One of the most underrated talents of all time. Loved them then, loved them still and I'm old enough to have seen Elvis, The Who, Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Roy Orbison, 3 Dog Night, Deep Purple, et al. All of the GREATEST TALENTS of music that ever lived. Can't believe they've still got it !

God bless this gifted and this talented band. My mother and father loved them. I do, too. Whenever I need a lift, I listen too them on you tube. Even better, I spin them on the turn table.
Now that was a real treat from an ole Cowsills fan from way back when. Even without Bill and Barry and mom, these guys bang this classic out better than the original...still just as talented and entertaining as 1969 !
This song is bittersweet for me. I was about 10 years old when this song came out. The hippie look was all the rage. Psychedellic colors, fringed vests and purses. It was a fun time. Hippie Power was what America needed in the late Sixties. Young people wanted to unite and be heard. A lot of great songs that will always touch my heart. Ahhhh....to be young.
I saw this when it was on PBS and it's GREAT! It's great to hear them sing it live and I love it just as much as when I first heard it 1969! The Cowsills rock!
Because they are. It's their message, their words, their (my) time. Having said that, 'my time' is just that, my time. @@deborahrowland4264 1969, I was 14 yrs old when "Hair" was a hit. My girlfriend and I loved the song. Love to return to 1969, and be a young teenager again.✌
Been listening them since the 60s. What a fantastic family! Got to meet Bob, Susan and Paul in 2019 at a "meet and greet". Super talented family. Super nice people. True American icons.
I was seventeen or eighteen when Hair hit the airwaves. I look at little Susie differently now. She's very pretty. Don't know when they did this but they still have talent. Real talent. Most old groups embarrass themselves on stage. They took me back and the Cowsills did themselves proud.
Bob has such a great voice, and really pulls this off nicely. The harmonies are amazing. The only negative thing that I could possibly say is that I would have loved to have heard Bill sing this complete version of Hair. But what a great performance!
Gaga at the Gogo..that's my favorite line of the song...saw hair on stage and man what a trip...those days will never come back...the 60's were insanely eventful and changed so many people's lives ...for the better and some for the worse....
I've been an oldies fan for 35 years, and only recently discovered how talented and versatile this group is/was. Unfortunately, only Bob, Paul, and Susan are still performing regularly as the Cowsills (John's the Beach Boys' drummer), and Bill and Barry are gone. But they are really something. Also, I love how they added a verse from the broadway show in this rendition which they did not use on the hit record.
They sound as good as they did back in the 1960's!!!!! Oh and "...GaGa at the GoGo" is from the original Broadway song. What a gift to see them again after all these years!
Amazing harmonies,as always.Been a fan since the beginning.Loved the documentary....Long time coming....One of THE most talented groups of all time.Sorry for all your loss.Love you guys...Rock on.Hope to catch you sometime.
I fell in love with Susan when I was 15 yrs. old, today I am 60. You should see some of her early t.v. shows. never seen a nine yr. old dance like that. still love her today!
I love these fine people!!!! God Bless the Cowsill Family! I truly hope that music in this country and the world for that matter will get back to the innocent essence of the Cowsills! TY for posting this Bob!
This is a fantastic live performance by the Sills. Love the lyric change. The whole, true feel of the vibe in this great & enduring song is self evident in this tireless wonderful video.
This is the version I used to listen to on the radio back in the day, before I saw the play -- 6 times...! I still love it, as I used to love it decades ago.
Yes they are. I was a big Zeppelin fan in the 60s and have only discovered The Cowsills in the last 3 yrs, they were so talented......and still are now.
I remember this tune, in the early spring of 1970. I was a lad of nine, in the third grade, and my father always gave me "crew cuts." I envied those who were allowed to wear their hair long. Well, I got my wish. Twenty years ago, my hair was so long, I could reach behind my back and touch it. It is still long, but not that long. Those were the days!
Ah, the full version. I wish the Cowsills had originally recorded it that way.Regardless.. quite amazing that here they were 30+ years later and sounding unbelievably good.
These beautiful people are on the top of the "new" music as far as I'm concerned. I heard this great song a lot, from my fuzzy memory, on the AM radio at the age of three. I still love this song, especially the way they are singing it now in this video.
My favorite video and watch it a couple times a week .. Loved that time in my life and the music was the best . The Cowsills are still so amazling talented .... so gifted!! We have a hundred in our extended family and none of us can sing!
Absolutely the best performance. I still know a lot of the words, and it put such a smile on my face. I love them. They really are like family because I've been around since the beginning.
Wow ! l have at the age of 52 in the UK have just discovered the sound of The Cowsills, really its true. I always heard The Flowergirl on the radio throughout my life and now thanks to youtube I have found out about the other songs and the fact of the family?, something fresh and new( for me) about the 60's, great harmonies.
This is sooooo groovy and totally far-out :) They sound just as great today as they did back in the 60's.... "The Rain, The Park & Other Things" and "Hair" are just a few of the favorites of all time and in perfect, youthful harmony.. :) I also dig the montage segments of the Be-In's and Love-In's (and the cute flower-girl) in this great video. We definitely need to bring back these groovy and fun happenings. :) Thank you so much for posting this. :) Cheers!
I saw(and met) the Cowsills last night in NC at a concert they were performing and they were brilliant! They still harmonize as well as anyone on the planet. A great performance by real musicians. Go see them and take a friend with you. You'll be glad you did.

That is absolutely correct . I think it was too controversial for air play It would have caused too much for the parents of the kids like me to handle with their long hair.
Also, the lines " Jesus wore it Hallelujah, I adore it Mary loved him Why dont my mother love me..." These lines were taken out of orig tv performance of hair as they were too religious and powers that be didnt want to offend "christians". More power to The Cowsills!
Great video. Great vocals. Whoever did the vocal arranging on this and "The Rain, The Park, and Other Things" really made these songs stand out with the echos and harmonies. I'm glad they are still performing these classics of my youth and theirs.
That was wonderful. Man they still got those chops. Sounding sooooooo goooood. Nothing like a live performance with real talented singers and musicians. Classic stuff right here man.
Better than their studio recorded version..this song made us won in a band contest in the early 70's..took my breath away watching this clip and reminiscing the days we practiced especially the harmony of the background voices/notes
Fantastic just like ever! Amazing musical talent to be able to sing and learn other harmonies as members active status changed. Thank you for doing what you love! Kudos to Bob, Paul, Susan and other family members who obviously are pretty terrific, too!! We fans miss Billy, Barry and Dickie. As fans, we feel like family but on the opposite side. I know. They sounded pretty good. They must have had auto tune and auto harmonizing, but you can tell they have a lot of talent.
They’re still this amazing in 2019! They haven’t lost a thing!

So happy to still listen to such a talented family. Hats off to you!
