I would say try to avoid family names but for friends it's fair game! Especially as the boys won't be the same age! I'm a health visitor and I struggle with names cos they all get related to my families and the area I work in is rough!!! So I love a name but then I'm like ooh they were on a child protection plan! It's hard when names get associated with someone but when you have this baby he will be a little person of his own and will take whichever name on that you choose. Even if that's the same as Freddie!
Use Freddie I’d be flattered if somebody used my child’s name. With popular names I think you just accept that there will be others. I have a George, Charlotte and Emily so went with a popular choice
Names are so weird! Like how Linda would be soooo weird right now. Yet it’s not wildly different from Olivia, or Ava, or Isla, or Matilda 😂 yet Linda sounds so weird!?
I’m 17 weeks but I am expecting a little girl. This is my 5th !!! I am in hospital at the minute because the other day I collapsed as my iron levels were so low!! I’ve been in here for a week!!! My children are Thea, Arlo, Ruby, Jaxon and we have decided on the name India do this baby ❤️❤️💕 Stay safe xx
Simply put, There’s more than one Freddie in the world. If you like it, 100% use it or you’ll always wish you had. (Trust me 😥when pregnant with my only boy I had a name but someone I knew used it just before I gave birth so I changed my sons name and have always kind of regretted it, not because I don’t like the name I gave him because I do and he has grown into it and he is his name if that makes sence? I just regret not giving him the name I originally had for him and I still love it to this day. had 3 girls so never got to use it and actually I don’t see that mum and her son anymore cos I’ve moved! So I could and should have just kept it after all! ) Babies grow into their names. I’ve just had my 4th and couldn’t decide... but she would have grown into any name I’d chosen and that’s the way round it goes. You choose the name and they grow into it with their uniquely individual looks and personalities. So no two Freddie’s will ever be the same. Your Freddie will be completely different to any other! ❤️
My husband and I have always loved the name Elliott. His cousin had a baby and names him Elliott before we decided to start our family. We were so disappointed that we couldn't use that name. However we have called our second son Elliott as we never see his cousin. But as it's one of your best friends it may be a little confusing at playdates. Love following your baby journey xXx
What? Juniper? Oh, come on! Juniper as a baby and infant, junie as a toddler and preschooler, juju in primary school, ju or june in high school and June after... it works for life! Great one though!(: and it’s on my VERY long list 😅
But Linda means BEAUTIFUL in Portuguese! My friends and I will say "Linda😍" to compliment each other :-) Then again, I have a traditional name which never seems out of date!
I think it’s totally ok to use the same name as a friend, especially where the name is not particularly unusual. We have a Grace and I can’t tell you how many people we meet that say “we have a Grace too!”. I would take it as a compliment that a friend thought I had such great taste in names 😂 Also I’m not sure any baby “looks” like their name. Grace was a chunky baby with very dark hair, her name didn’t suit her until we’d been saying it a few days. Now I can’t imagine her as anything else! If you like Freddie go for it 😘😘
How often do you see these friends? I ask because if you see them every day (socially distanced of course) then yes I suggest using another name, however if you only see them like once a month (pre lockdown) then go ahead. What about using a longer form for Freddie or Teddy, both Frederick and Edward go well with Harry and Houchin. Also, what's your feeling towards Rob? I ask because as you like Bobby, what about Robbie
My daughter would have been a Harry if she had been a boy - and I also have a Freddie, they go so well! She’s an Elsie now ☺️ She would have been a Mabel if I’d had my way! I ADORE Juniper though!!! My mum is also a Linda! Baby Linda! Haha! xx
Lovely names ! So exited to follow your next baby journey. I have a 3 year old Called Ivy and a 9 month old called Huxley. I love names with unusual lettering (high scrabble score names) x
Hi Lucy, so excited for you. I have a William, now 26! I was really not keen on the name initially, we had Thomas first and he is Thomas William, , my husband was desperate for a William, so prayed my second was a girl! Anyway when the time came, he just looked like a William, and I am so pleased I agreed because I ended up loving his name. It wasn’t that popular in the early 90’s. He has been Billy as a toddler, which I loved, then William in middle school, then he has been Will ever since Upper school. My Will is William Jack, I initially wanted Jack as his first name, still love that name too, also love Jude, Louie, George, Tom (obviously!), Ted...I just really love the old names.
I think every name on your list has been on my list at one point in time. My boy is Freddie but we considered Harry instead and Teddy but family or friends had already used them.
Love traditional names rather than the more modern ones I absolutely love William and Harry. Also like Alexander & Oscar xx I’ve also got an Isabelle xxx
I love the name Alfie and am pretty sure we'll use it when the time comes :) Alfie Houchin is cute and I think it goes well with Harry too 😊 Harry & Alfie! X
I completely agree with the friend thing! I really like the name Theo and Thea (for a girl) but my friend she has a Theo, so we won’t be using that one 😂❤️
I always wanted to call my little girl Emily, and one of my friends ended up using it before me so I'm like you, I feel like I can't use it now. She has always said she'd be more than happy for me to still use it, but for me her girl is Emily now, so I feel like it's not my baby now - it's her baby so I get it completely :) I'm due in July - don't know what we're having - and did this video as well and it was so fun! Love yours :) I love the name Bobby, it's so cute.
Love Freddie and Hudson!
These are such lovely names! What about Rory? I think its such a strong boys name, can't be shortened and goes really well with harry and houchin! :)
Does clemmie not sound a bit like clammy 😅

Those names are amazing
What? Juniper? Oh, come on! Juniper as a baby and infant, junie as a toddler and preschooler, juju in primary school, ju or june in high school and June after... it works for life! Great one though!(: and it’s on my VERY long list 😅
What about Eddie or Frankie if you like Freddie/ Teddy or Billy instead of William xx
I think Ned would go so nicely with Harry
But Linda means BEAUTIFUL in Portuguese! My friends and I will say "Linda😍" to compliment each other :-)

I love the names Flynn and Louis for a boy. Whatever you choose it will be beautiful name 😊💜
Loved this! We’re having our baby boy in September and we’re calling him Hudson 😍 xxx
My 6 year old son is demanding that if we ever have a baby girl that her name must be June! So Juniper rose to the top of my list!
😆 I get called ‘Bob’ or ‘Bobbers’ by my siblings because I had a bob hair cut when I was younger so it just stuck and I’m now 33 😆
Hi Lucy, so excited for you. I have a William, now 26! My nephew is Ernest but we call him Ernie and he is an absolute pudding!
My son is Oliver. When I was pregnant I thought people would call him Ollie and I hated that, I always use his full name and so does everyone else
I don’t think you can use the same name as a friend.. it would get confusing if you each call your child etc, how about Tate such a cute name
Harvey would go perfect with Harry
I have a son called Bobby and nobody calls him Bob more than often it’s Bobs (s on the end) which I think is really sweet ☺️ x
What about Charlie? I think it goes so well with all your family names and is a cute baby name that will also last them through to adulthood.
