False information! Its the seafoam that causes white smoke! Its made with petroleum distillates, MEANING oil, seafoam is not designed to clean catalytic converters! You can literally take the cat out the car and physically clean it and put it back that engine light is gone. I am a mechanic and that’s the truth unless it broken and there holes then that’s a different case but if it’s clogged or dirty, cleaning them will eliminate the light.

I've been a mechanic for 28+ years. Sea foam is not for use In 4 stroke engines! It will destroy catalytic converters. The smoke is not dirt! It's oil that is in the sea foam. This oil will burn and leaves a sticky residue inside your engine. It is designed for 2 stroke engines only! It does not have the nitrogen based additives designed for four stroke engines. So yeah you wanna ruin a catalytic convertor....use it! Sea foam originally was made for 2 stroke marine engines. Will it clean carbon? Yes. But the aftermath of sticky residue will ruin your engine if you continue to use it! So go ahead...and fuck up your vehicle!
Test the converters before you assume they are bad. Just because there is a code does not mean they are bad. Check the temperature using a laser thermometer. The exhaust should always be hotter coming out of the converter than going in. .
Also I'm not trying to say this guy is a bad mechanic. If the converters are bad anyway why not try it. I'm saying don't use sea foam on a regular basis is all.
All that SMOKE 💨does mean it’s dirty.. according to my test! See the video here: ua-cam.com/video/7wfXEgrEDHU/v-deo.html

@AlexTheCarDoctor I got it replaced it at caliber auto care my warranty covered it it was fine for a couple months after but than started again its a 2015 toyota camry
That sounds expensive.
@1_Fish.2_Fish.Red_Fish. definitely was lucky for me I got the warranty to pay for it all after making a complaint and only paid 100$ deductible I was told the issue is still coming and going because the parts are aftermarket and not OEM so I just left it because I can't afford all that it'd too expensive
It fucked by f150 2007 cat haha i change both down o2 sensors disconected battery and still getting it
@@markevans4645Agreed. What does work is lots of lemon juice but the cats have to soak in it
