    My voice may be small and I may represent a minority of the playerbase, but I did not want to turn a blind eye during all of this when I can see we all simply just want the same thing.

      A small voice is infinitely larger than no voice. Glad you could speak up. Believe we when there is a growing number of people not only frustrated with hoyoverse, but also with the lack of actual concern from some genshin content creators. I understand genshin is their livelihood, but speaking out right now is much more important.

      You're probably one of the few to see how stupid the discourse is between the playerbase. Me playing all three realized what was happening like after I caught myself doing the L + Ratio thing..going wtf am I doing. This is ridiculous and people claiming the honkai community is better when they are doing exactly what Twitter is doing. This shouldn't be happening the cause of everything is the higher ups and we are just eating each other alive over pixels and or the samething.

    I didn’t know how bad genshin was until I started playing honkai… it’s truly night and day on how much they care about their playerbase ://

      For me, i loved genshin and enjoyed the versatility of the characters and how you can have fun with them in a bunch of different ways. But eventually the game kinda started feeling like a chore to play, it felt like you had to be available to play it on a daily basis in fear of missing out on an event or whatever, and of course real life doesn't always give you that opportunity. So i played it less and less and them discovered hsr, at the start it felt like a breathe of fresh air cuz there was a lot to do, a brand new story, new characters to fall in love with and new mechanics. But even now i enjoy the game and now that im kinda done with the current story i can focus on building my characters properly, and the main factor of why is the flexibility the game gives you, it allows you to play it whenever you have time and you dont have to fear on missing out on stuff which kinda leads to more enjoyment cuz it feels like the game truly progresses at your own pace.

      I recently branched out from Genshin and found Nikke i thought its just some ass cheeks bait. BUT MY GOD IT HAS SO MUCH ENDGAME I LOVE IT. HSR is also amazing i played it from day 1 and its cbt. If WiWa is also able to maintain its combat focused gameplay and endgame i will drop Genshin in a heartbeat. PGR is also an amazing game but i cant maintain so many games a day so i gave up on it since il will be looking at WiWa.

    What i liked about HSR is their beginner banner, after 50 pulls youre guaranteed a 5 star. I have Dr. Ratio on my team and Im excited to get my second 5 star character.

      And i need too say - standard 5* are GOOD. Clara is always my “i need 4th character” choice, Gepard is my saviour on SU, Bronya is 0 comments, Himeko is my second team main, Welt is Ratio’s god-tear sub dps. It’s A LOT. And i love it.

      @@vengeancewillbemine2104 i am new aswell, one thing that i just found out is, after 300 Pulls on the standard banner you get 1 free 5 star token! you can simply choose one of the standard 5 stars, i wished genshin had something like that xd

      Im a returning player to hsr. Its much better now than it was in 1.0-1.1 I hope yall enjoy it. Penacony has been fire!

      @@zanetf5675 That's a little misleading, cause the game is very generous with the standard tickets early on, and it nearly completely dries up around the 200-220 mark.
      those remaining 80ish pulls are real slow. I've already hit TL 67, have two near fully built teams of limited banner chars, and I don't know if I'll hit 300 standard pulls before the 2025

    Another thing to note regarding the Star Rail weapon/cone banner: not only does it have the pity thing where if you miss it's guaranteed next 5*, it a 75% that the 5* cone you get is the banner. And to go even further, they put each banner cone on a separate banner. It's ridiculous that Genshin still uses that epitomized crap when a game from a different team in the same company implements a much less shit system.

      just the fact that you get free 5 star lightcones from herta puts genshin to sleep.
      it’s like giving all the standard weapons in genshin out for playing the game haha
      but the only good weapon that is not locked behind gatcha is THE CATCH which is locked behind the most BORING thing ever.
      i rather dodge 5000 lightningstrikes in final fantasy 10 than getting the catch r1

      it’s the most boring thing in genshin skipping dialogue in quests is more fun than that
      the fastest way to get this weapon r5 takes like 7 hours of torture (online)
      or 1-2 weeks offline because of respawn time

    I feel like because genshin is so many players' first gacha lots of people arent even aware of how so many systems could be much better
    Really hoping the genshin devs finally listen to the players and implement changes people have cried out and yearned for for so long

      This is so true. I feel like star rail was the wake-up call genshin defenders needed. It’s literally from the same company, yet it’s so jarring how differently the player base is treated in each. Yeah I know if you looked at most other gatcha, you would see genshin isn’t that generous. But since this was so many people’s first, they probably assumed it was normal.

    I've been playing genshin for like 6 months before star rail and my F2P journey is at about the same point in both games, and I have way more jades then primogems

      @@jonnevitu4979yes but hsr does give more pulls on avg every patch which is because there isn’t a thing like playing mechanically better on a turn based game

      Things like breaking an enemy shield between their 2 attacks so their order of attacks gets ruined does exist, this is an example of skill expression, a very important one in some cases.
      The amount of rng that exists in runs is enough to make you be always aware of what you can do at that moment(hell, literally this moc cycle has a blessing that hits enemy at random while having an enemy that needs to be hit 6 times to stop their strong aoe atk... and the blessing counts, sometimes it will help you and sometimes you will want to put your face on boiling water).
      As both Genshin and Star rail 1.0 player, on genshin you just need to do your rotations minimally right and youre good to go but on star rail? Yea good luck trying to always do the same Danil rotation if the healer needs to use a skill point to heal someone or someone just got cc'ed, this is just another example but applies to basically every dps besides maybe dot teams since their dmg is kinda shared between all 3 or 4 members.
      Things like using your Asta ult at the best moment to get the most benefits for your team, remembering to use Tingyun's passive and even the right time to activate advance forward actions like dance dance dance are more examples.

      Yes, I'm sitting on 100+ Warps with just Jarielo VI completed and world 3 where as Completing Mondstad in Genshins and floor 3 abyss i have less than 50 Fates. Also I have explored many regions like parts of Sumeru and Fontaine

    While Genshin f2p can only get up to 65-70 pulls this patch, HSR players can get 100+ in 2.0. And they say it’s because hsr has no exploration. Also thank you for speaking on this subject it helps more than you think

      that honkai has no exploration is the reason why i play it hahaha
      what is the point of an empty world with nothing to do ?
      you just explore genshin for the prinos take them away and people would roam around with 15% map completion

      Honestly i still like Genshin but i want it to improve. I think that's fair. I even still enjoy seeing the world but admittedly that has less to do with Genshin's own efforts and more to do with good lore CCs providing way better context for the events that shape what we see.
      I'm glad there are CCs that with hard to provide this but the story and narrative should fuel that interest itself.

      idk what to think about that, as a old player on Genshin I think the opinion is biased, I got someone into both games and they're more happy on Genshin than HSR right now.
      Yea ofc 1 year vs 4 year game very very hard to compare, they got an awful experience on HSR recently, why ? because the game don't have 70+ characters and in Genshin almost half of it you get it on standard, every limited has a different 4* by a large margin not like a period on HSR with Pela being on almost every banner because besides Silver Wolf there's no other 4* like her.
      The current issues affects more old player that's normal and it will happen to HSR too, every game is having an issue at some point and we are 60+million players on Genshin the biggest portion don't care / log in once in a while / don't really do full content etc... now it's just pray that Genshin team either listen to the vocal minority or keep rolling with casuals.
      If it's second option accept it and log in when the game is relevant or wait for a viable concurrent (that is another problem) and keep playing HSR if you enjoy it more, I mean it's a game if you don't like it anymore just quit it's that easy.

      @@arelfric5964 Seeing as HSR keeps releasing two 5-star characters every patch, it really won't be that long until HSR surpasses Genshin, Genshin has been releasing characters much slower. And what do you mean Pela on almost every banner? Lol, the last time she was featured on one was Fu Xuan's banner which was back in September last year. Newer players (like me, I started in November) haven't had a chance to see her on rate up at all.

      @@namehere578 I said "a period" for Pela 4-5 months ago people were doing post on why Pela is getting rerun again.
      I know they release more characters but they also start doing reruns already too but for now there's still more characters to get in Genshin.
      But sure in a year it would be a blast to start HSR with way more variety for characters.
      And if it doesn't bother some players then cool that's also good if you want to get more eidolons on 4* now before they release more and more.

    Okay so you might have missed out on this, but CN isnt really getting a free skin, they're giving you *one* skin between any of the ones in the shop currently when you buy a ps5. And I mean you have to buy a fresh PS5, everyone who already owned one isnt included in that. I might be missing something however since a big part of the CN outrage was the ps5 thing
    And if I remember this right, they buffed him to calm the CN players down because Zhongli just wasn't really that good, and they were very vocal about it as well which is probably why they buffed him at all

      Thank you for the information! I wasn't aware that you needed to purchase a brand new PS5 for a skin. I cannot understand why a multi-billion dollar company would be asking this from one of their most loyal playerbases. And yes I believe you're right with why Zhongli was buffed, probably a combination of low sales but largely the CN community voicing their complaints.

      ⁠@@EmiMatcha another reason the CN community was so mad about zhongli was because liyue Is based off China as you know, and dragons are very important in culture since they represent bravery nobility etc (things zhongli are) as you know. He was the god of liyue and WAS a dragon so expectations were reasonably high. When he came out being so bad for someone everyone in the CN felt was so important to them they got mad (fair!).
      CAI (manager of genshin) only listens to the CN community (when they riot), so to see him not do ignore everything even when the CN community is rioting too, is very concerning.
      (Another reason everything snowballed this year is because it’s the year of the dragon. An important year that doesn’t happen often (like it happens every 12 years 😭 I think), so 3 pulls was even more like a slap in the face to the CN community.)
      CAI the co founder ,who used to manage honkai impact third and was later moved to manage genshin, is known for being horrible. In honkai impact third for their anniversary (when he managed it) they got nothing, like actually nothing. So you can see how genshin will be going if management doesn’t change.
      Sorry if I’ve wasted your time if you knew all this already, I just wanted to say that as a genshin player since the first year (first venti rerun, when we only got 2 banners each patch), the 3 pulls is only the thing that cracked the ice, the ice was melting for a while now. Of course us day 1 players are mad about the rewards but it’s been like that each year. The fact that makes most of us mad is how they said our money (€3000 I’ve spent this game) is worth a can of pop in return. It’s a miracle genshin even lasted for three (now 4) years, gacha games die off easily, which is why all are usually generous to keep players invested. Gacha games are supposed to give the players the WANT to support there games through financial means, not FORCE them Too like genshin does by adding abyss content impossible to beat for f2ps.
      I spent on genshin half the time because I felt like I needed to, while with hsr I spent on it because I genuinely enjoy the game, I already have enough tickets to pull in hsr. It just deserves the love (we love David for the rewards)
      Forgot to mention that in hi3. CAI put every woman in bunny suits instead of giving rewards, this included the only CN character at the time which people felt were a mockery of there culture and sexualising it to foreigners.. (This resulted in someone bringing a knife to the company and threatening to k1ll Da wei before heading to the roof (I dont know the details)) so yeah..

    great vid, its crazy to me seeing the argument that says that HSR team is giving out more rewards to make up for the lack of exploration but they completely disregard all the other changes like the banner and pity changes and not to mention the adjusted rewards for the quests and limited exploration in HSR (like the golden trotter in each map each giving 60 jades, thats 30 common chests right there)
    also something i really like in HSR LC banners is that its higher chance to win the limited LC (75/25) its not a 50/50, in genshin you have to roll the 50/50 twice, the first to get a featured weapon instead of a standard weapon and then another one to get the weapon you actually want which is just difficult!!

      To me this arguement how HSR gives more currency because it doesn't have exploration is pure copium - it's as if exploration itself is the reward and having more currency for less pointless tedium is a bad thing. I understand some Genshin players are desperate to prove their game is better but most of the time they do the exact opposite.
      Also the one time I tried to get an LC I lost the 75/25 so... 🤷‍♂️

    it’s sad that many people seem to conveniently forget that the loudest HSR players that criticize genshin for its treatment of the players ARE Genshin players (or at least formally). and it’s even more sad that years ago these people have been complaining and calling out Hoyo, but they were met with antagonism from the community about how they should be grateful that they get anything. And all it took for them to realize how bad Genshin really was, was a free Dr Ratio.
    The man will be forever cemented as the single entity that L+Ratio’d the entire community and now they’re finally waking up lol. And I can’t feel sorry for these people. We’ve been telling them for years

      ong. a lot of the people who make fun of & hate genshin are people who played & dedicated a lot of time, maybe money, to play genshin themselves, myself included. the bitterness they experienced after literal years of essentially being ignored & given dirt for their support was bound to develop into resentment at some point.

    I knew they got 10 free pulls every update and a strong limited 5 star but when I found out that they got 20 free pulls just for 2.0 update I decided to quit. Thank God I did because now it came out that Hoyoverse is acting against CN content creators who speak out against them. Truly disgusting.

      HSR only gets that 10pulls per patch and certain even rewards because HSR not has that big map as genshin, so HSR can't put out that many chests and puzzles like genshin. So the "more rewards" are a compensation for the smaller and more limited map size.

      The limited 5star was a marketing move, because they got 3 awards, and 2) the banner would have been not that successful thanks for the other 1.6 and 2.0 banners that more people were hyped for. So the free 5star was just a "if they get this then maybe more people will consider to at least go for his weapon" kind of plan. And also people did talk about the free 5star, which is free advertisement and you know the word of mouth is stronger than you would expect.

      @@tovarishcheleonora8542 Do we get 800 regular chests or 320 chests with 5 gems (or puzzles) every patch? That is the amount needed for 1600 gems. I love Genshin exploration but you need a lot of chests to make up for 10 rolls we get in HSR.

    I joined genshin exactly a year late just before the 1st Anniversary Doomsday, but it didn't take me long to realize that my friends who tried to get me to play since day one and whaled for stuff like ganyu c6r5 etc had already quit because they realized that there was no place to use those characters that they loved and spent hundreds of dollars to pull and BUILD. ( Spiral Abyss wasn't worth it for the time spent given the low rewards and how it is biased according to the current banners ).
    I tried to take it slow and I did, it was a magical feeling for the first few months, but now the game has turned into something like a "once a year good content because of new region release" stuff. Artifact farming with its 7x stack RNG seems to be the devs way to make the people continuosly grind endlessly as a way of engaging with the game. Them adding endgame on top of that without improving artifacts would get them in more trouble I assume, but it is necessary. It has been 3 years now, my raiden still does not have a decent goblet lmao, and my hutao is using shimenawa, not witch set 💀
    Top on revenue chart but least rewards, mostly reused events, and all those time limited lore heavy content that the genshin team put so many manhours into, just locked forever, never to be seen again. I didn't even know about the scaramouche sky is fake event until* some time back from some streamer lmao, also the only reason why I stopped hating on Albedo was because of his winter event. Sad that no new player will ever be able to experience it again unless they hear about it from someone and look it up on youtube themselves.
    Meanwhile it took 3 years to implement a simple "Claim All" button, and that too only after HSR got it 😭
    I say the game is fine but just wish that the devs listened to us, didn't silence us, and actually gave back the love and respect the community has given them to singlehandedly make them a multi billion dollar company ( 5Billion from genshin alone atm ). But it feels like they're using most of that to invest in their other games, twitter emotes ( 1st anni thing ), and china stuff ( like fusion reactor, look it up, old news by now xD ). 3 wishes for 3 years of support feels like an insult, slap and a spit to the face 3x combo T^T

    The first 3 years of HI3rd were also bad in rewards when Cai Haoyu was in charge of the project, then he left for Genshin and HI3rd's rewards improved. and David jiang who was in charge of HI3rd is also in charge of HSR

    HSR literally has a way to play old events and get the rewards…as someone who loved playing genshin and played for years HSR is just better, there isn’t any argument. One of the reasons why I stopped playing was because after so long I still only had a few five stars and would literally have to grind for months to get a character. As a complete f2p in HSR I’ve gotten every character I’ve wished for. There was never a “oh, I missed out on this character” moment because HSR gives enough rewards and events to actually allow for you to get characters you want. After 3 years of playing genshin the only 5 star weapon I have is Diluc’s 💀…I love genshin so much, waited so long for Scara but I just can’t play it anymore

      The thing is losing a 50/50 in star rail doesn't feel as demoralising than compared to genshin not once did i feel disappointed after losing a 50/50 in hsr, because i still had the chance to grind up and actually get the character i had this happened to me with jingliu i lost 50/50, yes i have a built up of 30 pulls prior to her banner. But if i had a 30 build up of pullsin genshin and lost a 50/50 in it feels like there's not much you can do to get the character unless you saved up. Sure you can scrape every corner of the open world to get rewards i did that in genshin as someone who was able to 100% sumeru and inazuma and that gets old way too fast, unless you have a lot of time in the world just to scrape for primogems.

      When it comes to the weapon banner I genuinely feel like Genshin devs realizes how shit it was after they already implemented it and at that point they didn’t wanna change it anymore, so they fixed it in star rail and compensated us by increasing the hsr weapon chances to 75% too 💀

    I’m a spender but the F2P struggle resonates with me. I started with Honkai Star Rail and the rewards are way more user friendly. I started Genshin Impact a few months ago and don’t feel rewarded for the amount and effort and time i put in which enables someone to spend since Genshin isn’t F2P friendly as it should be.       nonono Genshin gave way more jades than HSR (what a joke from those madlads) and wE dOnT nEeD tO pUlL for every single new character to stay in meta (as if HSR isn't LMAO)
      I am a low spender in both games (quitted genshin last year because the time I spent there isn't commensurate to the gains) and I literally almost got every single character in HSR (except kafka, huo huo and topaz). I can still 12 star moc (even if I don't I just lost 60 jades, which is less than a single pull, so I don't even get the point of "meta pressure").
      There is no competition, but the players sure are beyond toxic to compete with each other to create unnecessary meta pressure lmao

      @@icon2719 then why genshin doesnt do artifact loadout like in hsr? they are from same company right? so they must know each other features in game. why not use feature that lets us player save artifact setup we want? because they are clearly competing each other and genshin dev being bitter by using different loadout

      ⁠@@lqfr8813genshin is managed by the cofounder cai (the man who also made the hi3 incident) while hsr is managed by co David (the guy who said hi3) so that’s why the rewards differ. CAI is extremely greedy with rewards, which is a reason why his management was moved from hi3 to genshin. This is what I heard, I can give you a link to a ideo if you want to learn more details

      ​@@lqfr8813Technically they has different Dev so that one thing and the other thing is that, whether theyre under the same company or not the other Dev usually will not care for their other games, basically what im saying is if the Dev is under GI development, they will solely focus on that game, and the same can be said for HSR game, the bad and the good will be focused by their own team. How do i know this? I work under goverment sector, there is Water Development, and Land Development under our sector, but since my only concern is the stuff that happening under Water Development we didnt really care about what happen under the Land Development. Unless, if the problem is underboth side then, yes, we will work together. (Sorry for my bad explaination) 😅

    Eyyy. the first sheet is mine. Thank you for showcase it. Although, I would say, I need to delete that chart since I believe someone said in the reddit post comments, there are more chest from what appear on my chart (not include puzzle). I dont want to bother calculate again since I still believe even including all those extra chests, the amount still in HSR still more than Genshin
    However, I want to put a new caviate here to highlight that in HSR you as a player need to play from the beginning to get those rewards. Why? Here's why
    The whole SU vs Exploration Reward is somewhat skewed since I dont mentioned that you need to play since 1.0 to get all the reward from SU up until 27 patches later. I admit my mistake and own it. Genshin primogems (reward from the chets/puzzles) is permanent where whenever you log in regardless when is it, the gems is still there. It doesnt dissapear or reset. Remember this key word 'RESET'. However if you want to get the same amount as in the sheet, you need to play everyday without skipping any weekly reward since SU rewards reset every week. So if you skip couple of patches, you will lose quite signigicant amount of jades. This one part I give to Genshin for the 'permanent' Gems
    So, to those who take a look at the first sheet which made by me, I hope you understand my point rather than the amount itself. Its not about who gets more, its about proving the point that
    1. HSR 10 pull per patch is not even needed to compensate lack of exploration (already proven in the second sheet). Even without it, HSR player still gets more jades since there are more repeatable rewards (ie, SU, MoC, PF), modes that gives a lot of jades (ie SD and GnG) and permanent and limited events give a little bit more rewards than Genshin equivalent.
    2. Although, I agree rewards not everything, but if people say character is a 'content', then I will argue, not giving currency/reward to pull for character is gatekeeping the content right?

    One of my least favorite things about Genshin right now that I never see ANYONE talk about is how insanely difficult it is to get specific 4 stars and their constallations. a C6 four star is always more unlikely and expensive then getting a featured 5 star. 4 Stars are literally supposed to be the less "good"" f2p option compared to the 5 stars. So WHY are they do annoying to get...? WHY hasn't the Starglitter 4 stars in the shop ever been updated since 1.0... its so stupid and is a perfect example about how stingy and incompetent the Genshin Devs are. So many people are missing 4 star characters for no reason other than they just never showed up. also 4 star weapons shouldn't banner locked either. Everything in the banner system need to be more accessible period. Genshins banner system is literally killing the game.

      1. Ur first point exists in hsr and other gachas. Don’t play most likely
      2. If you think 4 star characters/items are always supposed to be more ineffective than 5stars it’s a clear sign u don’t play enough video games (this isn’t a bad thing nor am I trying to be mean or smth it’s just the truth idk why anyone would even take offence in this but that’s how the internet works)
      3. The shop could potentially see an adjustment since I cba doing the math
      4. Both games have 4 star weapons/light cones that are banner limited(locked) and other gachas 99% do this too

    See, the thing is, i think honkai gives you more because the characters keep passing each other in tier list. While genshin just doesn't need you to get a character to beat the game except maybe spiral. Honkai just has so much stuff and you have to have so many characters to cover everything

    i was out of work and poor during the time that i played genshin and honestly by the time i could start affording topups it was already too late. i played since day 1 genshin and quit halfway through inazuma patches. i just did not feel appreciated, things were just not improving.
    i was honestly hesitant to spend on hsr but ever since 1.4 i've been a spender and i don't regret it a single bit with how i've been enjoying the game and how excited i am for the future of hsr.

      But in those "countless" games you usually will need tons of pulls to get a character from their highest rarity (and i'm not even talking about the amount that you need for limited units). While in Hoyo games you only need 180 pulls to make sure you get the limited unit if your luck is very bad.
      But genshin haters / hoyo haters never calculate with that.

      there's plenty of online discussions that compare gacha game generosity.
      having played many gachas & HYV games, genshin is actually some dirt when it comes to giving back to their players, even when compared to HSR & Hi3rd in its current state.

      For example arknights gives you one at 50-60 soft pity and it's impossible to get to hard pity anyway
      And pgr, the holy grail of generous gacha, gives guaranteed S rank at 60. You can basically get any S rank you want which makes it less like gambling and more like buying the character with in-game currency.
      So far genshin _is_ one of the worse gacha games I've played so far

      @@tovarishcheleonora8542tbh I would say that’s not the case in a lot of gacha I’ve played. Genshin’s rates were always worse than those other games and I still got more currency from them. Even something like Cookie Run Kingdom with how often it bombards players with things to buy is beyond generous to f2p. Since starting I think I have 3-4 characters missing right now, but all banner characters get put into the pool afterwards so I can just get them off banner at some point. Octopath Traveler CotC I’d say is closer to Genshin’s rates, gave us around 100 pulls all together at the start of the year for new years + anniversary as well as a free pull banner for each of them that lasted a week each. Even Kingdom Hearts Union Cross which is probably the only game I’ve played with worse rates had free pulls all year long and was more generous with in game currency (they gave us enough for 10 pulls more often) than Genshin has ever been.
      I’ve never played a game as stingy as Genshin no matter how the rates are. There’s no reason to ever give less than half a single pull to your players for the work they put in. Especially not less than 10.

    I feel like you really felt/came to terms with the situation while you were making this video. You summed it up well... I am a day one Genshin player, I even went their concert last month, but I can confidently say that the QOL in HSR from launch has been night and day. The updates, and speed, have been night and day. The patches/events just seem to feel better. The boss fights (RIP Thiccolia). All the freebies. Even if I don't really feel like I have too much time to play I can knock out dailies in like 10 mins. Genshin had that magic initially, but then it lost it. I most definitely do not play it daily anymore- I logged in maybe 5 times last year? IDK. I'll still hold out hope for Genshin though- I do just want it to feel better to play.
    For now, happy to spend time with HSR. Looking forward to more content from that team instead. Thanks for the video.

    Here's a short list of what longtime Genshin players are asking for more than 3 years.
    -Standard 5 star character selector after xxx amount of wishes. (They have done it in their other game Honkai Star Rail)
    -Option to save a few set of artifacts/weapons per characters, especially for "main characters" (Aether/Lumine, 1 for each region/elements). (They have done it in their other game Honkai Impact 3)
    -Advanced permanent co-op combat challenges with customizable difficulty, buffs, de-buffs, time, HP, etc. (They have done it in events such as : Hypostatic Symphony 2021/01/16, Energy Amplifier 2021-04-30, Legend of the Vagabond Sword 2021/06/25)
    -Resin overflow system like in other Hoyovers games, and/or resin cap and condensed resin cap increase.
    -Optional old events (DLC) to be re-playable for new players and be able to experience hidden/missed lore and mini-games(and can be stored permanently/deleted if the users want to).
    -More options and quality of life updates for every type of players such as; Teapot load limit increase, more in game character emote and pose for role-players, more options for content creators with UI(hide UI/UID#) and advanced audio/video settings(un-cap FPS), skip entire dialogue button for speed runners...
    Any thoughts or suggestions I should add?

      • a free 5* at the beginning of the game
      • free 5* with best single-target damage potential in the game
      • a 5* selector on standard banner
      • 10 whole pulls each patch
      • 20 pulls after 2.0 release
      i wouldn't even be mad if the anniversary rewards was just another 10 pull lmfao, but i don't see them doing only that. people got mad over genshin's anniv because, with so little rewards throughout the first year despite all its success & accolades, all the money it made, its players were repayed with dirt lol. i was there & played the game for 2 years (~720 days).

    I’m a honkai star rail player who started playing genshin impact after all this drama. Something as simple as not being able to auto battle the resource gathering is crazy. I’m most likely only going to play genshin for the story. I don’t really see myself as of right now grinding abyss because it just seems like way too much investment for little to no return. Also I thought lightcones were a little predatory. I’ve only ever pulled on one but seeing that your pity doesn’t even carry over for weapons in genshin, that’s crazy to me

      i used to play genshin & had done so for the better part of 2 years.
      when i started HSR, my fear of genshin's weapon banner had kinda carried over. however, after biting the bullet & trying it for the first time for a character i like, now i have 4 limited 5*s with their signature LCs. that, & i have 8 limited 5*s total (including an E1 Ratio which was accidental as i wasted pity after misclicking to pull for his LC).
      i plan to try & only pull for 5*s i like, & it's easier to rest assured i can drip them out with their weapons. onlythe best for my hot anime guys.

    Yeah the wep banner on genshin is crazy. Ppl recommend having like at least 210 pulls ready. You have to have more pulls for a wep then the 180 for a character ready wth is that. They it's still a 75/25 you get a standered wep even tho if you hit now it's a 50/50 if it's the right wep. Then the pity for choosing which wep doesn't carry over wtf is that

I honestly can not go back to genshin after experiencing the QoL updated that HSR gives its community, ESPECIALLY compared to genshin. Honkai star rail make playing the game feel WORTH IT.

    The biggest Problem Genshin has compared to Honkai SR is the missing endgame. You can argue Spiral Abyss is endgame but after enough time (especially after 3 years and if you have constellations on characters if you are a spender) you probably can easily clear it.
    In Star Rail we not only got 2 rotating endgame modes that need completely different team compositions (AOE vs Single Target) but also the up to +12 Conundrum lvl difficulty in Gold and Gears.
    With those you can really test your account. Even if you are a gigawhale you WILL get clapped at certain difficulties if your composition is ass.
    The main reason for me to go into Honkai daily is to buff my characters to infinity and still get deleted by the Swarm if the difficulty is too high or preparing for the next MOC. (Also Pom-Pom daily quests)
    If i completed or arent currently not interested in exploration/puzzles, why should i log on Genshin?

    Genshin stans are so dumb. Sure, Exploration and Lore is cool and appealing at first glance. But after 3 yrs of doing same puzzles and bad story telling (Fontaine is a bit better though), where the game is good at, it aint fun. We out here asking for change and the Genshin stans are too dumb that they slam us down and defend their Predatory company who makes more than 10 billions solely from Genshin but no high-quality QoL, permant Coop mode and minimum rewards. This is not about the rewards. It is about Respect.

    I dont think it is fair to compare genshin first year to hsr first year. Do we expect them not to learn from the past? Why would they choose to leave out QOL changes instead of making the game better from the start? I am not commenting on current genshin vs hsr because i dont know enough about it, but comparing a game state from 4 years ago to now is not useful.

    I have started playing Genshin like a year ago. Completely free2play, never paid for battle pass never paid for welkin daily primos. No one gives me anything, no microcurrency transfers like they give to streamers in HSR.
    Just 100% F2P in Genshin. Was encouraged to play by seein promo vid for Dheya. Her battle animations looked so powerfull. Told myself I have to check this game everyone is talking about and pull that flame punching cool beauty as my first 5star character.
    I did her trial and told myself "she does not feel like a game changer for my account". After playing Lost Ark, I said I will not care what other people say, screw the meta I want my account to be fully mine not a meta clone brainlessly following another "messiah streamer" bible that tells who to gatekeep in raids etc. But my resources as F2P are limited and there are like 70+ characters to choose from. So my 1st character was recommended by a random person who joined my world and helped me clear few bosses. For who to pull next I hidden my pride and checked what characters are traps and which are recommended.
    Everything else were the characters given to me for free.
    After a year....
    I am still F2P,
    I can clear last stage for spiral abyss with a 1star.
    I have 10 carefully chosen and fully build characters (including guaranteed 4 stars - Lisa, Xiangling, Barbara, who I still use for Abyss)
    On the other hand, I do play HSR as well, but I do pay for Monthy Express pass so I am not F2P in HSR. And as a result I have similar outcome in MoC as in Spiral Abyss.
    So as a 1 year player for both games I don't think that its fair to compare of what we get for free in one game vs what we get in another.
    Genshin is a different game in a different state. Its almost 4 years old. In the beginning of my adventure I could choose from sum of 3 years of characters vs unexplored territory of HSR future characters.
    I could farm primogems from 3 years of quests and puzzles, exploration in general.
    I have 10 characters for Genshin and I feel more satisfied with that number then I would in HSR.
    So despite the fact that I would love to get more free stuff in Genshin I could understand why Hoyo is more generous in a fresh game comparing to the game where most people achieved everything. Many people simply burned out of playing it for multiple years and left.
    They need to maintain the product for everyone who still enjoys the game.
    Giving stuff for free when most people don't need it, but want it, might put a game in crisis.
    And putting that perspective in comparison to HSR might negatively impact generousity in a younger game since Hoyo is in charge of both of em.

    this is a great video and i really have to agree with you that both these communities should stop this incredible hate spirale towards each other. In my opinion it has gone so far that some people have developed a disease because they are just hating all day on each other on different platforms. i made a comment under a wuthering waves video from a hsr content creator, that right i dont really feel this game(i wrote 3x that this is only my opinion) and that i will of course try it and hope it will catch me (or rather not since i dont want another gacha game :D) and the only comments that i got were mentally sick people that startetd rambling about genshin and how much it sucks and how much i suck and how stupid i am since i am a genshin player(which i havent played for more than a year at least) and i think this is really alarming that content creators foster communities in which such a behaviour is normal and encouraged

    Great video Emi, I played some gachas before genshin like Epic Seven so when i started playing Genshin on release I soon realized how much wasted potential and stingy was. Many Genshin players never played other gacha so dont realize that, i am happy that now with HSR people start to realize and feel what i felt back in the day.

    QoL changes still missing in Genshin after 3+ years:
    - saveable artifact preset loadouts
    - endgame content other than Abyss
    - improved kits of certain character kits
    - artifact substat reroll once artifact reaches level 20
    - artifact main stat selector, or a way to target the artifact main stat wanted.
    - portable crafting table
    - 5* standard selector
    - 5*geo character in Standard Banner
    - access to buy previous 4* event weapons
    - add Tighnari’s bow & Dehya’s claymore in Standard pool
    - increased artifact inventory

    I actually was never really obsessed with Genshin because I’ve played other Gacha and rpgs waaaaaaay before it ever existed. I even tried playing Honkai but got bored near the beginning and uninstalled it. Playing Genshin a year later, I could see why people were so obsessed with it. There was no other game that was like Genshin. It was Gacha, but it was also open world. Which was a major plus for everyone who were stuck inside during 2020, literally sending them to another world to escape how horrible life was. For others, it was their first gacha+rpg.

    Going for decent crit to crit dmg is hard but holy sheet how I hate having to go for a specific speed too on most dpses in star rail
    If that wasnt enough, you cant go for off pieces without losing a 4pc bonus.

Being a day 1 Genshin player and now playing Star rail now and barely any Genshin, I agree with all your points. At the end of the day, if we dont feel the game is good, i would say just play less so we dont get hurt mentally too

    Genshin doesn't need you to pull for any chars. Standard characters and weapons are more than enough to beat anything, with almost any team composition. On Star rail you need to get the perfect char team for even wild encounters, which often requires limited characters.

      Beggar I am playing genshin for over 3 years and HSR nearly from the start,I am also f2p at both games. If you really care only about goddamn dopamine rush then you should start playing average png gacha games which gives 100s of free pulls

    I only pull on the weapon banner when I've saved up enough to hit hard pity thrice. And the only reason I can afford to do that (as a welkin player) is by skipping most banners. I got eveything I need to clear abyss 12 and I usually don't even bother, I just like having characters I've hyperinvested in

    Im not spending during the entirety of 4.4 and beyond on any hoyo game due to their poor decisions since I want improvements in not just rewards but endgame, perma content, qol, etc
    Theres just no reason to spend money on genshin anymore. Theres no point in collecting the next waifu or husbando because no endgame content. I cant play with them. Thats one of my biggest frustrations besides being completely insulted for spending and supporting this game for 3 years.

    i think one of the biggest things i’ve noticed and been able to put a voice to was that you’re guaranteed to get about 300 jades every week with simulated universe, which isn’t even two pulls but it’s crazy how just that little difference can add up to such a better game impression for players

    This is not really accurate. Honkai has much more powercreep. In Genshin most characters are on the same level, with very few differences. What does this mean for a game? It means a character you pulled 3 years ago still does as much damage as the characters that are released today. This is very rare for Gacha games. What this does for the overall balance for a game is that each primogem is worth more in terms of account quality than other games. In Starrail many people have constellations in order to progress in the various systems.

    At the end of the day, people forget that most Gachas are turn-based gameplay. Hoyo needs things that makes their game attractive in comparison to other turn-based Gachas. Many games like Epic Seven, Dokkan Battle, OPTC are also high in revenue. That said, Hoyo needs to do stuff that makes their game better than others. And that's where the generousity comes from.
    People say that Hoyo listens to the HSR playerbase. A person who has experience with Gacha would never say this. A Gacha Company never listens to their players. The only thing they want is money. So they do everything that brings them more money. More rewards = higher retention = more players = more money. HSR's mobile revenue reduced to 20 million this month. A number that Genshin never even comes close to.
    Sad to see how few people can actually apply simple logic to business decisions.

    18:27 You are right it may not have been easy but not impossible. I did not like how you said that there are videos of creators clearing Star Rail content without warping or with only 4 stars but completely ingnored Genshin players who showed (or still do now) starter and free characters 36* Abyss clears. It is disingenuous bc your argument came across as "in HSR you don't need to warp to comfortably clear while Genshin without pulling is too hard", imo is too biased with respect to the beginning of the video which is very objective and presented with proof/facts. "If I didn't do the limited time events, ..." well that is an uncertain statement and guess we will never know what would have happened. 🤷
    [I have seen some warpless clears and there are not comfortable at all, need a LOT of game knowledge and attempts on top of the investment in relics so... ]
    Also f2p doesn't mean not pulling characters or weapons, how is it relevant? /gen

    Oh my goodness, I don’t play genshin so when they showed the reward as 3 intertwined fates, I thought it was the equivalent of 3 Ten Pulls in star rail, that is fucked up only giving 3 singles, I hope the genshin community gets what they deserve cuz that is insane.

    Im gonna be honest, i have only played hsr for like 3 weeks as f2p, i already got dr ratio, bronya, black swan, himeko, yanqing as 5 stars, AND S5 f2p 5 star lightcone. Compared to Genshin that i played from 2021, HSR is WAYYY more f2p friendly than Genshin EASILY

    As a f2P player in both games ( I started genshin 6 month beofre star rail), it is way easier to clear spiral abyss and I enjoy the combat system more in genshin, Also, the fact that you cannot have an offset piece is very hard for f2p players and is the reason why my charas of genshin are better build than star rail.
    In the end, the amount of fates you get is important, but not as much as many players think, because you dont need to have every character to have fun in the game and to defend genshin, powercreep is not nearly as present as in star rail.

    People saying that HSR gives more currency because lack of exploration. I think exploration should give you more primos because it can be a hassle exploring sometimes I enjoy it but still crazy to do an annoying puzzle and get 5 primos.

    In genshin I had 1 5* weapon in the entire time I played the game, because I simply couldn't afford to wish that much so I always went for characters, the best charecter I ever built was c2 Raiden shogun.
    In HSR I have multiple 5* TEAMS with best in slot weapons and decent relics (relic luck isn't great) I can full clear all endgame content and do any challenges I want to do.
    I love genshin, it was a breath of fresh air in gacha games when we really needed it, but HSR actually values my time and effort.
    You get more for the time investment in HSR then you do in genshin

    reality is if your going by pulls HSR is better but if your going by impact of pulls based on being f2p genshin is better.
    when i started playing honkai december last year i also made a second genshin account and i can tell you only one of those accounts in struggling in certain content due to bad pulls and that's HSR.
    people need to understand genshin started years ago with a plan and it will stick to that and any game developer making a new game will look at that and improve it for the next game my friends it's called evolution that's how games work. why do people want so badly for the developers to take the originality out of HSR and put it in genshin do you won't both to succeed or both to fail. i really get the feeling people want b. let the games be different genshin has always had crap rewards and it never mattered outside of lantern rite until HSR.
    why after 3 years because of HSR are rewards so important you already have a built team genshin will alter things as it sees fit as it's been doing

    Thank you for making this video. I'm not really a f2p player but the only thing I purchase in Star rail is Express supply pass and genshin version of it, I can say from playing both games is that I feel imo star rail respect my time better overall and i don't feel im missing out on getting what i want unlike with genshin. My experience with the Weapon banners and feelings I'm wasting my very little gems I can get with the game made me kinda hate the game. But I'm enjoying star rail 2.0 and I hope some day for me that genshin can become a more enjoyable game in the future

    I love both games, but I don’t play Genshin regularly anymore. I love the world, but the grinding is exhausting. And I don’t mean the open world and opening treasures etc for primos, but the artifacts, and the materials.. Some of them you have to keep track of which day you need to play, others you get shafted by rng (weekly boss talent mats). And the fact that I feel like I HAVE to spend all my resin or I’ve wasted it. I LOVE the way Honkai did it with both first increasing daily tb power, and then letting it accumulate into a saved pool. I don’t feel stressed or forced to log in at all (unless I want the daily jades but nowadays those take like literally 5mins to do).

    I remember spending 700 dollars on the Klee banner the first time around.
    (I had a settlement from a company i was at) god that was just wasted money...I havent touched genshin really since inazuma came out because i was so mad at hoyo..Star Rail is so much better, i dont mind giving Star rail money because its just so much better in every single way over genshin..It really seems to be aimed more towards a mature audience too which is nice
    My only complaint on HSR is i used my Standard banner 300 pity on bronya and i freaking pulled her on my next 10 pull after that..and now i have E3 bronya when i couldve had Himeko from the pity lmao

    The Genshin stinginess really hurts when you’re playing the game casually it creates a divide between people playing daily and spending on the monthly pass compared to people that play for fun every other patch. Missable events, lack of resources, no long form content etc. only hurts Genshin and this is from someone who still plays.

    I played genshin for 1000+ days
    I played HSR for 30 days…
    In 30 days I have build HSR characters better than my Genshin.
    As F2P, I have already pulled 2 signature banner lightcones, got 2 signature banner characters (Kafka and Blackswan), got a free Dr Ratio, got standard banner pulls E1 Gepard and E0 welt.
    Genshin could never.

      The game has a higher player base. Higher view counts across the board. Has made the most money. Is the reason your even playing hsr.
      The amount of disrespect yall will have towards a game jusy cause you're entitled is crazy.
      When Hst averages 60 million players a month we can talk about cause thats some hsr could never do.
      Not to mention powercreep in a turn based game hits harder so have fun with your units that will be power crept in a few months

    Personally I don't really care about the reward system. I feel indifferent about it. But other things you mentioned like the pulling system could use work (a lot of work) someone in the comments mentioned saving sets for artifacts they also need to work on coop stuff like not being able to unlock waypoints. And I'm sure there's many more things I feel take a higher priority and should have been implemented from the beginning. I'm not a fan of HSR I've quit three times and only went back to get Black Swan I've tried to understand the hype even with all the rewards they give it doesn't keep me playing. But to each their own you know? And some people think that just because some don't care about the rewards it's their first gacha but I've played many and the rewards alone can't keep someone engaged. I hope my little ramble made sense 😓

I had over 200 pulls because I never felt like pulling for any character until Black Swan 🙈 I'm a purple girlie can't help it lol In GI there are some days that I just like to jump/fly around and do nothing look at the scenery and enjoy the music.

    I have been a gamer for like 20 years xD 1 month into the game and I already saw some obvious flaws and whenever i pointed it out, i always got shit one
    and i believe any gamer would notice those flaws too
    later on, i realized that most genshin players are new gamer who got bored from covid and just getting used to the game

    As an early f2p player of genshin. I can understand that the gacha is rough for a new players. Back in the day we only pulls for the character that we like or straight up broken. Accumulated over the years and we basically got everyrhing we want. Meanwhile in star rail. I only play it casually and I got all the broken characters. The 5s are easy to come by.
    But if you ask me what I enjoy the most. I would say its probably genshin. Sure I like HSR but I cant play it long. It somewhat bore me to play. The only thing that drives me to play it longer is when im clearing MoC and pure fiction.

    Dude I played Genshin since Klee’s first banner to early this recent patch. My artifact RNG was so garbage that the two or three 5* Pyro goblets I had were trash.
    I haven’t gotten to the point in HSR that I need to hardcore grind for relics. Maybe it’s better idk. But I’m enjoying the game a lot. There’s so much to do it’s almost a bit overwhelming.

    It's good that people are speaking out on their unhappiness. While i personally don't have any strong feelings about the lack of rewards, the push for better QoL updates is something i can get behind. But let's be honest here, as much as the players try to push back, they're still the very small percentile of Genshin's playerbase. Even if 1 million of players boycott and quit the game, it's 1.5% of the current 65 million active players. The current state of pushback is vastly different than when Zhongli's release riot came out. Hoyo as a whole has gotten so big that they can do nothing and will still profit. I've seen videos on people rallying people to boycott the game. But in reality boycotting just Genshin won't make a difference. If you're skipping this current patch 4.4 and come back in 4.5 the boycott literally meant nothing. If you're still playing HSR or HI3 while boycotting Genshin, You're only shifting the company's revenue. Hoyo games players are very easily won over, the second a very popular character comes out everything will go back to square zero.

    I used to play tons of gacha mobile games in the past. I tried Genshin on day one and realized how scarce the rewards and the stamina system was for the game. Immediately turned me off after a few weeks of playing.

    The person in charge of genshin is known to be stingy. He previously was in charge of HI3 and during that time, the rewards were also trash. This person can't be removed because he is a major share holder of Mihoyo and was the previous CEO of the company.

    I dropped GI around 4.1, I was already in an annoyed phase because of Sumeru at that time. Going through 4.0 and 4.1 didn't help at all because of how bad the delivery was. I also picked up HSR during the Blade banner and was playing side by side. I was clearly only enjoying one game so I ended up dropping the boring one. I played HSR for pretty much the same duration as Genshin and I have way more veriety of characters and still enjoying the game. In GI the pulls were so scarce and overall an awful experience. I even pulled on the lightcone banner as f2p twice and have 0 regrets.

    I've played some gacha games, like ffbe:wolv pokemon masters. But I've enjoyed playing hsr since August, love what they've done with dailies and 240 trailblaze power along with the overflow system (forgot name). Grinding for traces can take a while and then trying to get relics with good stats. But I would recommend hsr as a ftp player

    I actively avoided pulling LCs because I came from Genshin and knew it was a scam there. Now I regret not pulling on LCs for my main characters.
    Also want to point out that in HSR, it's a 75% / 25% for the limited LC, which is also a big deal.

    Great video. I saw this on my recommended (probably because of the Genshin "drama" going on) and I don't even play Genshin. I've played it for 2h and uninstalled the game and seeing this video makes me really happy I didn't continue playing the game. Must've been a hard time as a f2p/low spender. I cannot compare the two but what I can say is that HSR has been very enjoyable as a f2p. I hope the Genshin players get the treatment they deserve especially after supporting the game for so many years.

    The homa incident was like this: genshin have the if you fail you get a guarantee rate up the next time the thing is the guaranteed was still split between "staff of homa" and wolf's gravestone, this person sadly when it was the guaranteed it was the wolf gravestone instead of homa, so it was like fail->guaranted (wolf), or wolf->wolf->wolf till he loses the 50/50 and then the guarantee was the wolf, instead of separating the banners they added the 3 fail safe.

    If you're building Raiden on Emblem, the more efficient way would have been to settle for ATK cup, since her kit's massive electro dmg bonus makes it so it's very close to electro cup.
    19.25% drop rate for ATK cup vs. 5% drop rate for electro cup, you would have easily gotten viable on-set ATK cup in that time, it's just that you ignored it looking for perfect.
    The rate limiting piece in this scenario becomes ER sands or crit hat, which while still beholden to RNG is a huge improvement over most other units that have to default to off-set cup.

    I play both games and I 100% agree. Getting new characters and LCs in Star Rail is sooo much easier than in Genshin. And saving your currency for a unit you want also feels much faster and easier.
