I have been sewing since I was 9. Soon be 77 yrs. Sewing for joy and to assist those in need is good for you. Keep your head working w measuring, planning, sorting thru my stash..Yes. I have a fair size one even now. My kids and grandkids all have quilts and knitted items. Young people today do not have hobbies that will result in something done while anxious, waiting thru a difficult pregnancy, illness, etc. If we can do something with our hands we look back at accomplishments, not lost time and depression. Lessons from a long life with its share of upset and downs. Have a nice day!
Hi Margaret, thanks for leaving such a lovely comment! You are so right. It is wonderful having a hobby to keep us busy and stop our minds wondering. 🤗
Please don't assume that "young people today" are hobby-less, or don't have hobbies that make things. It's extremely dismissive of several generations of people you don't even know. One should NEVER paint people with such a broad brush. I currently know multiple generations of hobbyists that do many kinds of things! Like woodworking, multiple kinds of crochet and knitting, sewing, painting (large and small, canvas to vehicles to murals), jewelry making, gardening, jelly & jam making, canning, and soapmaking. Some of my friends do multiple things on this list, as do I. I know some that are even learning NEW hobbies; as am I, in fact. These friends I refer to above range everywhere from 15 to 62, as well. Im pretty sure every generation of those "young people today" of which you complain are covered in that group. It's quite rude to assume that just because YOU don't know any "young people today" that can make something, they don't exist. That kind of attitude gives anyone over 60 a bad name. I can assure you that they absolutely do exist. In fact, many of them have UA-cam channels (and other social media) sharing what they make, and how to make them! Perhaps seek them out and see that youve misjudged entire generations of people.
Hi! I’m 22, I used to work a lot when I first had my daughter. Recently I’ve been able to stay at home and enjoy my little one, I have started a small business in making chunky yarn blankets by hand! I definitely am obsessed with crafts I just never had the time as I do now. I think it’s beautiful to pass down to my daughter and looking into quilting now as well. She’ll always have something made from me🥹

I am 81 but when I was a bit younger, I was a foster parent and it is so rewarding. I am still in touch with many of my girls as they send me pictures of their families and I am so proud to feel that I was able to make a difference in their lives. Thank you for the tutorials, I love quilting and have made a baby quilt for each of my new grand-babies.

I’ve been searching for some time now looking for a tutorial on making a quilt and you are the only in my search that actually teaches & gets right to it. So many you tubers waste peoples time with talking and talking and talking and it has nothing to do with teaching.. a big thank you. I also am fairly new to quilting. I have made the easy rag quilt for a baby shower gift and there is really no messing up on that one. Also just made a 9 large rectangular block lap quilt. No binding, I have not conquered that yet, and it turned out ok. I rushed thru it and didn't get all straight or should I say even. The material I had to work with was very stretchy. Any tips on how to work with stretchy material so I don't mess up on the lining up the blocks? TIA for the replies.
I've watched several videos now on how to finish a quilt without binding it. You are much easier on the ears and don't waste our time showing every stitch in regular time -- I liked the way you sped up the video when you were stitching. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this tutorial, I love the way it is done! More importantly, thank you for sharing this donation drive for children in foster care! My husband and I did foster care for 15 years. When the children arrived at our door (most often) they came with only the clothes they were wearing. This is an absolutely wonderful thing to do for a child who’s life has been completely turned upside down! Thank you!!❤
Thanks so much Dena. I am planning my donation quilt drive again this year, and every year I hope to get more and more quilts for children in foster care. You can find out more here: www.stacey-lee.com/2023/01/14/2023-quilt-donation-drive/

Just made my first quilt with this method. I put batting in and it was still quite easy. I never felt brave enough to try binding so this was great. Thank you.
Hi Artie, yes much easier. I have another video that shows how to make self binding which uses the backing as the binding. That is also a nice quick alternative 🤗
Thanks for this easy to follow tutorial. I am going to try it with some denim squares and flannel for backing I have been saving. Your tutorials are so easy to follow.

You are the best instructor, you are clear and detailed. I am going to do this no binding quilt. I just cannot do the binding yet. Thank you for all your help. God Bless You.
Nice pattern, thanks! One tip I do that i find helps closing the turning hole is to trim that area about 1/4 inch bigger, it gives you a little more to turn in. Clip the ends of that piece on the diagonal and your ends are a touch longer to tuck in as well. I've been quilting a number of decades, this little tip does help a lot for quilts/blankets that you aren't binding.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I finally finished my daughter's quilt I started almost 2 years ago. It's my first one, and I was so intimidated by the idea of batting and making the sandwich. This was so much easier and turned out beautiful. I can't wait to surprise her with it!!
I have just watched my first video and I’m hooked! Your calmness welcomes us in to use a new technique, and your attention to detail is awesome! I have recently started using this method to make reversible table runners and wall quilts. I also make children’s comfort quilts using a panel and a few borders. I use a regular cotton batting and backing.
This is soooooo cool! Normally I do crocheting but I got a new sewing machine for my birthday. My daughter made her boyfriend a quilt and she inspired me to do one! I love this idea!

Love all of your videos and appreciate your wonderful teaching skills. One of the things I do with my scraps is to make scrappy "kennel quilts" of various sizes that I donate to local shelters for cats and dogs. These are much smaller quilts that fit into kennel carriers and/or are used for the rescued animals to have something warm to lay on. I think it's important that each of us give back and using our scraps is such an awesome way to create needed items to help those in need!!

Thank you for such a detailed video. I had seen a pillowcase backed quilt video two years ago but couldn't find it this morning. Glad to find yours. I'm a new quilter and just want to make a lot of baby quilts for donation for piecing practice. This backing/binding technique is super helpful.

I am always a day late and a dollar short. 3 years late on this video. I love this idea of no batting and no binding. You say you use fleece...is there a special kind of fleece? I love quilting especially EASY tops. Thank You and Blessings.
Thank you so much! 😊 There’s no special kind of fleece required-you can use regular fleece from any fabric store. It’s a great option for easy, cozy quilts without the need for batting or binding. I’m glad you loved the idea, and I hope you enjoy making more easy tops! Blessings to you too! 🌟

I am going to do this no binding quilt. I just cannot do the binding yet. Thank you for all your help.
God Bless You.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words 🤗 You might like to check out some of my other videos, I have on with an easier way to do binding ❤️
Wow, you're super organized and talented
Thanks so much Jody! I appreciate your kind words ❤️
Thank you for the easy to follow instructions 😊
Glad you liked them Tamara! I appreciate you watching my video and taking the time to leave a comment 😊
Thanks so much Cathy and that is a great tip :)

That's also how I do mine and I've done over size kings and finished with tracks since I only have a standard machine
Love the perfect description. Thank you, very detailed
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I finally finished my daughter's quilt I started almost 2 years ago. It's my first one, and I was so intimidated by the idea of batting and making the sandwich. This was so much easier and turned out beautiful. I can't wait to surprise her with it!!
That’s awesome, I’m glad it helped 🤗

Same here, I am finally jumping in with both feet. I have been too intimidated but Stacy make this look easy and FUN. Thank you. 🥰😍
I'm that same way, too intimidated to complete my quilt but this has given me courage. I love Stacey's video.
That's awesome! Thanks so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it ❤
This is soooooo cool! Normally I do crocheting but I got a new sewing machine for my birthday. My daughter made her boyfriend a quilt and she inspired me to do one! I love this idea!
Congratulations on the new sewing machine! You are going to to live quilting 🤩
I am beginning quilting. I'm not very good at binding yet. I like this method. I'm trying to teach myself.

That's a great idea! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment ❤
Thanks! I’m a complete novice with regard to quilting and, having watched your video, I feel confident to have a go x

Brilliant!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
