@keith richards I wish the Stones would do a tour -- or a bunch of one-offs -- where they played nothing but slow songs, like Sweet Virginia, Dead Flowers, Wild Horses, Country Honk, Coming Down Again, Angie, and there are a ton of slow songs on your brilliant Beggars Banquet album that I would love to hear. You know, Mick doesn't have to jump around to songs like "Start Me Up" for it to be a great concert. And your true fans (and there are many) would prefer you and Ronnie and Mick sitting in chairs, with Mick playing harp and you and Ronnie strumming acoustic guitars. I think you underestimate your fans and what their tastes are.

Mr Electricity is Totally correct Rev Gary Davis wrote it as a sermon & Mississippi John Hurt put it to music. Just listen to the first few words. That’s the accent of an elderly man from the Mississippi not Kieths Richard’s typical London accent.
The track is Mississippi John Hurt rendering it at a Newport folk festival.
That’s why it’s the best version you’ve ever heard or ever will.

You are, of course, correct. I posted a similar comment some years ago on another upload of the same tune and it sparked off total mayhem, half the replies agreeing with me, but the other half showering me with abuse - even got 1 death threat! All this Keith Richards controversy started years ago, when this tune was included on a Stones bootleg that ascribed it to K.R. for a laugh. Yesterday, I commented on an upload of The Johnny Burnette Trio's "Train Kept A-Rolliin'", pointing out to the channel host that the praise he was giving to Paul Burlison should really go to the legendary session guitarist Grady Martin, who played all the good bits on their 10" album. Well that went down like a lead balloon, I can tell you! Anyway, have a good one.
