    I have these Equipments for Live performance -
    1. Fender Acoustic 100 - 100-watt Acoustic Amp
    2. Boss RC-30 Loop Station
    3. Yamaha Acoustic guitar
    4. 2 Mics (1 is Sennheiser and other is Behringer Ultravoice Xm8500 Dynamic Vocal Microphone, Cardioid)
    I need some advice on what settings should I set in the Amp, looper, and Guitar for best live sounds.
    Any advice on getting some more instruments for enhancing the sound quality?
    I like to play Ed-Sheeran songs and would really appreciate any tips.

    Ohh Dr.Dan why a lot of voice teachers has different teachings regarding on how to use microphone? Some of them said always eat ur microphone when singing at keep distance a little bit when SINging high.. anyway honestly, I did what u said in this video long time ago and untill now in my singing live..

  • @Mtaalas
    @Mtaalas 5 років тому +2

    I'd never use supercardioid in a live setting, only cardioids. The stage wedges would induce too much feedback and they require really good handling skills from the user, types of which most of us don't have the luxyry to do business with...

    If you cannot answer, you do not have to answer.
    If my voice is low and mostly bass, should I move away from the microphone?

    • @DrDanRobinson
      @DrDanRobinson  Рік тому +1

      There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as it depends on your specific microphone and recording setup. Being too close to the microphone can cause a "proximity effect," leading to distortion and boomy sounds in bass voices. It's essential to experiment with different distances and positions to find the sweet spot that works best for your voice and equipment.

    How you define the difference in "flat response" and "acoustically responsive". My experience is that the cardiod dynamic works better with male closeup, while the condenser has a wider response that can be tailored to male, female, and instrumental use. Excellent recommendations!

    Great. There are various distances from the mike if you are a very dynamic singer. Also depending on the sensitivity of the mike. Also, some singers could have 2 mikes if their budgets allow for it. For example, my Neumann can be too sensitive and feedback or recieve too much background noise in some live situations, so I always bring my Shure beta 58 that's easier to eq.

    Ive been singing since I was 8 years old, and have never had an issue singing on a mic. But lately, I have taken some lessons that has made my voice project differently. Im hitting notes without having to use so much breath or effort. And I have noticed when I sing on the mic I sound horrible, because I feel like my projection is too loud or too strong. But when I try to calm my voice down (so to speak) it only makes it worse. Yet without the mic I sound awesome. I'm affraid to sing kareoke anymore. Im scared, cuz Im working on my first mixed tape, and am due for studio time soon.
    If anyone can give me suggestions or advice on what my issue may be and how to remedy it, I would truly appreciate it.

    how is that possible because you can’t exactly sing always making it stay in between them sooo......

    OR
    sing my normal loudness and set it by that

    questions....I have a large deep church like voice and have found a unidirectional mic works best. Also ....unless I bring my own 55 mic most venues have a mic I have to hold out a foot or more away from my mouth. Can you tell me what I should ask the sound crew to do to help a voice like mine be mic-ed properly.

    • @TheresaTV1
      @TheresaTV1 6 років тому +2

      You just need to ask them to turn down the volume on your mic feed. That should be done during the mic check before the show. Bust out your loudest note and let the sound tech adjust the volume. Technically, they should even be able to do that during your performance if they're paying attention.
