Joanna always played it safe. She was the quiet one in school who was content to live in the background. She liked comfort and predictability.
Then she met Chip.
Chip was everything Joanna wasn’t: risky, dangerous, care-free, and an extreme dreamer.
“If you give Chip a boundary, he’s going to break that boundary, if you give him a rule he’s not going to follow it, and if you tell him, ‘You can’t go over this line,’ he’s going to put his toe over it,” Joanna says.
“I would play a little game with myself to see how out of gas I could get without in fact running completely out of gas, and she was like, ‘Why would anyone want to play that?’,” Chip remembers.
I loved how she said that by playing it safe and following the rules, she thought she would be rewarded. but she learned it's when you step out of your comfort zone and have faith that you really see the blessings. that was something I needed to hear at this point in my life. I also loved how he said the voice in his head is a positive one! we could all use those.

I think that these two are the Bible in persona of sorts. Chip seems like Old Testament God- Unchanging but seemingly Chaotic. And Joanna is New Testament God - Graceful - Peaceful and yet again Solid and unwavering. Alone each is a true but incomplete story, together they are the fullness of God's story of Power, Strength, Love & Compassion.
That is such a beautiful description of this couple. I really enjoy them also. They are so loving to each other and really show others how marriage was meant to be in God eys.

I love how they talk about how God put them together to balance each other out, but to also bring a message and touch the hearts of so many people. They are so humble. I wish people would stop commenting hateful things about their religion and beliefs. God has changed my life so much and I can't imagine what it would be like living without knowing there is a great purpose for me. It's so comforting to know that there is someone that will love you no matter what. Love you even if you hate them, love you when you do wrong, love you when you mess up, love you when no one else does. He has a plan for each and everyone of us. Its unfortunate that people don't believe in Him, He has made things fall together so perfectly many times for me, things that could have never "just happened" the way they did. He truly is an amazing God.
and to all of the people saying they're disappointed in the message, just know that everyone's journey and message is different. For example, I believe You don't have to be saying "Jesus this..." or "Jesus that" every five seconds for people to know about Him. I also don't think you need to go to church to receive blessings. To me, going to church is more of making a community and sharing our journeys with people, not so you look good "in the eyes of the Lord". I believe God cares about your time _with_ Him, not your works for Him. Doing things for Him are great and all, but He doesn't ask for you to "work" for Him. He wants you to _be_ with Him.

My hubby and I have walked with God together for 21 years and I really really really love how our relationship is like these two. There are differences, like I’m a photographer and my husband is my major supporter and partner. He’s pushed me to try things, encouraged me to be the best me, and prayed over me with love and sincerity. I’m the joker, silly and goofy, but still like to know what each step will be and require. My hubby is the risk taker, jump in head first, get a band aid later kinda guy. We both are super extrovert and we both give our devotion to God first. These two are amazing, my hubby and I are amazing, cuz God makes amazing things. 😍😍😍😍

What a blessing to see them this way. I imagine sometimes what it would be like to be neighbors with their family. I can only imagine what their children would teach me. Seriously, adding Joanna and Chip together, their children are glowing in their lives.

*CRYING* I think why this is on the I Am Second channel is because it shows two people who felt lost and now that they've found each other, there's this love and it grows and has blossomed. It's the embodiment of what Jesus is and what he wants for everyone. I think it's beautiful. I feel Chip & Joanna are the real deal, genuine.

So darn cute! Oh my goodness. I absolutely love and look up to chip and Jo's relationship. I would've really liked to hear more about their testimony and coming to Jesus but at least we can be sure that God's influence in their lives is ever strong and evident in the amount of blessings that he's showered them with.
I like this. Great points about Christ taking us outside the comfort zone and leading us to places He has for us. We have to be righteous, but we sure don't have to be safe. This couple is a great example of appreciating and affirming differences, supporting each other's strengths, drawing out and encouraging... God is written all over their adventure. I feel like they reflect a great testimony here. Any fan can see their other videos or read their book to get more detail on faith...

A quick shout out to my non-Christian friends who see this. You may or may not appreciate Chip and Joanna discussing their faith. Maybe you resent it, don't care, or maybe it reminds you of those big questions that keep us all up at night! I invite you to thoroughly investigate who Jesus claimed to be and what he did to back up those claims. It's a very rewarding journey that some of you are already on.
To my fellow followers of Christ, I hope you notice the wisdom and professionalism displayed in this video regarding such an inflammatory, emotional, and misunderstood topic. A heavy-handed or obnoxious presentation of the Gospel is just as wrong as a watered-down one! The right approach starts by reading Colossians 4:5-6. Pray for those who have a media platform like Chip and Joanna. Be glad they are there rather than throwing rocks because they don't say it exactly as you would! I love how they learned from each other and they grew from that. I love their tv show and its encouraging to see Gods part in that.... One thing I was disappointed in, there wasn't much to this video. I have been waiting sense it was posted that they would be on here. It would be nice to have a part 2 to this and hear their separate story with God and how they came to know Him.

I love how God brought me their show to watch in a time where I was overwhelmed and searching and their show just brought me peace. I love seeing their story on how Jesus has worked in their life to change them. I feel in a place where God is helping me get out of my comfort zone and it is very uncomfortable. But I have my husband right beside me and it makes it doable. I want to be a light for Christ and growing closer to God and being that light can be uncomfortable. But like Joanna Gaines said, faith is where things happen. I love you both, God has used your show to give me hope.
Always stay true to who you are in this vlog and on the show because you are this amazing cople and family and its therapy to watch your show . love your kids and how you are raising them .

Gosh, I LOVE these two people! The most genuine, humble, loving, supportive, generous, kind, funny, talented and the list could go on forever! I'm so glad they did their show, I'm REALLY going to miss them and have no idea what I'll watch in their place. I wish they'd reconsider in a few years and come back because they made people really want to become better people. They have such a bright light that shines forth and brings people to the light and makes you want to become whatever it is God wants of you. My husband and I are very similar to them. It’s all about that balance in life. He wasn’t what I thought I needed and not what I was exactly looking for but God knew what I really needed and we are both so happy we were brought together!

We LOVE them and one of the best things about their show is to watch their family dynamics. They don't mind declaring their love for each other and they have four of the most beautiful (and luckiest) children on the planet! They have her Asian features with his coloring and they never have to wonder if they are loved or wanted. That's God to me! With that type of grounding and support the sky is the limit for them! Not everyone is so blessed.

I love this story. I knew that I liked their fixer up show and that they seemed to have a fun but are kind and genuine in there work with the families. I love that their faith speaks loudly with beating anyone over the head. How the two became one in Christ is beautifully told in the their story.
