    Love, love, love your self-binding technique. Your instruction was "spot on". Thank you!

    This is an easy binding technique but there is only one layer of fabric right along the edge of the quilt. It would be OK for a wall hanging, table topper, etc., but how well is it going to hold up to use? If the batting is trimmed to 1/2" and enclosed when the fabric is folded over it would be a thicker edge.

      There’s two layers because it’s folded over. 😊

    Love the self bind quilt technique! I've made it with a larger binding for a baby quilt. This also makes it easy for those mitered corners!! Thank you Stacey and Niels for another great tutorial!!!

    Boy! What a great idea! Thanks, Stacey. I am going to try and find a left compensating foot for my Singer sewing machine because I have trouble sewing a 1/8” SA that looks decent!😊. Thanks for all of your hard work. I LOVE your top. You look spiffy! Pat

    Very nice technique. Thank you for the demonstration. I will definitely use this, as binding is not my favorite part of quilting! I do not have a compensating foot for my machine, so I use my Blind Hem Foot, (which also has a guide), with a straight stitch and it works out well. The needle must be positioned correctly though, so it doesn't hit the foot.

    I love your tutorials. Question - did you fold the binding to the edge of the quilt first and then fold it onto the top? Otherwise it would be a raw edge? I maybe not understanding that correctly.

    • @staceyleecreative
      @staceyleecreative  3 місяці тому

      Yes that's correct, fold and then fold again. 😊

    Although an old sewer I’m a new quilter, please, why do you need such a large over/under lap of the backing fabric only to later cut it back to one inch for the binding? It seems such a waste. Many thanks Pat H.

    • @SewWhittle
      @SewWhittle 4 місяці тому

      You need the extra fabric due to the quilting process of the long arm. I’m sure someone out there can explain in more detail.

    • @staceyleecreative
      @staceyleecreative  4 місяці тому

      You could have used a little less, but it's in case things shift extra.
