose a processing fee , so it’s a little more work then that… also make sure you’re shipping times aren’t super long bc ppl are less likely to buy things they know will take forever to get there. Drop shipping is honestly just feeding into over consumption.

    • @Bratenzie
      @Bratenzie Рік тому

      Also you’ll have a pay for every listing you post on etsy and after a while you’ll have to pay for Shopify bc you start with a free trial. There’s a lot of important deciding factors with these things that you’re just not saying if I was going into it blinding and didn’t know any of what I do I would be so upset having a pay $30 a month if my Shopify store wasn’t making any money or Etsy.

    One thing I will say from my husbands experience - although he is making a slow success - do your research and do your BUSINESS PLAN! every single thing cost money - make sure you are making profit - don’t forget about taxes and vat on top! you might just brake even after you made your first 200K in the same year - that has happened to my husband, so please please please - do your calculations and speak to your accountant oh yes - because they also cost a lot of money :) 🌲👍🎷 otherwise - go for it!
