Thanks for taking the time to provide this very clear and concise video! Do you know anything about the speed charging options decreasing the life of the battery, as opposed to the slower/normal onboard charging option?
The inlet socket for the slow charger is badly positioned. There ought to be an inlet position under the seat, or some other way of locking the cable in, so it can't be pulled out for the live end to fall in a puddle.
Thank you for the video I appreciate the three different ways to charge my question now is for the Anderson connector that charger that you had in the picture do you have a stock number for or any way of finding out where to buy one of those and does that hook to the Anderson connector and also to the wall. The help will be greatly appreciate it thank you.
10-06919 is the part number. You can also google zero quick charger. Here is a pdf of the accessories catalog. zero-cms-disco.cdn.prismic.io/zero-cms-disco/45088840-5825-4606-a46f-e776ea51e123_2022-zero-accessories-catalog-digital.pdf
Hello! I also live in Michigan and am super interested in getting a Zero bike. I dont have a motorcycle licenses though. I did some googling and saw that in Michigan you dont need a license to ride an "electric bike"....is a Zero classified as "electric bike"? or would i need to get a motorcycle license to ride it on public roads?
Okay, I'm dumb, is that a charge tank you have installed as the 3rd option, I'm wanting a 7.2 DSR or S bike but don't want to spend the $2500 or so for a charge tank. Thanks!
Yes. You can get a charge tank or extra battery for that area later if you want. 7.2 is fine for me. I only got the charge tank cause it was Discounted on this bike. Otherwise would prefer to have the storage.
Hello Yooper buddy or lower MI buddy..im from Upper Peninsula...not to many zeros around this area ...at all...i found a 2011 Zero S for sale for Under $6,000.00 .. it has under 2000 miles on it...I was just wondering if you know if that model 2011 S Zero has the J1772 charger on it?? You think its a good deal? okay hope to hear from you soon!
Not all Zeros have the J1772 on them. It is an option that can be added to modern ones either at the factory OR at the Dealer. But I don't know if ones from 2011 had that capability.
Thanks for the great breakdown. How's the battery life on the DS? I'm sure it varies for everyone but I'm curious to know what you're averaging and what kind of city vs highway ratio you're doing.
@@georgepelton5645 yeah I think zero has said something like tens of thousands of miles, if not more, expected before going down to 80% battery capacity.
haha maybe if you have the right adapters for a non Supercharger station. The bike accepts AC at up to around 6kw via the j1772. It won't work on a smart DC tesla charger like a super charger. But if you find a dumb Tesla AC charger like a Destination charger at a hotel, and the right adapters, then it might work.
Now that you’ve had the DS for a few months can you confidently say it was worth the purchase? Looks awesome, can’t wait to get one. Thanks for the vid.
I don't know why it struck me so funny, just the way you crumpled up the paper when you were done with it. Big grins.
Thanks for taking the time to provide this very clear and concise video!

Not sure.
Has a good warranty though.
And honestly I Rarely use the 6kw charging.

Also. You can buy them online from dealers etc.
And yes, plug into a normal wall outlet.
Thank you very much
Great tips thanks. Pick mine up Tues. 21 DSR.
for the 14.4kWh battery S you can charge with charge tank 6kW and the normal AC outlet 1.3kW together.
Is rhe j1776 port from the 6kw rapid charge option
What would you need to install in the house for the charge tank
hey do you know if the 2010 zero s model had the quick charge port or the j1772 plug?
If you have the charge tank installed to charge the bike public does this means you can also use in case de domestic plug at home instead or not ?

You need to get an M1 license endorsement to operate a zero motorcycle. It is not an electric bike.
Zeros are Motorcycles! Not ebikes.
The electric bike regulation is for pedal assist ebikes

Is that with a charge tank or normal tank
How much does it cost to charge your Zero at home?

Look up Zero charging, lots of vids of people using J1772 to 110v or adding fast chargers.
Thanks for doing this bud !!
Thanks for the great breakdown. How's the battery life on the DS? I'm sure it varies for everyone but I'm curious to know what you're averaging and what kind of city vs highway ratio you're doing.
I get about 70 miles max doing a mix of city and medium highways...in the 45mph to 55mph range.
Going 45 is so much more efficient than 55mph :)
Battery life? Zero provides a 5 year warranty. I am expecting 10-15 years before dropping below 80% capacity.
@@georgepelton5645 yeah I think zero has said something like tens of thousands of miles, if not more, expected before going down to 80% battery capacity.
I read somewhere that you can plug in the J1772 plug and the 120 V plug at the same time, and charge a bit faster. Is that true?
I will test that out. I am not sure.
I just made another video about that you can see. Results are inconclusive since it wasn't easy to tell nor a long enough test.
Thank you...
Thank you
When you say, "public charger" does that mean a Tesla station?
haha maybe if you have the right adapters for a non Supercharger station.

Will it work to charge with the level 2 charger & the level 1 at the same time?
I will have to test that out.
It might!
Hi, is it better for battery to charge it to 90%?
I don't think zero actually lets you top it off to 100%. There is a buffer at the top and bottom.
how i can take out the battery and charge it inside the house please let me know
👍

Yes, I like it a lot.
So clean and fun to ride.
