Thanks for sharing a truth, my concern is about ancient prehistoric custom and cultural history of the original South African, and also the traditional actions within a economical system, and also true fact and circumstances within a technological civilization, and this would help to understand the law of a nation, and also it would help with understanding the political legislative constitution that is with recognizance and acceptance of its ancient custom and culture, and also concern about the true fact and evidence with proof about South Africa historical racial classification, and this I hope would be with a memorandum of its history.
Coloureds were born frm, blacks mixed with either indian, arab, white, portuguese, dutch, enlish etc that is why they have different skin tones, different hair textures etc, even though they are all coloureds.
To understand why houses in towns are behind huge walls while houses in townships are not, you have to understand that most of the wealth, be it white or black is in the towns. So it is a prime target for property crimes. Townships, does not see much property crimes, but in general are very dangerous places, especially if you stand out. As a white person you definitely do stand out. Some of the more dangerous townships in Gauteng include Tembisa, Alexandra, and Diepsloot. When it comes to the mines, there is the Oppenheimer family, and Anglo American. Between these two most of the largest mines are owned. Basically, anything you do, anything you buy, the Oppenheimer's will get their cut of the cake. They just have shares in everything.
...can you now comment on the ANC..?...you'll see the reflection...to American history...of S.A. history...tell us Africans about America Indigenous Indian genocide..enlighten me...
BEE replaced Apartheid, which causes an unequal economy also. The ANC are the ruling party for the past 26 years. White people are less than 9%, Black people are about 80%, so take that into consideration when talking about the rich and poor, and the townships and cities/suburbs. So of course it looks bad because 80% is so much more then the rest of the population.

At the end of the day, we all start by having the same opportunities in education, how you end up living is your choice. Apartheid was introduced in 1950 to 1994 so 44 years , not so long if one had to put it in perspective from when Jan Van Riebeeck arrived in 1652. We have been a democratic country since 1994 with reverse apartheid .so we have only had apartheid for 70 years . Wonder for how long it would carry on.

Have you been to cape town
Coloured are from a diverse group
What about the Malays who are descendants from Asian countries like Malaysia Indonesia Java and so many other countries and our forefathers were brought here as either slaves or banished to the cape as political prisoners all due to colonization
It is obvious that you know only a tiny bit of what South Africa is like. Even the meaning of the Setswana words was really so far from the truth! I always wonder at the way Americans, the English or Europeans interpret what is going on in South Africa. You really have no idea of the depth of the differences between black and white. Don't judge them by the colour of thrir skins. You know how Americans differ from Mexicans. In South Africa the difference between whites and blacks is hundred times deeper....

I spent the last two months in SA. This video is the most accurate and thoughtful commentary I have come across. Everything applies equally to the SA of 2024. Thank you very much for sharing these insights.
The media and the government is the problem as someone also left a comment saying that the there isn't racism in the streets

Are you an RM? I love your account of your experience in South Africa.

And only 12% of whites are poor
@@phiwelove yet, government does not grant White people subsidies as easy. Education is key, yet you only want to pass with 30% which is still a struggle?? We all follow the same Curriculum, all school have the same resources that government provides for learners to use. Start there to make a change. At the end of the day, we all start by having the same opportunities in education, how you end up living is your choice. I'm definitely not rich, like everyone thinks because of the colour of my skin, but I'm an entrepreneur while trying to get a degree to live a better life. And because of the colour of my skin and being a Sole Proprietor how will I ever get any grants due to BEE to someone who is the opposite of me?? With the lockdown it truly showed how "unqualified" I am to even stand in a queue for food that the Government ended up stealing, and because of who I am I'm not allowed to get R350 a month either, nor could I claim UIF because I'm self employed. How equal is that just because I am a White female who is truly try to make an honest means of a living to provide for my family? Nothing gets given to me, ever. So how can Black people still complain about being poor, living in rural areas and not being educated properly when it's a lot easier for them to get from government? Also, it's been 26 years already, how many generations already, so Apartheid cannot be blamed still for what is happening today if people still choose to live in the past by not moving forward.

There's literally no such thing as "white areas" in South Africa, what he's referring to is residential areas, which consist of all races. Why this seems confusing to him is because most of the informal settlements/townships could technically be classified as "black areas" as there are little to no white people who are that far down the poverty line.

In my experience as a white person in SA, there is little to no racism in the streets. The problem is the government and the media. The media exaggerates racism and disharmony.
SA can be saved, but then we should not leave. We have to stay and help fix this country. It has been done many times (look at Ireland) it will be difficult, but it can be done.

Being the minority, we can only do that if the government starts doing it's job. The ball is squarely in their court.
I do agree but i don,t think media exaggerates racism. I myself has experianced racism multiple times before I turned 13. The one I remember most was when a white man screamed at my mom, brother and i to go back to the Cape Flats, which was very hurtful for an 11 year old.
