I don't know much about the world of rap, but way back when (im old), it was said that some rappers are in actual gangs and write about what they go through, like killings and such. Where I live, I hear that some young, black teens want to go to jail to be accepted in gangs or merit respect. It's very good you disassociate yourself from that music because what you listen to, is what most probably gets stuck in your heart and out of the heart, comes our actions.
