- Miracle is our new horse we bought at auction. She is a registered MFT untrained 2 year old
filly. In this video I start to work with her for the first time, getting her use to round pen work all the way to putting a saddle on for the first time.
Follow along to see her progress! And don’t forget to check out her auction video and bringing home video!

You amaze me at how you train the newbies. You're so good with them!!
She seems to be slipping a bit on that footing. I think that’s why she was hesitant to go faster. I think she IS a miracle. Thanks for helping her. What a lovely girl.
Miracle is simply beautiful....I like how you train her, I've seen some shockingly abusive trainers online, thank you for not being one of them...kindness and good leadership always pays off...🐎
Beautiful Miracle. She learned so much so quickly but you can see her calming down from the beginning to the end of the video, IMO. You know your horse psychology, I think.
What a beautiful name for this beautiful horse. God Bless you All.
Please accept this as a MASSIVE Compliment. I just realized that all the videos I've been watching of you and your family, from beginnings to shows, remind me of a Wonderful Teacher - Mr. Rogers!! Your demeanor and wisdom applied to each individual horse is a true pleasure to watch. Seeing your kids participate with your endeavors is, IMHO, an example of biblical living. Thank you! It's pretty cool. BTW, I don't get to watch all the time because I'm OTR, but I do when I have extra time before/after loads.
I am so impressed with this family. That’s the best upbringing for kids. Good example for the horses and the kids. I wish I had gotten a wholesome upbringing like that. GOOD JOB! And GBY
You have a nice soft calming tone to your voice most men are gruff and emotionless
Everything is groundwork. The more handling the better the horse will be. Glad to see this!
Miracle is a beautiful calm horse. I like how you train your horses with kindness and respect.
Dang, JR...ya look like you hurt! Maybe wrap some duct tape around your ribs. (On the outside)
She is a bright little horse, looks like she will be going places !
What a pretty horse Miracle is. You are so good to your horses. 😊
Just found this vlog...gosh what a beautiful horse...love her color..bet she would have pretty foals. Great addition to your Homestead❤💙💜💛💚
God how I wish I lived there with you guys with such wonderful, magical, magnificent, unconditional love......you guys bring me such a peace and happiness that people can really love.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤..... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
She has such a gorgeous head!! I am delighted that you are using Monty Roberts....He is just incredible, really can do miracles. She is limping on her right front, maybe when your able to do feet she just needs to be leveled. Gosh she is pretty. I have become a MFT lover. I never imagined they had such great conformation, and heads...I can hardly wait to see your babies from faith and the other one (forgot her name,,,,starts with a C I believe. I love the name Faith).
She's so beautiful! I love that color she is Wow!!!
What a beautful Filly. She really is elegant. Love your gentle way of teaching her. She will make someone a wonderful horse.
You are so kind and gentle with these horses - bet they all would choose to stay with you.😊. Just hope the people who buy them from you are just as kind and caring.
Impressive J.R. She is really smart!✌️🙏🏻💪
Miracle is certainly a beauty...one of the prettiest in his stable. Love how calm & confident JR is with her training. Very interesting...TY for sharing.🐴🐴🐴👍💕
Beautiful 🤩 little filly ! Miracle 🥰🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕
Beautiful horse. She seems to have a lovely demeanor
I love how you take the time and listen to the horse while training. It's reaally nice to see someone who cares....Enjoy watching you, thank you..
Think she will end up being a good horse.....
What causes her to slip so much? She's beautiful and I love the way you train your horses and how you explain to us each little part such as how the horse interprets the pat, scratching and smooth stroking
Because the ground is hard and slippery!
He commented on her slipping and I read between the lines "as compared to other horses he has trained in the round pen". I wondered about how often she slipped also.
Miracle is so beautiful. I am new to your channel. Just watched video of you working with Faith. OMG, I cried as you prayed over her, for her. So beautiful and awesome.❤ Loving your work with Oliver. Such a blessing for him to receive the love, care and respect he deserves. He's too young to have been abused by previous owner. They should receive similar treatment to show them what they're doing, hopefully to turn them around. God gave us dominion, not to be cruel and heartless. LOL, my grandson's name is Oliver and...his birthday is same as Rain's!!!😊❤
Haha, alot of connections there🥰❤️
Pretty horse, all new things for her. ❤❤
Great video. I hope you do more of these
She sure is smart! And beautiful. What a combo ❤
She's such a pretty colored horse a good lesson for me before this I had no idea how to approach an untrained horse much less starting to work with her - don't you get dizzy in there ? Going around & around? I sure was! Looks like she's doing pretty darn good with your training 😃👌👍❤️🐴❤️ miracle is a beauty! She's going to be too notch in some time with you 😃👌👍👍❤️🐴❤️
Thankyou for saving the horses
He called hon. 😊 what a beautiful girl nice job man.
Miracle is a beautiful horse. You kinda remind me, of the movie. HORSE WHISPER!!! Gentle, firm and always loving. Learning alot, from these videos.
I love how you handle horses. Gentle touches. You remind me of Steve Young Horsemanship from the UK. He has several videos on youtube. He reminds me of the Horse Whisperer.
You know horses, no doubt. ❤❤❤
I really enjoy the training videos. Thank you X
She sure is a pretty little filly! She was tap dancing a little, but did good!
She's so beautiful. I am confident she'll train well with you. Just might take a lil while. ❤
Miracle is my favorite, I love how you had her 1st ride was in the water, then you ponied her on her first trail ride.
she is so pretty, I love her. SHe has a soft but intelligent eye and is very present. Oooh i wish I lived in the states. It's a bit far to send a horse to NZ I feel hehehe.
I enjoyed your show and the horse Miracle is Amazing y Fabulous 🤙🏝😋
well done and thank you for being so kind to her
Love seeing what your doing, but not sure about the cement underneath the thin layer of sawdust that is wet, that looks like what she is slipping on. Also love your young horse💕💕💕💕💕
It is just dirt. Compacted dirt, but dirt. We plan to dumb sand there someday for softer footing.
She's a beautiful girl, you really know horses, you calm them down and get them to learn so quickly, You are definitely a horse whisperer. Is she a Palomino? She kind of reminds me of Mr. Ed in looks. Never mind, as I watched further into your video you mentioned she is a Palomino! 🐴
Thanks for posting. I always enjoy your videos.
She's a Barbie for sure just beautiful
She's lovely
Shes beautiful
She's a beauty. She looks like Mr. Ed....I mean that in a good way.
She is sooo gorgeous!
Love what you're doing with this Philly being so kind with her and all your approach to her is absolutely great the only bad thing is running her around on that cement you have no idea what you're going to do to her legs on cement. Very very bad for their legs please take this into consideration and get her and dirt.
It is a dirt floor. Missouri can have very hard clay, ground.
Gorgeous horse! She almost looks like a Pearline (?) she's so shiny. Love her color, black muzzle, white blaze even black hoofs. How old is she? 2?
❤ She did well. 😊
Thanks this was very helpful
Beautiful 🥰
Nice hair cut 👍
What a stunner.
I like how you work with the horses. You treat them with respect.
Also you little pup there is so cute.
Nice looking horse . She seems to be slipping lots . Is the floor slippery in the round pen . I saw her drag her hind leg .
I like watching you it teach me what too do with horses
Do you think a slightly larger round pen would help her be less likely to slip, since she’d not need to turn quite as hard? Or is there some other reason that she lacks traction? It makes me tense when I see her slipping in the ring. 😊 I don’t want her to fall down.
You did a good job working with her.
But one thing I have to mention is: it is not very good, working horses on concrete, you should put a better bedding on the grund of your rund pen.
Greetings from Germany
It’s not concrete. Dirt floor. Just compacted. We plan to put sand down once we can afford it. I would never work a horse on concrete.
nice gait
This one is much brighter than your average horse. Be fair to her or she might not forgive you.
Walking toward lift side it look her right leg is sinking in when running (limping) Verry thigt in back legs. Take it slow ❤
She had a front hoof in a bit of rough shape. She is sound though and at this time hoof is grown out and 100%
Hello from British Columbia Canada
🇨🇦👋👍♥️🌲🧘♀️🌲🚴♂️🐴🚴♂️🐴💥🥳
Hello, im from there as well lol
Is that concrete she's trotting on? I can hear her trotting on that flooring you have in the round pen you need to put some shavings in there. And those knots behind her ears I'm not sure I like that. She is a beautiful filly
No, it’s a dirt floor. Just compacted. The floor is not my favorite either it’s just what we have to work with right now. You have to remember we are in a gaint echoing barn also so the footsteps sound louder then what they are. Our plan is to get sand there someday.
Maybe not wait on getting sand or softer footing for your beautiful horses? Softer footing may prevent future skeletal injury???😮
how is Maddie and when are we going to see some more videos of her
Really wouldn't recommend her being trained on a concrete floor... soft dirt or grass guarantees safety from slipping, plus no injury to her legs or hoofs...
🦋💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🦋
Yes, we have a lot of people think it’s a concrete floor, but it’s not. Just dirt.
It’s not concrete it’s dirt
Hi, I’m just curious, what kind of footing is in this round pen? Is it hard? Makes lots of noise.
Cremello.? Gaited..❤
DANGER! DANGER! SPRAY BOTTLE 😈 DEMON! MUST FLEE! 😮
How is her training going ??
Please tell me why with all that land you got !have you got a round pen with a concrete floor?
It doesn’t have a concrete floor it’s dirt
Hi. Miracle is a beautiful horse..when she is moving she looks more like she is pacing more than trotting??
Yes, some foxtrotters will start out pacing when riding at first.
Actually she is doing neither. A pace both hooves on the same side will I be moving in unison. Lifting and landing at the same time. She is not trotting either. This is a shuffle gait and sometimes a flatfoot walk
Have you checked her for wobbles.
Hard for me to watch her slipping on cement (?)
It’s just a dirt floor. No cement.
Glad to hear that thanks for letting me know!!!👍
The round pen is a little small for what your trying to do I feel like. She needs more room to go out.
I do agree I have since added another panel. But that makes it tight in the barn.
How much would you sell it for
I think this horse needs medical treatment
Bless her she is very nice
This filly is very pretty and her head says all day that she is a LADY! Not being a know it all or anything, but parts of the round pen are very slippery, she noticed that herself from the get go, so why not put down some sand or dirt or something for better footing....sure would set her back on her pretty good behavior if her feet go out from under her and she crashed on her side. Is is concrete under the whatever is in that pen?
Plenty of armchair equestrian trainers here.
🤗🇨🇦👍
Front movement not so good might be some discomfort there
You wonder why she is slipping?? Really
Oh lord she looks gaited. Or has ataxia?
Yes, she is Gaited. She is a Missouri Foxtrotter.
@@homesteadhorsemanship Ok that's a relief for her. In Europe we don't have gaited horses, this horse would be considered to have very severe ataxia. We look for three pure gaits with clear four hoof beats in walk, two in trot and generally three in canter. I'm guessing it might be extremely difficult diagnosing true ataxia in a young gaited horse without the pure trot as the base line. She's very pretty and feminine, as a mare should be.
Is that a concrete floor? the whole video I'm just praying she don't slip and break something, God forbid.. That's not safe at all!
No it’s dirt she is just not coordinated yet
Sh 10:46 e like being petted
She's slipping so much because he's working her on concrete. She should be on sand, or wood chips. Way to hard of a surface. hard on joints and feet.
It's hard packed dirt.
They are small sized horses?
Big men look strange on small horses, IMHO! 😒
You really seem to be rushing her compared to other trainers I've watched...
You had me until you used the noise maker. Too much too soon. She's really beautiful with a good eye.
Got to have a feeling in person to say for sure. I was wrong once. Can’t remember when but I’m sure it happened.
Please get your round pen resurfaced. One bad slip and your horse could be ruined.
Why are you doing this to a 2 year old horse that is very small
It’s necessary for their development and physical progress. It is just general education
Omg does all of this training take place in 1 day... If so are you on a deadline? because that's way too much to throw at that horse at 1 time if you are a real horse trainer you would know that unless you're on some kind of a deadline but even then that's way too much at 1 time
Not all one
3.44 -- that pony is lame. No way should you be making her go 1/8th of anywhere..
She was not lame.
Horse looked lame to me as well. Marcia, did you think right hind leg?
