Nothing on Earth matches experiencing one of these monsters in person. Feeling the sound rattle your insides around as the ground trembles in fear at the unholy force that was just unleased. I'll never forget how eye opening it was when I went to a NASCAR race for the first time and felt the atom bomb power of 40 V8s being held wide-open at once. God, I love America.
I was at a car show once (I go to them all the time but this was a particularly big one) and this old 69 charger comes up right beside me and started reving it up and man oh man I've never heard anything so nice in my life the whole ground shook when he got on it and it made your body shake when it was at just and idel the smile on my boys face was the best thing about it though

Thank The Creator that the 1974 fuel crisis didn't happen 15 years earlier than it did. Gorgeous vehicles all. Many thanks to all the owners, creators, & preservers of these magnificently restored & obviously lovingly-cared-for mobile pieces of mechanical art. [two big thumbs up]
It was not only the fuel crisis but many people lost control of their muscle cars especially after modifying them and the cost of these crashes especially since many were fully insured drove insurance premiums so high that people stopped buying them and with low sales they faded away.
Back when cars were really cars.

This video makes me wish I had the money to get my dream car, a 1970 Chevelle SS with the 454 big block V8. Cheapest I've found was 40k and it isn't even an original 1970, its a '72 made to look like one but still has the 454.
I like you're taste in cars mines close to the same just with a bed and a 327 (I'd daily it so gas milage is a concern)

I love the howl of a nicely tuned old school Suzuki or Kawasaki muscle bike but there is nothing like the gorgeous beautiful and sheer power sound of the American V8. The iPad I’m watching this on reverberates with the exhaust of these beautiful cars!

i used to be a hc street racer and from finland like these cars are.we finns are crazy about our cars as you can see from the relatively incredible success internationally. for a small nation we have f 1 world champions,world rally car champions.i spent every available euro on my beloved 1964 malibu ss,it was good for mid nines in street trim with a variety of big block chevys ranging from 396 n/a to roots blown 540.i m retired now but thank god for internet,i need my fix everyday!!
I was lucky enough to drive a friend's "new" [by a few months] [medium blue] 1970 Dodge Challenger --- a mild one with a 318 to be sure, but it was a great drive --- both on freeways and city streets --- from Huntington Beach to Victorville (CA). Will never forget it.
I love Hondas and Mazdas but I sure do love some classic muscle cars. Especially with a amazing lopey idle.
