I totally agree with you Nathan. It's about carving your own path and learning to be more in tune with your soul. That's why Mrs.Coulter wanted to cut the daemons from the children. Without free will and a soul/consciousness to guide you, everyone would follow the same path.

My friend keeps wanting me to watch this. I tried twice and it really does just suck. I bet the books are better and help fill the many gaps in the show, but all in all this is a bad show.
Books are brilliant! Would highly recommend! I haven't watched the series but the books are a real page turner. I also bought the audiobook and listen as I read. It really enhances the experience and somewhat feels like a movie you read because you have all the sound effects and different character voices.
