Colt is absolutely adorable. I hope he and Daisy have lots of beautiful babies. The owner who refused to answer your questions about her horse is suspect, as far as I'm concerned. I'm willing to bet she knew what had caused damage to the animal's leg. People like that shouldn't own animals. That tiny donkey was a cutie. I had kind of hoped you would get him. He seemed to like you. 😊
Yes, we loved the tiny donkey. It’s so hard to decide sometimes in the moment what is right or not right but I do wish we have made an effort to get him. He was so so sweet.
@@homesteadhorsemanship Oh darn. I wish you had got that little donkey. But he's cute enough to hopefully get a good home. I kinda have a soft spot for mini donkeys since discovering DJ Arm's on UA-cam with her little donkey bunch.
Being a responsible horseman at auction and at home goes a long way in my book. Appreciate your compassion and sincerity. Sure wish that could be cloned, kill buyers would go hungry. Please keep an eye out for Canadian horses. Still trying to get bill enacted that was passed to stop live slaughter exports. Few I've seen dumped on the way to Texas border.
15:00 I'm so sorry, that you don't buy this wonderful horse... unbreathable ... I never saw a coloured horse like this in my live. Greetings from germany
When you buy a horse at an auction it is best for the buyer to beware because an auction can hide a lot of flaws not easily seen! I used to ride some auction horses when I was a lot younger, seen a lot of things in my days.
It was nice to see an auction where it wasn’t a kill auction. Those auctions absolutely break me. I’m glad your son doesn’t have to use the wheelchair to actually get around.
Glad to see you saved olivers life couse i don't think he had long in the condition he was in . But ya he's showing a better feeling about life . Your doughter showing him love and companion and spioling Jim with the apples helps . Always good to show those you love with a treat .
Awwww! He’s so cute! 💖 Am I the only one that thinks the auction is a miserable experience for the horses? The noise & the poking & the prodding & the owners that don’t seem to care about them. Then getting jerked around in that little auction pen. I feel sorry for them.
Thankyou for taking us along for the ride. There sure was some beautiful horses there. Glad to see you have a new member to the family. I'm sure he will have a happy life with you. I'll catch you on the next one. ❤
I had a mini donkey growing up and she was just the best. The little donkey at the show looked like a bunny/donkey cross breed and was adorable 🥰 I’m so happy you finally got a friend for your Shetland pony and he’s handsome too!
I love listening to you not only because of your knowledge but the love that you have for the animals. Thank you for all of your hard work. You also have a wonderful family.
Loved the baby donkey. 🥰 I wonder what he went for? So happy that Oliver is no longer in that type of sitiuation. Waiting on pins and needles to see how the vet visit went!!!!
Was hoping you would buy the donkey 🐴 just so cute and loving. Thank You for taking us along. Your knowledge of horses is Amazing. It was fun. You and Your Family have never ending work, but I know what you all are teaching to your children money can not buy. God Bless!
That Hancock Stud colt was stunning! And the little sorrel and white mini stud had me doing a double take! I had an AMHA mini Stud that was stolen a few years back and that guy was his TWIN! I would have SWORN it was him until you showed his teeth, my heart fell.. my boy would be a 14 year old now certainly not a 4 year old. Rocky was only 28” and he was a sweetheart. I still hold out hope that maybe SOMEDAY I’ll find him
Thanks for this look at another, different, auction. I enjoyed seeing the different breeds, and hearing your take on each horse you inspected. As always, things may not go like we hope, but they often work out, in the end. You got a little stud pony, and I'm sure Daisy will come around. Thanks for posting. It's a lot of work, but your viewers enjoy the videos. At least, I do. 🥰
Your videos are so informative, and the tone of voice you use is so soothing to the horses! It is so helpful to hear your play by play instruction and analysis of buying a horse at auction! Thank you!
I Love your humble & knowledgeable attitude with the horses & dealing with people! You’re a Blessing to your Family & all the animals you take care of! I’m really enjoying your channel especially with all the craziness going on in this World! Blessings to All!🐴🥰🙏🏼
This is so exciting. Hi from Germany and I would like to have them all. Beautiful souls. Am widowed by accident and just living with a rescue dog from Hungary (rare breed mudi). But planning more animals when I retire. Love to you all. We have a channel 'Mustang Makeover' on UA-cam about wild Mustangs beeing rescued and flewn to Germany. They are trained here and one called Twister was auctioned for 32.000 € after his recovery and training. They organize training challenges with first class ❤trainers and the development of some nearly half starved Mustangs is amazing.
Awww, I love the minis. They're so spunky! We've got Morgans up here in Vermont, lots of Belgians, too, and thoroughbreds from down near Saratoga, NY. I'm learning all about Foxtrotters on your channel. Nice auction find!
13:45 Good decision. And I refuse to give my precious funds to people who treat me poorly. I don't need to become best friends, but do not treat me like krap if you want my money. There's a zillion other places to spend it. PS Colts is a great find, can't wait to see his first born in the future Colt-sy line😍
That looks like the perfect companion for Daisy. I like him even better than the little paint stud you wanted. I'm kind of surprised a stallion pony would go for that much. (But I've had horses a really long time and haven't been to a sale in a really long time, either. What are the low end prices at that sale like?
That seems to be the low end of a pony! And you don’t see much going below $1200. Most is above $2000 and higher. $3000 to $5000 seems to be a normal price range for an “average” horse at the last couple auctions we were out.
@@homesteadhorsemanship This surprises me. For decades, the low end at an auction was around $250 except one year during a drought when horses were selling for $20 (and it cost more than that to sell them). So you're saying grade horses are bringing $2000+? Maybe you're only going to more upscale sales? In the 1990s, registered Thoroughbred yearlings at yearling sales had a minimum bid of $500 and many sold for that. (And it cost $160 back then to register a Thoroughbred.) My first horse cost $350 and my first AQHA registered 2yo gelding cost $2000 (in 1978).
I was listening to your seriousness when speaking about the horses and I was listening intently …… Then u come upon a new one and say “ I’ve never seen this breed here before”! I busted up laughing 😂! Thank u cuz have had a pretty emotional day so far . So ya! Thanks!
THANK YOU for that education on aging teeth. That was really helpful and the video showed the groove clearly. Also, I’ve watched you at a couple auctions now and I have also watched another UA-camr who goes to a lot of these auctions and I think you have a far better eye than she does. She tends to only look for color and it’s very disappointing as she will pass up the best horses at the auction because of it.

I couldn't have left that cute little donkey. He would've gone home with me. He was sooo cute.

If I had a safe place for that mini donkey, I don't think I could have left without that cute little friend.

That little donkey was pretty cute and friendly.
He really was a sweetie. He would have made Daisy a good friend also!
@@homesteadhorsemanship do you know what the winning bid was for that cute & friendly donkey?

There's NO WAY I could've passed on that little donkey., no way! Colt is a beautiful addition, such pretty coloring and, well he seems rarin' to go!
Love the built-in saddle horn on that first auction "horse"!
😂
What breed was he, posdibky Boran?
The little donkey was super adorable
I would have had to be dragged out without that little donkey. He was so adorable 😭 you can’t take me anywhere, I’ll come back with a stray.

Colt is a beauty, you should get some very pretty babies.
It was nice to see an auction where it wasn’t a kill auction. Those auctions absolutely break me. I’m glad your son doesn’t have to use the wheelchair to actually get around.
The pony you bought has a nicer confirmation than the auction pony.
