The Cowsills sing "Hair" April 28, 2018 KOOL 103FM's Caravan of Star 35 at The Carl Perkins Civic Center, Jackson, TN. One of my favorite Cowsill's Songs.
Absolute pros. They've been performing together for 55 years?? And still sound so great. AND having FUN doing it even after singing this song a million times onstage. Impressive.
Too bad their Dad ruined everything for them!! I can relate and when I watched the documentary about their life’s stories, I was moved to tears for them and myself. The loss of the childhood dream. 😭😭😭
Oh wow! I was there at this concert that night! Great concert there and l got to see them in concert and meet them a few years after that after a "Happy Together" concert in Effingham, Illinois. Great folks everyone of them! So patient and giving of their time, autographs, and photographs. Great memories!
Growing up in this time period, it amazes me how much attention was paid to the length of ones hair. You could be an outcast or a hero just based on the length of your hair.
What's MORE amazing is how it's not such a big deal anymore. Or some other things that used to be upsetting - like tattoos or piercing; even WEIRD piercings. It's even become REALLY bad manners to mention them, even really bad tattoos(or piercings).
I was elementary age when this song came out. My older brothers both had long hair, and my conservative parents did not like it. But they let them keep it long. I think this song was the beginning of my obsession with men with long hair. I ended up marrying a guy with beautiful, curly shoulder-length hair, but once he got a "real job" in corporate America, he had to cut it. Devastated me. (Thankfully he's good-looking even with short hair.) I will always love 1985-7 Bono for his hair (and his voice and songs, and -- well, I just love Bono), and the Christian artist Phil Joel who has the most gorgeous long blonde hair I've ever seen on a dude.
Man when I was a kid and this song played I just listened! It would keep me still and think time has gone so fast it seems like I’m going backwards now!
You are absolutely correct about that. I played bass and sang for 2 sisters and 2 sets of brothers, who were nearly indistinguishable as to what parts they were singing. The timber is identical.
I have to make just one more comment their vocals are just second to none I just love their Harmony they're harmonizing so it gets to me it's awesome especially after I heard that song when I believe just recently cuz I have never used the smartphone before I just blew my mind I knew I knew it had to come from the Lord love you love you love you!!
It does justice to their original version. I played the hell out of that thing when I was growing up. I had shoulder-length hair. My sister still considers herself 100% 'Hippy'.
They recorded a great version of this song and still do it very well. Got to sing this in a stage presentation of Hair at our junior college theater. Our arrangement was a bit different than this one but still sounded great. Had to learn parts to 26 songs in a few weeks. Lots of work but a great show to do. Great musical.
Não consigo ver THE COWSILLS sem chorar ! 😢😢💔 ! Desde jovem, nos anos 60, fui e sou apaixonada pelo sucesso THE RAIN, THE PARK AND OTHER THINGS! 🎼🙆🎶🙌🎶🙇🎶🙏🎼🙌🎼🙌🎼🙏💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 😢❤! Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brasil! 💚💛💙💚💛💙💚
Oh thanks, great to be reminded of this great musica "Hair" l. Changed lives that one did. Mine anyway :). Going to listen to the original broadway cast right now. Frank Mills .. such a pretty song
I'm Susan's age. I remember this song back in the day. I wanted to grow my hair long after hearing it, but my dad said NO. I finally got my long hair when I was in high school. Now, I wish I had that hair. 🤣
Interesting story about this group. Being a Australian did know much about them, Americans watched them grow up on variety TV shows and basically is what the partridge family TV show was based on. The oldest boy wanted his own rock band. But the record company stuck in his mum, which he hated, bad family management etc . Watching some video on them the now. I never knew they had this hit and the the park song. Interesting
Absolute pros. They've been performing together for 55 years?? And still sound so great. AND having FUN doing it even after singing this song a million times onstage. Impressive.
I was thinking the same thing. I love their new music too !!
“ This family was born with perfect pitch.”
Too bad their Dad ruined everything for them!! I can relate and when I watched the documentary about their life’s stories, I was moved to tears for them and myself. The loss of the childhood dream. 😭😭😭
It was very sad to see what happened to them. Incredibly talented.
Those were the days. I'm glad we can revive them occasionally. Thank Cowsill family.
Susan looks fantastic and the band sounds AWESOME!!
Could this be because she is from the great state of O H I O ?
@@jeffreymcfadden9403They are from Rhode Island.
Yes she does.
@@jeffreymcfadden9403 No.
Susan was actually born in Canton, Ohio, and then they moved to Newport, RI.
Omgosh does this bring back so many wonderful memories. It’s a shame what their dad did to them.
It truly is. A sad story. Such talent in this family.
They still sound so good

They were the perfect group for that amazing era known as the 1960s.

1971 Met Bill C in our Queens Apartments Laundromat he played Indian Lake and HAIR foe me and my little Brother! So nice of him! RIP!
This performance was amazing. Absolute perfection in the harmonies, timing and energy. I love it.
One of the greatest singles ever recorded.
Beautiful harmony!!!!
People from the same family tend to create the best harmony.
Man when I was a kid and this song played I just listened! It would keep me still and think time has gone so fast it seems like I’m going backwards now!
Oh, how I love listening to this family. I'm old enough to remember when they were still a new band being played on the radio.
These guys were awesome and there still rocking. ROCK ON❤
Stunning harmony!😱
The middle guy has so much energy,LOVE IT

They seem genuinely happy performing. What an infectious positive energy bet they are fun to watch live.
Great! And Susan still has those same cool moves!
Loved watching them here in Branson MO. last year! Such a blast!
Wowie! I was “Tex” back in 1967. The Haight Ashbury was my home!!
San Francisco was fantastic and psychedelic! Class of 1967-70! Groivy😎🌺👀🥀
At 67 I still live by this song! Yeah, some songs will change your life and the ponytail to the middle of my back shows it:)
Only siblings can have this kind of harmonies. Incredible!
You are absolutely correct about that. I played bass and sang for 2 sisters and 2 sets of brothers, who were nearly indistinguishable as to what parts they were singing. The timber is identical.
@@susanwelsh9068, and the lumber is too!

The Cowsills are fabulous! So much sound comes out of the three Cowsills. Amazing.

Susan´s still got the sexiest moves I've ever seen.
Love Them 💚💜💙🌞

I love this! So talented and I love the harmonization!
Love Susan. She was cute as a little girl, and pretty nice as a woman. Love you Susan.
She looks great for about 60 year old woman.
Excellent!! Love me some Cowsills!
They still sound great.
Their performance just makes me smile! Love those days!
Susan’s outfit is adorable
Susan has always been adorable…check out her in 1967….then search for her duet on the Dean Martin show. Talk about precious.
Check out Susan's duet with Dean Martin when she was 10. Wow what a life!!!
Yes. Was real cute!
Wow! Great performance!
Love these guys!
How lovely! This is kind of song that never dies! Classic!

They sound GREAT!! ❤️
I love Bob's Gretsch. I have an early 90s reissue that's pretty awesome, but I think his is vintage... or maybe just beat-up. ;)
They are still great!
Fantastic!!

They have some interesting lyrics, too. Captain Sad & his Ship of Fools for example.
Excellent!!!!
If only I had some!
Brilliant
To think that at one time ('m the same age as Susan) my two favorite songs were this and Barry Saddler's "The Green Beret"!
I miss songs with actual story lyrics. Most songs these days are the same few words over and over.
Cool!
Oh my, a Peavey amp on stage!
Fantástico, continuam com a mesma força...
Love ❤
0:24 Yes, Susan, that's literally what he just said.

I still love Susan...!

Looks like one of the Hoppen brothers on bass - was this tour with Orleans?
