  • "The internet is OBSESSED with the #60SecondRule." Cosmo Magazine's words! Not mine.
    The 60 Second Rule is an original skincare tip I developed to help clients get the most out of their expensive cleansers. Cleansing your face (with your fingers) for 60 seconds allows the ingredients in the cleanser to actually work. Most people wash their face for only 15 seconds.
    The 60 Second Rule softens the skin & dissolves sebum blockages better. Texture & overall evenness improves.

    • @skinsciencebymira
      @skinsciencebymira 5 років тому +134

      Eriq not all licensed estheticians are correct 🤷‍♀️ there’s some really excellent estheticians out there who really know their shit but there’s just as many who give out bad advice. Some esthetician programs are better than others and it’s a pretty short program too - around 600 hours in most states and they don’t even learn about skincare for that entire time. They also don’t even take the basic chemistry and biology classes that a science major would take much less medical classes.
      So I understand someone not jumping to believe some random esthetician that he doesn’t know. It would be different maybe if you were mentioning a dermatologist or cosmetic chemist. And they would have included a study to support their suggestions, not anecdotal reports from Twitter.
      If 60 seconds works for you though then keep doing it.

      depending on user's skin, usage and frequency, it may do more harm then good due to over exfoliating. Oil cleansing first, cleanser second, followed by exfoliator works better. u can even incorporate an ultrasonic scrubber- it's a lot more gentle than the Clarisonic. but, to each their own. see what works best for you 😌

      Juts a tip: order one from china ( I bought one)...works exactly same as those higher paid advertised vanity planet brushes but costs a lot less. tinka babe sis, spin brushes will RUIN your skin Barrier if you don’t use them correctly which, is light pressure; very light pressure since it already spins it’s doing all the work for you! Exfoliatin should be done 4-5x a week you want to give your skin a break from exfoliatin for atleast 2-3days. Yhis also includes chemical exfoliatin. I personally feel like spin brushes are a lot of up keep/maintenance so I do a combo of chemical and physical exfoliating but I don’t use a spin brush; I use a face dry brush twice a week or a white rag depending on how I’m feeling. GOODLUCK Though❤️😀

    • @tamiyajackson3147
      @tamiyajackson3147 5 років тому +11

      I dont use a spin brush everyday. Just when my skin is really oily or when I wear makeup. I can tell a difference when I use a spin brush vs just fingers. If you wear makeup and have oily skin, I would suggest a spin brush. You don’t have to use the highest speed or apply a lot of pressure but it will help deep clean your skin

      This is also where a great moisturizing (alcohol free) toner would come in. In Korea they call it a “lotion” but it is essentially a thin, moisturizing liquid you pat on your face after/instead of using a more abrasive toner. It works wonders for heightened product absorption. My fave is Kikumasamune sake lotion. It’s a Japanese brand and I order mine from amazon. It is amaaazing!

    • @liz5473

Im trying to get rid of a lot of hyperpigmentation so currently I use the eucerin daily moisturizer because of the really light texture and spf. Doesn't break me out! Maybe I'll try that product as well. Thanks.

Guess what?!! Not a single pimple. My skin stayed smooth. No more cysts. Also, my skin is evening out. I had bad discoloration on the sides of my mouth. That lightened up a quickly. I think proper cleansing has unclogged my skin and allowed for products to seep in.

    My skin purged like crazy for months but I think it was a cleanser issue bc my skin went from super oily in the summer to pretty dry when the fall got here but I think I’m finally towards the end of my breakouts 🙌🏾 my husband has been doing the 60 second rule and his face looks amazing 🙄 men smh lol

    • @skinsciencebymira
      @skinsciencebymira 5 років тому +17

      RaKetra Snipes purging occurs from actives like retinol/retinoids encouraging cellular renewal as well as some chemical exfoliants like AHA/BHA. Purging should only occur in areas you normally have pimples and they’re always small white heads. If you’re getting cystic acne, it’s in areas you don’t normally break out, or you’re not using an active like the ones mentioned then it’s NOT purging and you should immediately discontinue any product causing that.

    • @BbGun-lw5vi
      @BbGun-lw5vi 5 років тому +2

      RaKetra Snipes men are so lucky when it comes to skin. I’ve struggled with so many cleansers. Try the vanicream gentle cream cleanser. It’s sold on amazon.
      It’s ph balanced and free of all irritants. It’s amazing. Won’t dry out your skin while still cleansing.
      I also love the cetaphil moisturizer that comes in a jar (you can get it with a pump). It’s incredible at healing a compromised skin barrier which is often the cause of acne. Acne products damage the skin barrier. But with this one, first spot test a small area of the face because everyone is different and you want to make sure it doesn’t give you skin bumps. Most people love it. Don’t get the lotion.

And also I used to wash my face for only like 15 seconds, because I thought it should be like that. But when I found this tips, OMGGGG my face is slowly changing but sure!!!! I have no acnes anymore, unless if I have periods or I'm just lazy to do the double cleanse but they're not attacking me like hell anymore. THANK YOU WHOEVER INVENTING THIS TIPS. GAME CHANGER!!!
    I have been doing this for 2 days ONLY and I am not exaggerating my skin is GLOWING sissss
    I have less pore visibility, my skin looks more even and healthy, it’s crazy how quickly my skin has reacted to this!!
    If you’re reading this YOU HAVE YO TRY THIS, I have been posting this all over my socials and telling all my friends.
    Some skin info: I have combination skin, was a lot more on the oilier side but has since improved since eating a cleaner diet and drinking 2-4lrs of water a day, I barely get spots/pimples, but get blackheads down my t-zone (mainly nose) I use Lush angels on bare skin face cleanser or st ives apricot scrub or when I’m at my bfs the bulldogs face scrub (which I love) I wear no to light makeup 5 days a week and full makeup 2x a week, overall my skin is not bad, but this just made it near perfect, please please give it a try, this has to be a staple in my skincare regime moving forward, it is AMAZING

    I wish I could yell this from the rooftops. This is the best skincare tip. I double cleanse every night and use the 60 second method for my oil cleanser and then my foaming cleanser and there is not a spec of sunscreen/makeup left in sight. I wash my face in the shower and like to rinse for a full 20 seconds after each cleanse, which also makes a big difference. It takes a few minutes but it 💯 worth the extra couple minutes.
