I'm surprised no one has mentioned that maxing out your dual/rate on the transmitter eliminates almost all of the cogging issues as far as my Banggood EAT14 is concerned. Also, judicious use of lubricants in specific places, i.e. greasing the diffs, makes a difference too.
I m extremely disappointed with this car and the youtubers hyping the crap out without ever mentioning these issues just to get more freebies… It drives like crap, it has a ton of delay in the throttle + the cogging + it is not designed to be driven at such high speeds. Thanks for your video, it didn’t really make this car any better but at least you are actually helpful to the community.
Yeah I know some channels tend to hide the real truth about products as you said, which as a RC hobbyist and reviewer of rc products I dislike that behaviour as well. In this video I tried to come up with solution which does not fully eliminate the cogging in the original release of this model but did in my case help a little. The 124016 version 1 videos that I made I did not recommend anyone purchase at all it was really that bad. Only the v2 models with the smaller pinion and higher kV motor fixed the issues, thanks for watching and your comment 👍 have a good day!
Hi Dave😁 you have helped so many people with this how to video bro 👍 including myself because I converted my purple one into Brushless and I have a little cogging issue so am going to dry this 👍 dont understand people giving you a thumbs down because your helping people, your video was fantastic bro. Thanks very much Tony my friend, I have found this to work on some of my other brushless escs so definitely wanted to try eliminate the cogging on this one. As for dislikes, doesn't bother me at all in the slightest 😂 cheers for watching mate and have a good weekend 🍻💯
Thanks for sharing this good info Dave. That's definitely better than before. Yeah lots of people reporting the cogging issue on these. Hey congrats on the 10K subs bro! Well done!!!!!!! 😎👍🍻🇦🇺
Hey Mick, yes it's been a very common topic of conversation on the groups and comment sections of recent reviews including my own review about the cogging due to WLtoys using the same pinion and spur from the brushed models which makes it over geared on the 2845 motor. Thanks very much mate, appreciate your support and have a great weekend🍻👍😎💯
Today I jumped exactly to your same 🙂conclusion , indeed I ordered one of those cheap programming cards. Besides there are more elements now to be almost sure that this esc, even though is not that sparkling in terms of overall performances, it is 2-3s compatible. That's really a great news for all the people that affords this car just to use it out of the box, considering that with more voltage cogging is less evident. Well done.
Yes on 3s the cogging is less evident I noticed on my 3s speed tests the other day, but with a quick tune of the ESC I am pretty happy the cogging has reduced from what it was stock out the factory. Cheers for watching my friend and have a good weekend 👍
It's true that the gearing is high for the size of the motor, but that's not the problem! The real problem is just the quality of the ESC. If you put in any Hobbywing ESC, like the tiny and inexpensive 16BL30, you'll find that the cogging goes away nearly entirely. Instead of getting a programming card, just put the money toward a decent ESC that is smooth, responsive, and reliable.
Yes most definitely a better quality ESC will help eliminate cogging, but this video is aimed towards those that have just bought this particular buggy and want to be able to enjoy it as is out the box and this is an easy and quick solution to minimise that issue. There's no doubt the cogging issue exists, it apparent in most review videos including my own. As for not to bother to buy the programming cards, i disagree and think most hobbyists should buy a couple of different ones, they are a good, inexpensive and handy tool to program all esc's to set the parameters that you may like for the way you drive your RC models. Cheers for watching mate
Does a 3650 motor fit? And would it be faster? Really new to rc but decided to try to put one together from a full metal chassis roller(124017 model). So it being a roller I need to do all the electrical myself and was wondering about going with more powerful motor that could handle 3 and 4s

Thanks Rob, hopefully those that have bought this WLtoys and the Eachine EAT14 RC buggy will be able to enjoy it more straight out of the box, cause the cogging issue these have from factory is a downer. Cheers for watching mate 🍻👍💯

@@PERTHWESTOZRC what have wltoys done with the swing arms ive asked people but not gotten back to me and not a problem you put out good vids
and heck why i aint subed you but i have now haha
I don't get how this got through wltoys QC (if there is such a thing). Just don't buy it.
Thanks for watching buddy
Ooooooff those diffs are tooooo soft
I hate it when a premium product like Snap On has cogging. Pistol drill at work is really bad.
Oh wow, just got a EAT14. The cogging is horrendous!
I did watch other videos before this one where the car seemed fine! Argh.
Thanks for watching Sandos, yes unfortunately the Eachine eat14 suffers from the cogging issue just like the earlier models of the wltoys brushless buggies. The new V2 wltoys models have a smaller pinion I believe it’s a 19t
Test it in deep grass
Already done that with the 124016 mate,
You have cogging because ur big 27t pinion in the and u need a 19t
Yes I know, they rectified this by changing to a 19t in the V2 models, but I made this video years ago when this buggy was first released
I would straight up just buy another olmodel without this issue, its annoying
This problem was only present in the first release of these buggies when I made this video years ago. There is no issue now
Good videos , it could be a lot better if you wouldn't repeat yourself so much and drag out the video..
Thanks for watching
