So hopefully Hollywood understand the message(bring back the 80s and 90s traditional animations style in the 2020s).

I extend my worthless love to you Pan, for featuring Alien News Desk on your list of great animated shows from this year. I'm happy you found it good enough to stand up with the big boys on that list.
Pretty much what Netflix does for their more artisy films. They do limited theatrical releases to qualify for the awards, and to please directors who really want to their films to have a theatrical release and not go straight to streaming.
Hey Pan, as a fellow Mexican, I think that you should know that the Playmobil Movie was marketed heavily in Mexico. There were ads on the radio and on tv and every time I went to Cinépolis this past summer there would be ads for it.
Fun story! I went to see Promare (excellent movie) yesterday, only for the theater they TOLD us was playing Promare to be ACTUALLY showing Playmobil. After some confusion we were redirected to the correct theater, but it was still something else.
"Lego featured batman, starwars ,NBA and bionicle for like 1 second" Ouch, especially since Bionicle not only saved lego back in the day from bankrupcy but was also the first lego series to have a movie. 4 movies and it did pretty well on the first. What a slap in the face from lego, it brought so much for Lego and they just couldn't care less. When they DID re-release Bionicle later on they didn't bother with advertising it. They hoped fans would advertise it for them and wondered why it nearly bankrupt them. Lego just don't care about the one thing that kept them alive.
I took my 4 year old nephew to watch it since it was supposedly a movie for all ages. Little did I know I was greeted with a "your parents are dead" scene in the first few minutes of the movie. Kind of a heavy subject for a child to take in.
About the Porsche advertising. The concept behind advertising to kids is predicated on the fact that most wont be able to afford one. However, Porsche doesn't make its money by selling to everyone. They're a niche brand. The idea is that the small percentage of kids who do grow up to be able to afford a luxury sports car most likely wont be basing the bulk of their decision on the specifications of the car itself. Instead they'll want to buy their dream car. Porsche wants to be that dream car and one way they can do that is by making a lasting impression on kids.

I pity you.
@@TheLeaderishere Don't, those sets kicked ass, and also the quality was superior.
Sure, they are ripoffs, but they're awesome toys in their own right.
@@TheLeaderishere The quality is indeed better with Playmobil and Lego rip them off when they started to add the figurines and based their whole line in their licenses rather than the build-your-own-everything they once had, something Playmobil still offers. Today, Lego's are not much different than Funko Pop's, all about licenses of properties.
I mean, I'm a hardcore LEGO fan and even I know Playmobil's not to be messed with.
Also _yo, Super Milk-chan pic!_
@@c.l.m.c.3328 Ah, yes. My wife likes Super Milk-chan even though she has never watched it, she likes the design. So I used a Super Milk-chan for my thing.
Amd yes, Playmobil are a ripoff, I won't say they aren't, but again, on their own right they a cool toy. The thing is, one can enjoy both, but I have feelings only for one because I never got LEGO, so it's pure nostalgia and subjectivity. The quality is better, that's not subjective, but the price is higher because of it.
I can only imagine Forky and Toothless making bets about what movie will win a Razzie.
STX's animation is rather solid; not technically groundbreaking but expressive and appealing enough. I hope they get to do something that's actually good in the future.
I remember that one time that playmobile actually have a cartoon series that i dont remember the title is. The show is about four friend: a prince, a female pirate, a fairy girl and a sci-fi spy become friend and go on adventure on four different land that repesent each of their home, the prince kingdom, the fairy magic forest, the pirate sea that fill with many island and the spy sci-fi city.
super 4!! i used to watch it on CITV all the time
2019 was wrost year about 3D animations but a great year for 2D traditional animations you know movies like: Promare, Klaus, Weathering With You, I Lost My Body, One Piece: Stampede and even something tells me that My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising will be great.
So hopefully Hollywood understand the message(bring back the 80s and 90s traditional animations style in the 2020s).
I think it's important to note how much effort was put into the animation. So, all else aside, good job guys. Would have been easy to phone it in and make crap, but you made it look good regardless and that's worthy of some praise.
Just realized that the Mario movie will star the lead actor from The LEGO Movie as Mario and the lead actress from Playmobil: The Movie as Peach
a left turn at Albuquerque of animated movies this is
I extend my worthless love to you Pan, for featuring Alien News Desk on your list of great animated shows from this year. I'm happy you found it good enough to stand up with the big boys on that list.
The 2020s will bring none because almost every movie got canceled or delayed
Adam Lambert is the singer/collaborator for queen. Yes that queen.
Klaus had a little premiere on theaters, so the movie can go to the oscars
Pretty much what Netflix does for their more artisy films. They do limited theatrical releases to qualify for the awards, and to please directors who really want to their films to have a theatrical release and not go straight to streaming.
Promare is an instant classic. That and Klaus are the only two truly great animated movies from this year.
Hey Pan, as a fellow Mexican, I think that you should know that the Playmobil Movie was marketed heavily in Mexico. There were ads on the radio and on tv and every time I went to Cinépolis this past summer there would be ads for it.
all of my old therapists had playmobil in their rooms- like, none of them ever had any lego, just huge playmobil sets.
Fun story! I went to see Promare (excellent movie) yesterday, only for the theater they TOLD us was playing Promare to be ACTUALLY showing Playmobil. After some confusion we were redirected to the correct theater, but it was still something else.
Ngl, the actual look/style of the movie, looks alright-
Coming never, it’s the kreo the movie, with small cameos appearances and a lot more bull shit for you to buy our brand.
Is Kreo even much of a thing lately? I've haven't seen a new Kreo product in somewhere near a year.
Kayle Mathew Comendador I have no idea??? I’m just thinking they might be around since legos is still around.
"its gotta get better eventually" Oh Pan......I really needed to hear that....
"Lego featured batman, starwars ,NBA and bionicle for like 1 second"
Ouch, especially since Bionicle not only saved lego back in the day from bankrupcy but was also the first lego series to have a movie.
Love the Diddy Kong racing music!
8:23 Bob's Burgers came out in 2011 so that list's even smaller now lmao
I have listened to that villain song like a hundred times since I heard the snippet of it you put in this video.
2010's: Let's go out with a bang!
2019 animation: you mean box office bombs? Okay we'll give you that!
Btw in the movie you actually see Marty from back to the future in the western scene when the sherrif shows up. which i found interesting. Though he shows up for a split second.
2019: The worst year for movie theaters. 2020: Hold my drink. With all seriousness roll safe, stop hogging the TP, water, hand sanitizer, and Lysol Wipes; Also stop flushing those wipes. Robin from TTG was right. There is no such thing as a flushable wipe. Toss them, burn them, hell eat them if you have to just don't flush them. Just make your future a good one and be good to one another.
I live in a country where playmobil's factory is one of the largest employers, and yet I didn't hear a single thing about this movie before your review...
Isn't that the girl from M. Night Shamma Llama's "Split" movie?
Your comment, username, and profile pic exist in perfect unity.
Promare's shoulders must be sore from carrying theatrical animation by itself this year
3:32 I laughed at your America Online web browser. Do you still use dial-up?! LMAO
The more i watch rebel taxi the more i want a show centered around the world pan the character lives in
I imagine it could be like the intruder shorts that Toonami made for Tom
Poor man's Lego? That shit was always way more expensive than Legos.
Well guess what that shit is your shit coming down your butt while you watch TikTok
2:25 I had a friend with a pretty rich dad as a kid, he was fucking OBSESSED with playmobil and used the countless sets he had to boast and brag. He absolutely despised lego for some reason.
3 minutes into the film:
"Do you wanna build a Playmobil? C'mon lets go and play~"
Lino disalvo, who was the head of animation of frozen, directed this movie. Coincidence? I think so.
I had this playing in the background as I was working on a mini spoiler free review for my friend on Promare because I saw the dub yesterday. You then mention Promare and I start thinking about how people are going to have to wait 2-3 months for the Blu-Ray if they haven't seen it in September, the Redux on the 8th, 10th, and those not watching the 4DX Redux version today.
Had I known Anya Taylor-Joy was in this, I would've seen it. GIVE ME THAT THOMASIN MINIFIGURE
RT's finally got some slick animations. Good stuff on you, mate.
Everyone: Klaus
Pan Pizza: Klaws
Also, Klaus did enter theatres albeit a select few in the US, Canada, Spain and UK had a lot of places picked.
I should've driven or flown to Madrid... This movie feels like it would've been great on the big screen :'(
@random rarities Thank you, MCU. Scorsese is right.
@random rarities That and they want to please directors who would had otherwise passed with Netflix because they want their film to have a theatrical release.
@random rarities I'm sorry, could be because of a language barrier but I don't get what you're saying :(
2:42 And a Bionicle for just 1 second.
Me: "Reality is orten disappointing".
Would've liked to see more cameos of them.
5:34 WAIT! They had a REDHEAD AND NECKBEARD ROMAN EMPEROR and they didn't call him NERO? Oh boy.
Oh shit! Your video quality jumped up while I wasn't looking! Good one!
At least it's not another underdog story like UglyDolls or Arctic Dogs or The Emoji Movie.
I have honestly never heard of play mobile till this movie can out!
Ghostbusters are in the movie for 1 second
