Reason why i love your channel, it's not just your accent but the obscure but very important cases that need answers. Im across the pond but to me the U.K is just as fascinating as American cases
My son lives in Llangollen. She is remembered and still spoken about, fondly. I'm going with the Christopher Halliwell option. She was seen with a man, fitting his description. He wasn't her usual "victim" but he was there, at that time.
I became familiar with the case of Trevaline Evans approximately 3 years ago. While participating in an amateur sleuthing group online, we were attempting to ID a women known only as “Christmas Tree Lady”. “Christmas Tree Lady” was a deceased woman found in a cemetery in the state of Virginia in the US. She’s since been identified. Anyway, she and Trevaline bore a general resemblance to one another. May the case of Trevaline be resolved in a suitable manner.
As a resident of N. Wales and of the county of Denbighshire, your pronunciation was spot on of both Llangollen and Rhuddlan ❤️ Thank you for sharing this case x
I live just up the road from Llangollen & my family and I often talk about Trevaline & our theories but unfortunately it’s not UK case that many discuss 😔
@@SiobhanMaddox I live just up the road too. A couple of women I work with are from Llangollen and were talking about Trevaline a few months ago, they are adamant that she was working as a prostitute at the time she disappeared. I don't know what I think about that but it didn't sit right with me.
Thank you so much for covering this case!! I have been following it for about 4 years already, and it is truly one of the most baffling vanishings I've ever heard about! How can a well-known antiques dealer disappear from the middle of town with no one seeing what happened? I really hope her remaining family members will one day find out the truth about her mysterious disappearance!
One theory that didn't seem to be covered was Travaline being lured from her shop to assess or buy items. With so many possibilities, no crime scene, no telling forensics, it seems it's unlikely that the case will be solved until she or her body shows up or someone talks.
Maybe she bumped into someone in the moment that she was away from the shop and they did something to her she clearly had every intention of returning to the shop when she left that note on the window
She reminds me of Patricia Rutledge. She is a British actress from the show keeping up appearances. Also, how ironic that her husband's name was also Richard in the show. The missing lady does look like Patricia Rutledge though.
Definitely never heard of this case, plenty of serial killers around in the 90's, she was either taken by someone or chose to leave on her own for some unknown reason
Sadly eye witness testimony is always tough to go by because it just isn't reliable. People can get their days mixed up when they see someone to because they are use to seeing someone but it might have been a Tueday instead of a Thursday. Sounds like she returned because she had stuff inside she had bought fruit and flowers to take home that evening were still there. Her compact was there. It sounds like someone came in and got her. Was their money in the register. Was their money on the floor where people put through the mail slot when she didn't take the note down she would be out for a few minutes. Trace the money. Where did the $10,000.00 go. No woman who left on her own would have left the money behind. Let's hope her husband had nothing to do with it. I wonder if someone else thought she had the money at the shop so they kidnapped her to get the money and then killed her when they didn't get it because she knew them . Maybe one of these day they will find her remains so she can be buried with her son and husband.
Richard was 40 miles away, renovating their holiday bungalow in Rhuddlan. After many attempts contact Trevaline by telephone he rang a family friend and neighbour to ask them to call by the house and see if everything was alright. When the friend called back and told Richard that Trevaline was not at home, he became very worried and asked if the search could be extended to the shop. When there was no sign of her at the shop, they called the police.
The note on the shop door and the flowers found inside for the party that evening she was looking forward to, all point to her intending to return. Somebody enticed her away under some pretence when she popped out for her fruit snack.
Seems more like she left in her own will. There are many many cases where people vanish and are presumed dead, but were found to be alive and just wanted to escape from their current life/family. Not everyone is missing
I wonder what the occasion of that photo of her was. She isn't happy in it. She looks defeated and sad and yet is clearly posing, knowing it's being taken. Almost like she's trying to tell us something.
My guess is that something came through her antique shop and it's all tied to that. Maybe an artifact of some sort that she was looking to sell, or perhaps she knew it had been stolen and the two men she was seen with were going to buy it and there was some disagreement and they killed her. Alternatively, maybe she sold the artifact to them for an insane amount of money and because her marriage wasn't good, she simply took the money and left.
The smartly dressed man sounds like he was probably wealthy and that there may have been a business link of some kind. Either he wanted to buy something, or he may have been an antiques dealer wanting to trade something with her.
I’m sure it was a situation where she trusted a stranger implicitly and he/they took advantage of her kindness. They probably discarded her into the sea 💔😞
It could have been someone who had formed an attraction for her. He told her, but she rejected him because she was married. It passed off but in reality he couldn't forget. He knew of her love of buying objects. so lured away with a promise of something she might like to purchase. The 'back in 2 minutes' was making it clear to herself and her admirer that business was all she wanted from him.
I lived in a little village with a lady running an antique store till she retired. I think people who like antiques just know about it. It's like a hobby shop for people with an antiquing hobby. Not just for people who live there, but people from all over.
The sign back in 2 minutes tells you the solution. She didn't run away. Poor woman's remains just haven't been found is all.
Did she go down to the river and was the river high on that day.

I'd go with someone "well-intentioned but misguided".

Ive never heard of the name Trevolene before
Trevaline
It's literally in the title, how does someone misspell that?
You must have led a sheltered existence. That name was used in the UK in the early 20th century. I have known 2 trevalines.

The plaques remind me of Who Put Bella in the Wych Elm?
A mystery indeed I hope it gets solved

Thanks for another tough case.
Your content and style is amazing. Please can you cover the Mary Shotwell Little case.

How could she have just disappeared like that? 🙁
Abduction with ether/ chloroform. I think that she worked for MI5 and was assassinated by an enemy agent.

She does remind me a little of her too. Mrs. Bucket… poor Trev though.
That's not ironic.

I'm grateful you included a picture of a banana peel 🍌... that was a perplexing part of this mystery !
May be her husband was her killer.
The sketch the person made looks exactly like the husband with his hair and eyebrows dyed. I wonder what his alibi was

This one’s puzzling. I doubt she ran off. I hope she can be laid to rest and this solved.
The police sketch looks like her husband
I think the people of the village would have recognised him.
And apparently he wasn't a very nice man, someone who used to work with the husband told me that.
one of her antiques held a secret regarding the royal family for whom the 2 strangers....1 young, 1 old ... both worked

Unfortunately I feel she was murdered byt very alarming is the murderers are still out there
I think it was the husband, she didn’t take the greenbacks 💰 .., so I think it was her husband…
Richard took that one to the grave ..
Why would the police have removed and hidden her remains? What is the underlying theory here exactly? Who would they be covering for?
There isn't one. It's idiotic.
Were there any water channels or deep bodies of water close to her shop?
Very striking woman. Had an affair and ran off IMO, probably lived to a ripe old age or still alive somewhere.

I think that this lady just had a sudden medical problem and lost her way to her shop. Nothing suspicious.
Years have gone by they would've found a body by now.
I get the vibe that this was dementia followed by an accident.
I thought that myself when I first saw her picture, it would have been early onset though because she was only in her 50s.
