Today were looking again at the WLToys 144010 and mainly at how to get the most out of your Electronic Speed Controller.
In the video we will be looking at were to purchase a program card , how to use it , how to connect to your RC and the benefits of doing so .

Just programmed my wltoys 144010 and it’s worth it 100% for the £8 you get so much. Car instantly felt better less delay, more punch etc.. Copied the settings from this video btw.
Hey there buddy , im so glad this helped you , means alot that my findings are helpful .
The 144010 could have done with this ESC tune right out the box , if you really want to make it feel way better get a handset and receiver from another brand and fit it .

Few months later… I took my wltoys out again and i made the brakes to high and the diffs stripped 🤦♂️ so be careful with the brakes..

Is 3.1V safe for LiPos? I'd imagine the voltage droop would trigger LVC at 3.1V, but the resting voltage would be higher? I've seen so many mixed opinions on LVC that I'm unsure as to what is too low, and it's confusing for a beginner like myself.
Hey there buddy , yeah LVC is a grey area for most people in the hobby and they all have their own views .
I tend to use 3.2 as a base myself .

@@ChriswithaCrc Hello! I just got my hands on one of these WLToys 144010. I have some 2S lipo 7.4V from another RC, but the WLToys does not like the batteries. it runs for like 3 minutes then cuts off. Its 1700 and 1800mah on the other batteries. They are not that old or damadged. Can the LVC be changed so that i can use the batteries?
Seen this car in person today and what price its going be just for bashing one if I break it just replace if needed

Esse Receiver do Wltoys que vem de fábrica funciona no modelo 124008? Todos os modelos de wltoys, o receiver que vem de fábrica é o mesmo para todos?
Hey there buddy yes it is the same one and yes it’s fits all of the models
Mine saves the settings but nothing changes in the car even though it is saved, do you have any idea what it could be??
If you’re not noticing any difference I would recommend changing out the receiver and transmitter that made the most difference to me buddy .

Did it fix the throttle delay?
Hey buddy not completely , but it did help massively .
The best way to solve it is to change the transmitter and receiver .
Does it work for the delay problem?
Hey buddy , This will definitely help you thats for sure . if you want to get Rid of all the delay i would suggest getting a different Radio and receiver .

What does start mode do btw?
Hey buddy , start mode in this esc is just another work for punch 🥊 , so it’s the amount of punch you get from neutral to full trigger on start.

Does this work on the DR8 ?
Hi buddy ,
Thats a great question technically yes and no !
So your able to use a hobbywing programming card on the ESC thats on the DR8 , but from what i can gather its a rebranded hobbywing ESC made for FTX so im not 100% on the features that have been programmed in to the ESC .

Hi! I have the same car and the same programming card, but when putting energy, the program card work state light start and keeps blinking in blue color. I pressed every button and nothing happens :( any idea?
I contacted the seller and he said the program card only works with surpass hobby esc, not guarantee for wl-toys

This seems odd i got to be honest with you , do you have a video on youtube of the issue happening so im able to have a look ?
As for the surpass programming card you should have no issues with it at all when programming .

Mine is the V2 but still feels laggy. Does this reprogramming eliminate the lag with the stock receiver and ESC? Thanks for the info mate
Hey buddy , Thats a good question you have , Right simple answer is yes and no and the same time lol .
Programming does help it alot , it takes away some of the low end punch issues and also the dead band on the point you press the trigger !
So programming is definitely worth doing as im also using the stock ESC .
But since installing a new receiver ive noted a remarkable difference in the cars capability and how it works .
No lag now and all and the car goes like stink off the mark .
I personally would recommend if your able to is do both at the same time .
Its a night and day difference .

@@ChriswithaCrc just the default for now. Was thinking Dumbo RC might be a good shout.
@@Unsungh3ro_88go for a spektrum receiver, surpasshobby esc and a dumbo remote it will be like night and day difference
I got the exact same pr card but in red and doesn't work. Bs.
Clearly you have not done something correctly or there is a problem with your program card buddy , you can quite clearly see from the video that it works
@ChriswithaCrc wasn't saying your wrong, was saying I got the red one thinking the grey and red are the same but found out the red one is kk version. What ever that means.

My work status light won't turn off so I can't change the esc settings. He just pushed the reset button and that doesn't work with mine. Weird
Hmmmm that’s very strange indeed to be honest .
Sounds like your program card is playing up or possibly your ESC !
