They say no, she goes and cries, get angry at Playmobil, makes a wish or some other magic shit. Mune was a great watch, though I could wager critically not the best. I LOVED the pivotal segment being animated in 2D, easily my favorite part of the movie, especially how it ties in with the idea of Mine being the new 'ruler' or 'leader' of the Dream world or whatever it was (been a while since I saw the film).
Yes! That is what I want to see in a movie! Comical interesting adventure! It has good jokes, the characters are VERY well written, and I laughed at almost all of the jokes! True art.
The Lego Movie: "Who are you?" Playmobil the Movie: "I'm you!" The Lego Movie: "......Buuuuut??" Playmobil the Movie: "No, that's pretty much it. I'm just you."
I actually had a sweet Playmobil country-house setup with all the family characters, some livestock etc. Purchased for me in '93ish. I never played with it, but I played with Lego all the time at my grandma's house. Lego just allows for way more creativity in the building process, something that really appealed to young me
This is why whenever someone says "Things can't possibly get worse than this...", I always tell them, "Trust me. It can ALWAYS get much worse than anyone can ever imagine....."
I think it's actually a good thing, more and more companies are coming out and experimenting with animation, you might just strike gold if you continue
Me and my family were watching this and making fun of it loudly because we were alone in the theater, and then some random old guy just walked in on the movie in the last 10 minutes of it and we were all so confused-
I can tell you a delayed movie: The Queen's Corgi has just started popping up in trailers in Australia. It doesn't have a release date yet, but it says coming soon.
i literally played with these since i was old enough not to eat them, and as a current owner of a 4 floor house and half a closet of stuff i'm seriulsy disapointed.
Just an idea: What if the movie went a different route? Okay just hear me out: We don't know what's up at the beginning of the movie. We just see the girl and her brother living life, but something just seems off. They both are rather quiet, even if the girl is constantly putting on a fake smile for her lil bro Charlie, who doesn't seem to respond to it. Charlie doesn't talk at all and spends most of his time playing with Playmobile for whatever reason. After many unsuccesful attempts at getting her brother to talk, Marla decides to just sit down and play with him. The movie then changes into animation, which is all basically in their heads. It becomes more up-beat as the siblings just go on this fantasy quest in their heads while Marla is trying to reach out to Charlie. Near the end tho after Charlie just tries to ignore his sister more and more she screams at him that he should finally open up and talk to her. NOW we find out their parents died. It could have been hinted at troughout the movie trough maybe pictures in the house and the sibling's behaviour, but it becomes explicitly clear now. Charlie opens up that he was ignoring real life because they used to play Playmobile with their parents and that's the only connection he has left of them blah blah something like that, but then it's like "Oh but you have your sister and you're both missing them so you need to both be there for eachother" and then maybe the animation stops, it returns to real life as they hug. Maybe a time skip of Charlie leaving therapy to be picked up my Marla, being much happier. Idk just an idea
I noticed that when I’m talking about a play or something I pronounce it theater like it’s supposed to be said but when I’m talking about going to a movie I say it as “thee ater”
You need to review mune. Mune is such a great movie, I watched it so many times! The character designs are great, the backgrounds/scenes are so pleasing uwu
“It’s not popular here in America.” Remembering my childhood where I played with so many playmobil sets and figurines: Yeah...... not that popular..... sure......
It’s really not though. I don’t think any American Box stores sell it. You have to buy it online. Where lego even the corner store will sell off brand Lego.
@@UnluckyOctopus I guess it might have just been where I lived, we used to have them all the time in stores when I was little. I did live in the Midwest though so maybe that’s why I had them.
@@claudiabrown1931 I know for me the first time I saw Playmobil was when one of my friends (whose dad was military) brought out a bin of them for us to play with.
I researched it. March 5, 1963: the Hula Hoop, a hip-swiveling toy that became a huge fad across America when it was first marketed by Wham-O in 1958, is patented by the company's co-founder, Arthur “Spud” Melin.
Mune is actually pretty good When I had Netflix it was my favorite movie on there Looks pretty good, storywise some things arent explained and it's kind of bland. But I enjoy it, it's pretty cute and just in general looking forward to your review
I remember almost tearing my movie seat's leather armrests with my fingernails when i first saw the trailer for this film. The LEGO Movie is my favourite film, ever. I love it to death and it means a lot to me since it brought me though a difficult time in my life. It's so clear what Playmobil The Movie is, and what it was trying to rip off, and it is absolutely shameless. I feel so sorry for Daniel,,,
But hey, that's the Hollywood game for ya. One year they give us a banger of a movie, and then the next year they sacrifice their artistic integrity for a fat paycheck.
The most baffling thing is how they even tries to release it into countries where the toys WERE NEVER EVEN FOR SALE. Like in Indonesia with Lego movie at least Lego enters the country in the mid 00s, while the bootlegs have been for sale for decades that everyone already have a rudimentary knowledge of what a "Lego" is. But Playmobil? Never on sale, never bootlegged, never have any cultural presence. Even as a shameless marketing piece, if a kid watch it and actually ends up liking Playmobil then they wouldn't be able to buy it anywhere, unlike Lego. It's utterly baffling.
Here’s something you might find interesting you know the character ook ook, The caveman guy he is voiced by Kirk Thornton, and you wanna know who else he voiced, shadow the hedgehog from the sonic series.
Like he said, it’s more popular in Europe than America. I remember playing with PlayMobil as a kid but not as much as LEGO - those ninjago dragon sets were the best 👌👌
Sovient Assassin the internet is a big place, with a lot of people in it so statistically at some point people are going to come up with the same idea doesn’t mean I stole it, plus if I was going to steal a comment I’d steal something a little funnier than a stale meme. It’s a pretty common meme template and the idea that the film is a rip-off if the Lego movie goes well with the meme, the chances are that more than a few people are gonna put 2 and 2 together. Get a little perspective and don’t be so accusatory without any proof. (Also idk if u know how comments work but you can’t see where your own comment in terms of position it just appears below the pinned comment so the argument that I just looked at the comment supposedly above mine is bs) also it’s steal not steel, this isn’t the metal works lol
I absolutely loved Playmobil and I had so many sets. I even had a film that came out much much much earlier than this one. The old one was so good and actually quite creepy. Honestly, this new movie shouldn't exist, but it doesn't deserve such hate either. Playmobil was my entire childhood and I loved it much more than Lego. I wish they did better on this.
I can speak from someone who lived in Germany for 4 years during my childhood, yes Playmobil is huge in Germany, even to the point where there's a theme park.
There were also TV-shows and video games way before Lego. I live in the town the creator came from, and I played with it all the time. So I'm really not okay with America inexplicably hating everything I like.
@@fermintenava5911 oh my gosh that's right there were TV shows. I can't remember for the life of me what they were about though. There was also that pirate Playmobil movie.
FUN FACT! The father of the main characters was going to be interpreted by Weird Al. Then he declined. Probably he would have made this movie better with his small role in it.
FosterThePeople All the other kids with their better run better run, outrun my gun. All the other kids with their pumped up kicks better run better run faster than my bullets. How the hell did my autocorrect get all that?
Is it me, or does that Emperor guy, especially with those sunken eyes make him look like a cheap knock-off version of Turbo from Wreck-it Ralph? Playmobil is popular in the UK too. They even release Advent Calendars for them. A UA-camr called Ashens reviews bad advent calendars every year and did one for Playmobil a few years back. Very funny and entertaining videos.
I find this amazing when you said that 5$ movie ticket is cheap. I live in Poland and 5$ it's actually the price in the most expensive cinema theaters, in other places it's usually around 3,75$
Sony marketed the hell out of the Emoji movie and internet reviewers got people to see it via “check this shit out”. Playmobil on the other hand is a second rate toy that no one really likes.
What I truly loved about the Lego movie was the different perspectives of the kid and his dad outside of the Lego world. On one side of the coin, the father is using legos to create product to showcase his company and the vision of his industry. On the other side, the kid sees the legos as imaginative tools to create his own imaginative world. Its also clever how Emmet reflects the kid while President Business reflects his father. The minute the dad realized his son made him the villain of his imaginative world was when he had a change of heart in how he views legos. This movie was impactful becuz of the inclusion of a parent. Having parents die right away in the Playmobil movie took away any connection of why this playset was important to the main girl character.
For the record: Mune is great, especially in Ultra HD. I ususally don't care about resolution that much, but what drives that picture, is the visual aspect. I highly recommend it.
Imre Eszenyi I’ve watched Mune before, and it was actually pretty good! Not the best movie ever, but it was good and the animation was well done I think

I actually had a sweet Playmobil country-house setup with all the family characters, some livestock etc. Purchased for me in '93ish. I never played with it, but I played with Lego all the time at my grandma's house. Lego just allows for way more creativity in the building process, something that really appealed to young me

@@Hia_SuS Yep. Of course, not really good.
Just an idea:
What if the movie went a different route?
The emperor was modeled after Emperor Nero from Ancient Rome. That guy turned people into candles. That's terrifying.

@@paulrippcord506 In the US that may be true, but as Saberspak already said, it's a rather big thing here in Europe.
Playmobil, the extra shittier version of the LEGO Movie.
