    Dearest Saloni.. I am glad I found you... Here are some things I do to save.. I have started sewing... Just bought a sewing machine for myself (I am a big fashion person... so I plan to mimic clothes by Zara H&M etc and make my own dresses)... I do my parlour on my own... from cutting hair to coloring to even chemical smoothing... Not because I am chindi... But I love to DIY... when I started folks called me crazy... But now I am able to give anyone a professional haircut or color... fix fabrics with my sewing etc... I recently even said goodbye to my Cook and took over my kitchen... and its amazing how I have saved on groceries and outside food... Ironing my own clothes... Alot of r&d goes b4 I take up any DIY but I thoroughly enjoy it..... btw I binge watched some videos of yours and surely picked some tips.. keep doing the smart work you do...

    It's very smart that you and your husband split fixed bills 50/50. Keeping your own account with your own money is vital I think, and of course it will work differently for all couples based on earnings for each, etc, but every woman needs their own account. Also - when I translate this to Canadian dollars prices are great! I know it's not the same (have to take into account average pay in India), but wow, according to my salary here I could live very well there!

      That’s not always right ... people leaving away is usually work related or kids schooling related. Even far from parents as per culture Indians tend to take care of their parents ( affection and monetary)Plus ppl away do not get the family support

    • @avianspirit
      @avianspirit 5 років тому +12

      @@subyroopesh Living in a different house than parents is the reality in metros and almost everywhere now a days. Unless one has a very high income, one can't afford to live as a joint family. Also many parents don't like to stay in metros. And new couple also need privacy to figure out their life. Lack of family support starts to hurt when the couple has a baby. Otherwise it's manageable with a house help. For parents who have had a single child , they basically have to live alone in their old-age. Kids sending money won't be the answer to that.
      The lifestyle that is portrayed here is possible only because they don't have old parents to take care of. They probably live in gujurat. I believe they are fortunate to have this lifestyle. One has to let go of one thing to have the other. It's a big conondrum for married couples to live away or with parents. One couple lives here my street have 3 sons , 2 of them live in USA, one in Bengaluru with their families. Let's accept it, couple have to leave parents to have a life they want. The birds have to leave the nest.

    Saloni, in my opinion you are playing to much "Rent" almost 50% including maintainance charge from your income, it's so scary. Even you and your Hubby living alone in that bigga appartment, Hope you got my point.

      No, thanks. You are wrong here. How can you make such decisions without even knowing the full situation? Closed mindset, or just nosy behavior? Someone with strong understanding of finances will get it, but I guess you're not one of them.

Have been obsessed from that day on the videos you do on financials. Me and my hubby implemented so many of your tips and things are working out awesomely for us from then. Would love to watch few more of these topics like the mutual funds, investing in share markets etc.
