My husband was his First sergeant when he was stationed at Fort Drum NY. I was friends with his wife Angela and godmother to his son Andrew. When I heard he was being tried again through Federal court I almost fainted thinking back how he had babysat my kids several times when his wife and I would go play bingo. My husband and Tim would take turns babysitting the kids. I asked my husband before he passed away what he thought about him being tried in Federal Court and he could only say I hope they fry his ass. He said deep down he thought he did it because he acted creepy at times and was always hitting on the female soldiers.

"I hope they fry his ass" 😂😂 hilarious. Thank God he did nothing to your kids. You think you know someone then boom they do something astonishing. May your husband rest in peace.

I have followed this case for years and absolutely believe he is guilty. I know his wife has stood by his side initially, I wonder how she feels now. I also though of if his children and wonder what their feeling about him is. Now that they are adults do they admit their dad is guilty?

I remember this story of the Eastburn ladies as the brutality was vicious and unconscionable. It’s one thing to kill anyone, but the mother and the 2 little girls is utterly disgusting. Though I am tremendously grateful that the Military was able to put this monster behind bars as double jeopardy is a slippery slope as we see people be found not guilty after two trials and then many proudly boast of the killing(s).

"Leftenant" is actually a mispronunciation possibly based on an archaic form of lieutenant. It's also been theorized the British adopted that form to avoid it sounding like someone who lives in a bathroom--"loo tenant". The French word it comes from is pronounced /ljø/, which is more like "loo" and nothing like "lef".

I've never heard of this case before. I was surprised when his DNA matched in 2006. Had his defense just stood by that the DNA was somehow contaminated, I might could be persuaded that something like that had occurred and he was possibly innocent. The moment that it was said that the defense claimed that consensual sex took place between the two before the murders, nope, he's guilty as charged. He apparently went back, with the intention of raping Katy and was recognized somehow by her or the children...or both. If you pause on one of the newspaper clippings, you'll read that all three had their throats slit. One of the children was nearly decapitated. Sick, sick man and he doesn't deserve to live.

Thank you DC. Never forget watching the movie of the week or Tuesday night movie with my late Mom and it was this terrible story. That monster should have been in GenPop. To think he murdered that poor Mom and 2 of her tiny sweet little angels...but then figuring the baby couldn't identify him...HE JUST LEFT HER TO SUFFER ALL ALONE. Thank God they found her before it was too late. Poor Dad! It doesn't bear thinking about too much. And the man falsely accused while that bastard was soaking up life and even in the military! We don't want to believe it, but obviously it's very true that eyewitness accounts are highly unreliable. And with the known "disease" some police and prosecutors and judges have called TUNNELVISION they fit quite well. Putting SOMEONE in prison. Just someone. In this case those 2 really did look like twins butit stopped there, and they didn't really push it. What a shame. I hope the fams left behind have had a better go since that monster was finally stopped. Thank you DC. Well done. It lets younger generations know about these horrible crimes and perhaps help end them some day. Have a feeling AI will be involved. Robocop anyone? Actually that crap scares me too but I won't be living with it much.🙏🏼💔🕊️🤍🪽🦌
