i bought one a while back and it was back ordered until today.. i will be checking out that programming.. im new to RC and have no idea what im doing
Hopefully you receive yours soon then mate, and yep programming the start mode is easy, i now prefer the soft mode on startup after setting it to that setting option before running the car in this video, thanks for watching
@@PERTHWESTOZRC on that car you had a lot of toe out on the front alignment.. is there a reason you dont make it like a real car or is there a reason you leave it like that? all the WL toys i ordered have a lot of toe out... please let me know

Would be good if you could do a video of replacing the receiver and reprogramming the ESC. I have a FlySky FS-GT5 transmitter and receiver with gyro that I want to put in my 124017.

Nice one! I wonder if you might eek out a few more k's by removing the wing and reducing the drag a touch? Not sure if that'd make it unstable or not, just thinking how F1s have the drag reduction system when they flatten the wing on straights to go faster... Maybe some aero across the front too? This thing's looking way better than the brushed, with just a few simple mods 😎👍🏼
Yeah a flat wing would be better for aero, I have one on my 124019 and 144001 i converted to brushless a while back, thanks for wayching Andy👍🍻

What street tires did you use bud ? Just ordered this but want it for the road not bashing. If you can tag me in the tires you have in it please?!
Those tyres on the buggy in this video are just standard wltoys 144001 buggy tyres, I don't have a link but you should be able to find them online like on Amazon, ebay, aliexpress etc.

the esc is definitely 2-3s rated but dont know why the wltoys website said it will burn on 3s..weird.
I'd say they did that to cover their own back. Most of these Chinese RC companies include a 2s lipo instead of a 3s, even though the ESC can more often than not handle 3s, even the brushed ones. Thanks for watching 👍

Are you running 3s or 4s? Cos at 01:44, I can see a 3s LiPo, not a 4s
It's a 3s, I never mentioned I was running a 4s in this video
How did you hit 100kmph?? out of box they say that it can max out till 70 kmph
Easy put a 3s lipo in it and it will run over 90kph

Yes it sits level on the chassis on stock battery, with 3S there’s a slight bulge in the shell from memory

@@DeRock401 if you already got a 124019 just save your $140 to buy this and modify the brushed one you have to brushless mate and buy the brushless motor ESC etc instead

Hi buddy well if you already have the brushed model of the 124019 I'd say just buy a brushless system for that if you want speed, but if you haven't already own that model, this 124017 brushless model is very fast out the box, buy a programming card and install a 3s lipo like I have and you will have a fast rc buggy. Feel free to watch all my previous videos on this model before you make up your mind, hole that helps, thanks for watching Paul 👍
Thats a great run mate for the stock car, what did you set the front tow in to ie Parallel, tow in or tow out.
Hey Gillian there was a bit too much toe out when it comes from the factory so I adjusted the toe in to make the front wheels straighter, thanks for watching mate 👍
@@PERTHWESTOZRC Yes the stock tow out is great for off road handling, but parallel or slight tow in is better for straight line speed runs. Probably a bit more still in the car with a set of foam tyres.
In your experience, do you get any extra speed going to a higher capacity 3S battery? I was trying to hit 60 mph in my vintage Kyosho Raider (a budge entry level car from the 80s) with a cheap brushless upgrade.
It hit 41 on 2S and on a 2200 mAh Ovonic battery hit 56 mph. Do you think I could get a few more mph on a 4500 mAh battery? It will fit.... but IDK, the voltage shouldn't be any higher so I am thinking it would be a minimal speed increase but it seems like you might have first hand experience.

The higher the mah does help as you are less likely to have voltage sag then when using a small mah lipo, higher C discharge helps a bit also
So did it get rid of the clogging completely 🤔 when you got the new receiver and programed it
Programming the esc reduces the cogging but doesn’t eliminate it completely

I get a decent run time out of em, between 10-15mins when bashing my rc trucks around, all depends how you drive around your RC though.👍

So, let me get this straight. You got rid of the cogging by setting the ESC card to soft ?? I need to know because I am getting it this car on Friday and I am ordering that card if that is what got rid of it. Great speed runs by the way !!
Hi Kelvin, yes just before this speed run when i installed the Dumbo RC X6F receiver i plugged in my Program card and saw the stock esc went back to default settings so this time i decided to try out the Soft start mode setting and seemed to work even a bit better than the Strong mode setting in my previous video about how to reduce the cogging issue. 14th video I've seen on this car and the fastest run on 3s was 76kph but u pulled 18kph extra out your ads and I wonder how
Didn't pull anything out my ass mate, watch the video I explain everything I done, most of it has to do with a decent transmitter for longer range for a decent run plus a 3s lipo and tyre choice
I got 84kph easily using the stock wltoys tx and stock tyres a couple days back
