My dad has a Gerber, its amazing im an 12 year old girl, and yesterday was one of the best days of my life! I got my first multi tool!! Im soo happy!! I have always been in love with survival stuff and outdoor things. I've never been camping unfortunately. But, soon my Grandfather is going to teach me how to use it !!!!
Congratulations! My dad gave me my first multitool when I was very young. Been in love with multi tools and knives ever since. Good luck on your journey!
yeah i have an older style leatherman that i use for just about everything, got it from my dad when i was about 12, 7 years later its in near the same condition i got it
Ooh I think you could go wrong with choosing the wrong type Leatherman for your EDC. Lol Such as residing in a cubicle and carrying a Signal or Mut. Maybe get a Leatherman P4 when you work in a metal shaving factory. Other than that.. buying a multi tool and buying American as an American. You can't go wrong in that regard.
I carry a Leatherman wave and rate none above it. I have used it for everything from minor operations to fixing helicopters and planes. It has literally saved my life on one occasion and given so much on countless others. I have had it for twenty years and have no plans to replace it!
Good review of multiple tools. I have a Leatherman Wave I keep in the truck along with a Classic in a cup holder. The tool on me everyday though for the past 16 years is my Victorinox Trekker. If for some reason I can not carry it somewhere I am not happy. Keep em comin'.
Leatherman Rebar all the way.I just slip it into my pocket everyday. It is perfect for my uses. Indoor and outdoor multi tool, strong as ever, I prefer tools on the inside because where I live in New York cops frown on external blades that you can flip open and lock.
I work as a LEO in Canada. I carry a wave+ on my vest for work which handles everything I need for the job. I keep some extra drill bits, a larger knife, measuring tape and anything else in my duty bag but that wave+ handles anything I need immediately throughout my shifts while still being light and unobtrusive. In my personal life I keep a squirt on my keychain and it deals with anything in my day to day life. Of course I always have a full sized tool/tools in my vehicle glove compartment/trunk/console or if I'm riding my bike, in my backpack. I also prioritize comfort and I think that both of these options strike a good balance between utility/preparedness and practicality. I always have additional tools close by in a vehicle and these tools serve their purpose when I am away from my vehicle.
I carry and love the skeletool, it has just enough to be handy and not too much that its heavy and bulky. I also have a SD Classic on my keys. I like it because it's small and you barely notice it on your keys.
I like my Skeletool a lot but it is worn out and needs to be replaced. Maybe I see a good offer one day but the prices around here in Europe are not tempting me. Great presentation and selection btw!
The leatherman wave is definitely the best choice I believe. I owned several from Gerber buck exct and I have broke all except the wave. To me it's the best. It got me out of a burning car 2 yrs ago. My seat belt was jamed and thank goodness I had it on me I had to cut the belt then I used the needle nose plyers to break the glass because the tree had me pend were the door wouldn't open. I was thinking about writing to leatherman and let them know they saved my life but never did.
Don’t dislike a single item on here... I rock a leatherman rev.... a few less tools but looooooove using it.... have used for years and it is my edc other than my benchmade mini grip....awesome combo!! Check out the rev... great functionality for the price
Victorinox Manager - always on my keyring. Same as Classic SD + philips screwdriver + ball pen. SOG Powerpint - always in my pocket. Ideal urban EDC. Small, excellent pliers and 1/4" maghetic bit holder, discent scissors and other useful tools. I never leave the house without those two. Leatherman Surge and Victorinox SwissTool - for heavy-duty tasks. Leatherman Crunch - for special purposes. Victorinox SwissChamp - always in my bag just in case.
LMAO...love your humorous descriptions.. _McGyver - Bad guy in da House - 37,ooolb multitool - Skinnyjean Latte guys - Too Cool 4 School_ LMAO 😂 🤣 1) 3:12 Leatherman Wave 😎👍👍👍 2) SAK Trekker 😎👍👍
I rock the leatherman wingman in the city, but when I'm out of town, I carry my Gerber 600. Its rugged enough for my purposes and snapping the pliers out is my fidget spinner.
Dude. I have been watching all your older videos. You have a ton of great content. I just wanted to stay thank you for taking you time to educate us and show us some great stuff.
I have a Leatherman Rebar. I like it. It's not huge and heavy. All the tools on it are good. Truthfully, though I what I carry most often is combo of: an 8" pliers, a one-handed opening pocketknife(Ontario RAT one), and a Gerber Dime. Sometimes I carry a Leatherman Crater 33 with the fast open option and Phillips and flat screwdriver. .
I have that exact victorinox the red one had it for over a decade. Fixed an old car several times with it. Also love the Gerber I have. I don't recall the name but you can get it at Walmart for under $30 they had a leatherman for comparison and the Gerber was $2 cheaper and had spring loaded players wear as that leatherman didn't. It has served me well these last 2 years.
I never go anywhere without my leatherman signal. My ideal combo will be the signal with a micra. Fortunately, I already have the signal. Now just need the micra
Vic farmer has been my favorite for a very long time. The saw on it is fantastic, and personally I like the extra thickness it has in the hand versus a 2 layer alox knife like the pioneer.
Leatherman Juice S2. Not too heavy or bulky. All the tools I need for the city crawler I am, no extra punch awls or saws, or wood/metal files I don’t use. But still useful and sizable for heavier tasks. Plus, that largest scissors on a multitool.
I use the Swiss Champ by victornox as my EDC pocket knife. Also the Leatherman Micro DOES have a version that comes with a pliers instead of the scissors
Never been a multi tool person. I do like them just haven’t found one I’ve wanted to drop coin on. That being said I do like the mutt and the center drive. At some point it would be nice to see a sil lock key put in one for urban survival. As always great video Chris. Stay safe.
Great video!! I've owned my Leatherman Micra for more than 10 years and done my own review on this. I love this multi tool got the stainless steel version as well as the coloured green version.
i absolutely love my juice cs4. it's got a shit load of tools that I actively use, and it's real compact. I added the file of my surge with it, and it's been in my rotation for years now.
I'm 44 years old and I guess have the mind of a 14 year old. The part of the video that stood out the most to me was when he was repeatedly pulling up and pushing down the Gerber pliers and said "I've never run into a stiff one".
I have carried Multi Tools since the first Leatherman came out. Things change as do needs and designs so now this is what my Wife and I carry. Wife, Leatherman Skeletool. Me, in work the Gerber Dime. Outside of work I carry a Victorinox German Army Soldiers Knife as well as the Victorinox Spirit X.
Honestly I don’t have money for a great multitool right now but I got a 5 dollar ozark trail multitool from Walmart and I’m surprised how well it holds up
What about the leather man squirt? I love mine. I use it so often! I can carry it everyday. I also have the wave. Love it but too big to carry everyday
First one owned is a Victorinox Champ, a very nice one but a bit heavy for daily carry. Got a squirt ps4 on keychain and a midnight minichamp in bag, guess that all i need in an urban area. 😁
I swapped out the victornox classic for a squirt ps 4 for the sole reason of pliers and screwdrivers. I've had that as my edc for over 5 years now, love it. Pliers are under gunned with bigger tasks, but they get by. I also have a sidekick and wave. For basic purposes that I encounter I prefer the sidekick, but the wave is what I backpack with and keep in my pack for all of mountain biking.
The fully metal Ozark trails multi tool is like the best the blade is super sharp right out of the packaging matter fact it’s so sharp I didn’t notice I got cut until I saw the blood on my hand
I have multiple multitools from the wave to gerbers to no names, I keep going to my leatherman blast because it’s just solid enough to be useful and just light and compact enough to not deter me from carrying in my pocket, like my wave does.
I definitely prefer a full multitool, that Gerber looks like my go to. I lean toward a prepper survival edc. But for a lighter, more hiker friendly multitool, the smallest one that includes pliers would be in that bag.
Hey Chris, Great video. Just thought I’d share that almost all the Victornox Swiss Army knifes can have a pocket clip added if you don’t want to put it in a belt pouch. Didn’t want you to miss out on enjoying theSwiss Army knives due to a lack of clip. I’m a big fan of both Leatherman and Swiss Army knives. I have the Leatherman Wave but I have heaps of different Swiss Army Knives. I would say I use the Swiss Army knives more as my EDC but I also use different knives depending on what I’m doing. My wave is always in my car but my Swiss Army knives are in my car, bedroom, handbags, kitchen, tackle box etc.
I personally love the heavy duty leatherman size. I'm a bigger guy, with large hands. I have several leatherman tools, wave, charge, sidekick, and I got a MUT for my birthday a couple years ago. I like the MUT for its size, but its tool set is very specialized for firearm/military use. For EDC I wanted large frame, with a better general tool set, so I got a surge. The MUT goes to the range with me, but my surge goes everywhere else. Now my charge and wave feel like toys...
*I watched 3 other multi-tool vids* 1. I couldn't finish them cuz they were *boring.* 2. Yours was *excellent* & I watch from *beginning to end.* 3. I have tons of SAK's, a micra & a squirt. 4. I'm hunting for my first full size multi.
My favorite edc multi tool is letherman surge . People complain about it's weight but I don't feel it on my hip. I've tried to use others but I just end up wishing I had my surge .
Leatherman may be affordable for you guys in US, but not for me. Just too expensive. Also, a Victorinox SAK is a pocket knife with a few handy tools, not really comparable to a tool with folding pliers, is it?
I rock a center drive and a victorinox huntsman on my belt, as well as a dedicated blade by Kershaw, and for fun I have the midnight mini champ from victorinox, great video
I have a Leatherman PST, Core, Wave, Wave plus, Super Tool 300, Surge, Free P4, Wingman and Squirt PS4. I also own a Gerber mp600 and a mp600 bladeless for air travel. Out of all of my multitools the Wave Plus is my absolute favorite to use and carry.
I edc the Free P4, is is by far the best Leatherman has to offer :) The squirt PS4 is the most usefull on your table :) I got a Surge in my car, aswell
DropForgedSurvival that’s totally right, but since we’re talking about everyday carry, if you use a knife in public, stupid people freak out. If you pull out scissors, nobody cares.
I don't know if it's been mentioned or not (I'm not scrolling through 400 comments), but the big daddy Victorinox multitool is called the SwissTool. There are several variations, and a slightly smaller version called the SwissTool Spirit. The Spirit is my EDC. Slight curve to the handle to make it more comfortable, every tool I need, nothing I don't. Highest possible recommendation.
Cool review,I'm a Victorinox multi kinda guy myself.I have train hopped and hitchhiked all around this country and that thing saved me.I used to rock a Gerber multi tool but the pliers broke on me twice.I would still rock a Gerber though because they are sexy and super light weight.
Good to see this. I have an original Leatherman, and the second iteration of this, with the scissors. Still both going strong, reliable and dependable.
EDC a Gerber suspension. It’s got nice size needle nose pliers w/wire cutter/ stripper, drop point knife, serated knife, bottle opener, can opener, scissors, saw, awl, phillips and straight drivers. One thing I do miss is a file. Note the sheath failed within a week. But had a spare Gerber sheath from another model that I lost. Don’t know what I would do without a good multi tool at the ready.
I keep a Leatherman squirt ps4 in my tackle box when i fish i love it its compact i can cut my line off i can clamp my split shot weights and i can cut up my small baits it is literally the best multitool for a fisherman
I carry a victorinox pioneer and on my key chain I carry the victorinox SD with built in nail clippers and that takes care all the every day stuff I run in to but I carry tools with me in my bag but I'm thinking of getting one of these thanks for the vid
The LM Surge remains the best multitool I have ever owned. Yes it might be big in most people eyes, but I carry it in my edc bag and not on my belt, so for me that’s not a problem. It’s saw blade exchanger is just amazing, and it’s heavy duty construction will sometimes put regular tools to shame. Edit: anyone who crap talks the cutters in the surge has either never used them or are just delusional. Plus it has a heavy duty wire cutter on the back side of the pliers, which will cut through steel wire all day with no marks on it at all (trust me I have tried)
I’m a huge fan of leatherman and Swiss Army knives I have and use both but I think the SAK is just a classic and almost a right of passage for a young boy.
I had a leatherman wave once. I loved it a lot but it went missing one day unfortunately. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the screw driver on it seemed too weak and could probably snap if you gave it too much pressure. Are other leather mans the same or better?
My dad has a Gerber, its amazing im an 12 year old girl, and yesterday was one of the best days of my life! I got my first multi tool!! Im soo happy!! I have always been in love with survival stuff and outdoor things. I've never been camping unfortunately. But, soon my Grandfather is going to teach me how to use it !!!!
Nice!
Sweet!
congratulations!
Awesome 👍

I have a leatherman wingman
I've tried to save money in the past and I always break them before I lose them leathermans I always lose them never brake them.
I carry a Leatherman wave and rate none above it. I have used it for everything from minor operations to fixing helicopters and planes. It has literally saved my life on one occasion and given so much on countless others. I have had it for twenty years and have no plans to replace it!
Curious about the story of how it saved your life?
Tell us the story on how the wave saved your life..mybe I will go buy it
Its allways good and helpful to have a multitool with you especialy for opening beers😁🍺
Good review of multiple tools. I have a Leatherman Wave I keep in the truck along with a Classic in a cup holder. The tool on me everyday though for the past 16 years is my Victorinox Trekker. If for some reason I can not carry it somewhere I am not happy.

Indoor and outdoor multi tool, strong as ever, I prefer tools on the inside because where I live in New York cops frown on external blades that you can flip open and lock.
The rebar is in my top 5 all-time favorite multi-tools. I also think it is Tim Leatherman's personal EDC.
The skeletool was my first multi.... I bought it for the fact that it had the carabeaner so I could hang it off my beltloop at work...
Right on
You should do a fishing gear/tips video. I would love to see that
Mass Bassin45 agreed
Great EDC multi-tool video! 🌺👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I hope your family and you have a wonderful weekend! ☀️🌴😎
I got the squirt and micra for my birthday. While I like the pliers better, I find myself using the scissors more often

I'm a fan of my Gerber MP600. It has most of what I need, but wish it had a clip. Good showing bruh. Love the energy in your vids now. Keep it up!
Love the wingman! Never a bad choice, keep up the great vids!
The leatherman rebar is one of the best multitools I have ever owned. The lightweight, heavy duty build is a real winner for me
I like my Skeletool a lot but it is worn out and needs to be replaced. Maybe I see a good offer one day but the prices around here in Europe are not tempting me. Great presentation and selection btw!
Nice video Chris, there are so many multi purpose tools it was nice to see some I haven’t seen....thanks!!👍😊
Thank goodness. I’m planning on buying a Leatherman soon and needed some expert advice. Great work!
Need a new one GREAT VIDEO👍👍
Started with the wave, did great. Found a surge for a heck of a deal an never went back to the wave
@~6.00 - I like my latte...LOL thats this city boy, ME!!!!! LOL
I’ve carried the Gerber pro scout for over 20 years. Just recently upgraded to the centerdrive.
I have to admit i like the Leatherman line of multi tools as well as a couple of the swiss knives.
Thank you for a informative video.
The leatherman wave is definitely the best choice I believe. I owned several from Gerber buck exct and I have broke all except the wave. To me it's the best. It got me out of a burning car 2 yrs ago. Ernest Walden
Write to them now. You’re still alive so the story is still valid.
Try the Victorinox.
Thank God that you didn’t just have a little Victorinox Classic on you. If you’d thought that was all you needed, you’d be dead right now.
Don’t dislike a single item on here... I rock a leatherman rev.... a few less tools but looooooove using it.... have used for years and it is my edc other than my benchmade mini grip....awesome combo!! Check out the rev... great functionality for the price
Appreciate you showing only the ones you've really used. I like getting a true perspective. On the hunt for one as a gift. TFS

@~11:19 - Leatherman surge...I am buying one!!!
Waiting for blade show to pickup the Gerber center-drive plus.
I think you need a multi tool with a bandaid compartment!
I have a Leatherman Rebar. I like it. It's not huge and heavy. All the tools on it are good. Truthfully, though I what I carry most often is combo of: an 8" pliers, a one-handed opening pocketknife(Ontario RAT one), and a Gerber Dime. Sometimes I carry a Leatherman Crater 33 with the fast open option and Phillips and flat screwdriver. .
Leatherman Wave. EDC for years but now I'm eyeballing the Surge. Got a Wave I leave in my Hayabusa tail storage.
So cool. I love multi tools, whether normal size or mini. I have the mini in my purse or backpack if I'm out and about and need it. Plus, it's purple
I have the Leatherman OHT..... Love it
Leatherman Juice S2. Not too heavy or bulky. All the tools I need for the city crawler I am, no extra punch awls or saws, or wood/metal files I don’t use. But still useful and sizable for heavier tasks. Plus, that largest scissors on a multitool.
Lattes, yes. Skinny jeans, not so much. But, thanks for including us urban dwellers in this.
Men,first tool Leatherman is my the first) And I cannot tell you what this tool survives ! The best gift for a guy
I'm 44 years old and I guess have the mind of a 14 year old. The part of the video that stood out the most to me was when he was repeatedly pulling up and pushing down the Gerber pliers and said "I've never run into a stiff one".
I had all of them and ended up going to the Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit and think it’s unbeatable
Same here !
Heard about the new Leatherman free?
Brandon Todd Yup........ Not blown away by them yet... Needs alot more testing first
Leatherman surge is my carry and I love it.
I don’t go anywhere without my Surge on my belt. Most useful multi tool I’ve owned
Same here. I don't leave the house or walk around the house without it.
House of blades is great for seeing what you want in person but the prices are outrageous. Online prices are up to 50% off
Honestly I don’t have money for a great multitool right now but I got a 5 dollar ozark trail multitool from Walmart and I’m surprised how well it holds up
These look like a lot of good knives
What about the leather man squirt? I love mine. I use it so often! I can carry it everyday. I also have the wave. Love it but too big to carry everyday
First one owned is a Victorinox Champ, a very nice one but a bit heavy for daily carry.
Got a squirt ps4 on keychain and a midnight minichamp in bag, guess that all i need in an urban area. 😁
Midnight mini champ is the way to go 👍
Skeletool CX and my Griffin Pocket Tool are what I mainly use.
I carried a swisstool for 20 years and bought a surge a few months ago. Still lean toward the swisstool.
Fair enough
I own multiple swiss army knives and several Gerber multitools. Leatherman tools were always a bit too expensive for me
Just about my favorite shop in Fort Worth!
I keep a Leatherman PS and CS on a keychain together, weights nothing for my desk job, and a Wave for not a work.
When I get more money I will have some of these... rocking an ozark trail one..
Skeletool CX!!! My everyday carry also goes with my CRKT Squid. I'm a carpenter and outdoorsman and love it!
The fully metal Ozark trails multi tool is like the best the blade is super sharp right out of the packaging matter fact it’s so sharp I didn’t notice I got cut until I saw the blood on my hand

My favorite edc multi tool is letherman surge . People complain about it's weight but I don't feel it on my hip. I've tried to use others but I just end up wishing I had my surge .
I agree. The Surge, Super Tool 300, disappear on my hip. If the weight bothers you. Maybe it's you and not the tool?
Skeletool all day long. Wave for mid weight duty.....surge for heavy work. Skeletool on my pocket and a Surge in my backpack.
Leatherman love!
Wave+ is my first Leatherman. Quality is fantastic
SOG powergrab and power lock are awesome!
Leatherman may be affordable for you guys in US, but not for me. Just too expensive. Also, a Victorinox SAK is a pocket knife with a few handy tools, not really comparable to a tool with folding pliers, is it?
Leatherman Juice is awesome. It's small ultra light and still useful
Leatherman enthusiast wearing a G-Shock Rangeman. This guy would survive any Apocalypse.
Yes another great vid I wanna visit this place one day there selection Looks insane
The vic mechanic only had a few layers of tools the red one you displayed could be a swiss champ, the vic multitool probably is a spirit or spirit x
Right on man
I edc the Free P4, is is by far the best Leatherman has to offer :) The squirt PS4 is the most usefull on your table :)
I got a Surge in my car, aswell
Why do you like the Leatherman Sidekick more than the Wingman. The scissors on the Wingman are valuable.
Never said the scissors were not good. But for most things.. A knife cuts just as simply and precise.
Highest possible recommendation.
iv got a letherman skeletool as my EDC and its the same one iv had for the past 11 years and its still perfect (maybe the blade is a bitt blunt now)
I carry the Schrade ST-11for work. That thing has come in very handy. When I'm not at work I carry the Gerber Dime.
Cool review,I'm a Victorinox multi kinda guy myself.I have train hopped and hitchhiked all around this country and that thing saved me.I used to rock a Gerber multi tool but the pliers broke on me twice.I would still rock a Gerber though because they are sexy and super light weight.
original 1983 Leatherman. I still have two. used one everyday on a ranch since 1983 they are both as tight as they ever were.
I've been drooling over a new Leatherman, but my old trusty original Leatherman is still kicking. How can you retire an old friend?
I keep a Leatherman squirt ps4 in my tackle box when i fish i love it its compact i can cut my line off i can clamp my split shot weights and i can cut up my small baits it is literally the best multitool for a fisherman
I have several of the tools. If I'm honest, the Squirt ps4 is the only one that never rotates and is always with me.
I carry a victorinox pioneer and on my key chain I carry the victorinox SD with built in nail clippers and that takes care all the every day stuff I run in to but I carry tools with me in my bag but I'm thinking of getting one of these thanks for the vid
Am a big fan of the Victorinox Pioneer...a big thumbs up for the quality and usefulness...two units stolen from my bag
Leatherman surge. The best.
it is a solid tool
I had a leatherman wave once. I loved it a lot but it went missing one day unfortunately. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the screw driver on it seemed too weak and could probably snap if you gave it too much pressure. Are other leather mans the same or better?
Ive been using victorinox swisstool spirit for 35 years, my very best and it's built to last...
Thanks for the feedback
