Zero App Setup And Charging with A J1772 Adapter

- Setting up the app for the first time. Charging the bike at an EV charge station using a J1772 adapter plug using the stock charger and cord. I'm starting to get wheelies already!!!!
Great video (and other Zero videos). The L2 station showed 6kW, but it did only charge at the onboard speed of 650W. If you want to charge faster, you need a faster external charger (like bring the Zero accessory chargers with you). Keeping the bike weight and size down doesn't allow a larger charger to be had currently. I'm torn between DSR (for faster charging) and FX for fun size/weight...
Appreciate that info. I thinking about going to Kapolei to get one.
isn't DSR fast charging an option only
There are less expensive the the Zero accessory chargers like a Elcon TC HK-J 3300W Charger. The run around $450
What's to stop the live end of the kettle lead from pulling out from the bike and trailing in a puddle on a wet day? For bikes that want to access outdoor charging, charging inlet sockets should be inside a lockable cubby, with only a groove for the cable. Otherwise plugs need to lock in e.g. type 2 (or Chadmo in the US).
Just found your videos today - Love them so far. Going to get a Zero soon.
Welcome aboard!
Lmao when you pulled up to the charger my mind was fried because I heard the sound of the engine next to you
Picking up my SR/F Premium this weekend. Subbing for quality content. Keep it up, bud.
Hell yeah!
I love that bike!!😁😎
It was an awesome bike
@@Mayhemjach I bet! Why did you sell it?
@@ArmaniAdon not enough range and the spots to charge always had a car in it
@@Mayhemjach I can definitely see that a problem!.. Thanks for the info bro you stay safe out there!
Very nice bike. I’ve never owned a road bike. I road a lot of dirt bike and quads growing up but I wanted a Sur Ron at first but maybe this now if I can find one for a decent price lol my only worry is finding charge stations.
So much fun
That adapter works on the sur ron too but need to carry the charger too
That’s what I bought it originally for. So cool
You can change the display settings to add the clock!
Might need to update this video…
Were you referring to the 6kw charging? Lol
thx for there video - have you found a better adapter for those public chargers? I have a Chargepoint charger home for our EV, and am considering a FX but the limited charging options concern me. I'd like to just plug it into my EV charger
This is a good adapter, it works at all the charge stations. If you want faster charging you have to buy an aftermarket charger.
I luv this content!
Thanks man
The new content is going to be amazing with this!
Charging 7.2 kWh battery at 700W is way too slow. Maybe Zero company offer optional fast charger for this bike?
I contacted an aftermarket company for a charger. Waiting for reply
I have wanted one of these for months.... I just learned about sur ron's yesterday and how they mod them. It seems to me that the sur runs are way, way easier to repair if needed. A lot of people have problems with zero's and have to go to dealers who don't know what they're doing if they have a problem. But on the other hand I think if you get a surron basically perfect it won't be as good as the FX and you'll probably have more money into it getting there. Anyway I am going to sub I like your channel. mahalo
Thanks for the sub. Watch my previous videos. I fully built one of those. See why I went back to stock.
@@Mayhemjach I've watched most of your vids I don't think you went back to stock haha.
I will prob end up buying both but right now I'm thinking an x160 and 60v52ah battery would be a better choice for the riding I want to do.
@@squarecracker right on! I just meant stock power. 😂
@@Mayhemjach Yeah just went back and watched that after I read your comment. Hopefully the lightspeed works out for me but I'm going to keep watching your channel. Can't believe you got a ridgeline too---you got all my dream vehicles.
@@squarecracker the Ridgeline is pretty sweet. 65k miles with no issues
So funny to hear you say in this video how a sur Ron doesn't compare to the Zero then in later videos selling this bike for a Talari (Sur Ron).
Lol. A surron could never do 90 mph on the street. So yes, it doesn’t even come close. I never sold it for a Talaria. I’ve always had a surron, Segway x260 and now a talaria. I sold it because the range sucks. Lol. I just bought a gas bike and probably will never own another electric road worthy bike again. It’s more of a pain in the ass then fun
@@Mayhemjach Wow, if you are saying that, living in Hawaii then on the mainland it would be even worse. I lived on Kauai for 20 years before moving back to Calif. I have had two Sur Rons and hated the both for the lack of range. I am looking at getting a CAB Eagle that will shit on a Sur ron in range, speed, power.
Love watching your vids cuz I miss Hawaii but I could never afford a house there or I would come back in a flash....the rich assholes have priced the common man and locals out of buying property there and I hate that.
nice
Where can i find this adapter ? Can you drop a link ?
amazon
J1772 to Nema 5-15
Theres a cloc in the settings
I have a 2021 E-Vader 2000w Electric Motorcycle from Venom Motorsports USA! It uses a standard 110v charger. Will this work on my motorcycle?
no unfortunately, the charger would need to be 220v compatible
Can you please add a link for the charger adapter, thanks

Hey man so sick! I’m getting an emoto from China that’s 72v 120ah and would just like to be able to have something like that, where I can plug and play. For some reason I’ve seen people saying the chargers are 240v and not 110… is it safe for me to charge the bike with the same setup you have going on?
Sick. Yeah it should be fine to charge
Got a link for that ev charger adapter?
www.evseadapters.com/products/j1772-ev-adapter-for-ebike/
Please notice this adapter work only for 240 volts circuit.
Unfortunately my charger indicates a 100-120 volts range.
There is absolutely no mention of 240 volts comparable.
Therefore, this adapter may blow up my charger, is that correct?
@@drippingjuices if it doesn’t say 120-240 then yes. It will not work
Is the power and speed the same whether it is the 3.6 FX or the 7.2?
Half power. Speed I’m not to sure about
What app do u use for this ?
The app is GPS kit
@@Mayhemjach the name off app is GPS kit ? Thank u so much
Would that charger adapter work on a sur ron/ segway x260 ?
Yup, sure would. That’s what I bought it for originally. Surron chargers are 110/220
Where can i buy this adapter?
I bought mine online. I just googled j1772 adapter
@@Mayhemjach thank’s
That adapter for the charging station is exactly what I need! Where did you get it?
What is the adapter called
It’s in the title of the video
@@Mayhemjach thank you
Are surron x260 bikes able to use parts from a surrom light bee ? thanks everyone much love
Not that I know of. Totally different bike
@@Mayhemjach thanks bud. greetin from west australia we out here in another paradise riding EV wheels up homie : )
@@Mayhemjach hey bud . i spoke to a few sellers they said the parts are all good for both bikes
@@cheeseburger4688 cool
Why ya chose fx over fxe?
I didn’t like the way the FXE looked in person.
