blake's an excellent teacher: he's patient, encourages a lot, corrects gently, models the skills, and breaks the skills into small chunks that Jenna's ready for. everybody needs a teacher like that. and her smile when she gets it right is fabulous!
I think what I love most about these vids is the fact he talks her through everything; he doesn’t jump on his bike and undermine her by showing her how easy it is. The only time he’s on the bike is at her request. Trying to teach your partner to ride and embrace something you’re passionate about can really challenge the relationship dynamic. Blake is so great at it, and Jen is a trooper. So awesome!
Just love this couple😊 Blake all hyped and full of energy and Jen so quiet and a bit scared😁 I am so curious and can't wait to see their lil man's personality.
My boyfriend has just started teaching me so I'm LOVING Jen's videos! Please do more 🙏 such helpful tips and so nice to see someone else learning as a fully grown woman! 👍
I remember my first crash. Slightly more violent but I sat on the ground laughing my head off. Nobody told me mountain biking was a full contact sport! I new right then I was hooked!
Boarding an airplane to find that Blake is your seat mate is the equivalent of winning the lotto. Bonus if the plane is flying to Whistler for Crankworx.
Jen’s too cute 😁 Been riding with my wife and kids this summer, if you’ve never ridden much you have to literally learn everything! Brakes, gears, peddling, standing up, the lot. Good effort all, more please 👍🏻
flashbacks of my husband teaching me - being patient and celebrating the wins. Jen is doing awesome, and she is so brave agreeing to have these vids posted on GMBN.
Yay, Go Jen! you're doing really well, keep it up! I think learning mountain biking when you're not a kid is much harder, much more aware of getting hurt 😅
Dear GMBN there are a lot of Jen all around. These videos are really helpful for beginners like me. Blake, hats off buddy. Wonderful job. You're a good teacher, never gets frustrated, always joyful. Jen, keep learning. Its only through you, we can learn beginer skills. Both of you, stay blessed and stay safe.
Lovely lovely Jen. A good sport. You have struckin gold Blake. Happy life to you three. Can't wait to see your lil man shred in your videos 🤟🤟 Cheers & ride on 🍻🤙
Love watching blake show jen how to ride. Great cause I'm teaching my wife to ride trails, so it gives great reminders of the basics to teach. Can't wait to see when blake starts teaching little man to ride!
"The only air you'll be producing is the one when you're scared, and that will go on the other end" ahhahahha made me LoL at 01:20am, with wall of separation between me and 2 babies and wife sleeping xD You're the best Blake!
Hubby sent me here to pick up tips after a fall last week on gravel, I'm so glad he did, it's so nice seeing Jen start almost from scratch feeling the same way I usually do. Learning skills along with Jenna, priceless. :)
Not only is Blake a legend on the bike and hilarious to watch, but he's also a great teacher, family man and is always super positive. 10/10 The world needs more Blake's!
That moment when Blake calls Jen a goat...The sheer panic on his face... You two are great together, Can't wait for part 3 when Jen shreds a trail!!! Keep it up Jen!!!!!
Adorable couple. Really like how Blake personality is, energetic and always positive. Been working on the info from the first video, and going to work on the second video. Every one has to start from some were.

I liked this one bevore watching it, I loved the first part and I love how happy Blake is teaching :D
Well done to Jen for agreeing to take part, well done to Blake for his coaching and his infectious presenting style as always, and well done to GMBN for releasing another video around pure basics 👏👏👏 I got back on the saddle a year ago after 15 years buying a mtb for a road commute because I wanted to still use the trails near me. This is the kind of stuff that inspires a lot of people!
Loved Jen’s facial expression when she ALMOST crashed (just before her 1st tumble). My first time out my buddies almost killed me so I had to stay away from them just to learn. MTBing is so different from road cycling, but both great joys. Hey, Jen’s FABULOUS!
4yrs later... Great video and thank you Jen for coming on camera and showing other newbs that its possible! I like watching Blake whip around quite alot but I have no illusions on doing that kind of riding myself!
Blake, you and Jenn should do some more videos as people like my wife found them very helpful. The kindness in your voice because u care about your wife is super helpful to my wife and pretty sure others. 🤙🏼
"Her face is brilliant" LOL. Good one! Well Done Misses Blake! My wife will get to learn from you! ...and so do I...You guys make this look like fun and that is so perfect. My wife is scared of cycling in general although she used to cycle as a child. Plus Jen makes this look so easy.
This is great. Such a good reminder to take little victories when introducing new riders to the sport. As always Blake is entertaining and Jen is a great sport.
I love this, also learning to MTB and Jen’s reaction are exactly what I do. I’m so glad I’m not the only that’s nervous to push on with new skills. Thank you Blake and Jen x
I love that this is on the IOW where I learned to mountain bike in the 90s. Take Jen on the Tennyson Trail once she is a bit more confident, and I’d love to see Blake take on the steepest parts of Chillerton Down!
This is the best thing I have seen on UA-cam in ages. Blake I learned the deep end lesson 26 years ago with my fiancé, now wife, and she hasn’t ridden but one time since. You two are so fun to watch. Keep up the good work Jen!
This is so wonderfully wholesome guys. You're beautiful people and it's the same feel-good warmth as seeing Ashton at Whistler in seeing you both in this together. Wonderful teaching Blake and you're a lovely couple. I have just bought my first hardtail and am so grateful to the channel for all the content produced by the entire team. Would love to see more of you and Jen :).
I really like this couple love the contrast personalities... Blake is full of energy where as Jen is calm and composed personality they complement each other perfectly. Lots of love ❤️ from India.
Yep, we want more Jenna! Thanks for helping to get the wives out on the trail! Jenna has a fan in me and my wife and hope to see her sponsor a fun/easy “wife/women” ride day.
Brilliant riding Jen! Keep it up! Episode #5: Jen practices on our backyard Manual trainer. Episode #9: Jen trail rides as copilot on Martyn’s tandem enduro. Episode #23: Whistler family riding holiday with Blake and Jen! Keep doing what you do!
Man I love these videos. You're a great rider and teacher. I love the way you break it down for her to learn the skills. I love her sweet no quit demeanor. I'm a brand new mtber too, coming from a road bike, it's a whole other level of riding that in my opinion just doesn't translate. Please keep them coming.
Jen did awesome. I like when she decided to go down the hill section with the roots before you told her too. She was already naturally choosing her line!
I love this series. It reminds me just how intimidating it can be when first learning. I'm getting my girlfriend into MTB. I have to keep it slow, be patient and be very supportive. Jen you're doing great!!! Love seeing the progression!! You can see Jen getting more confident. Awesome!! Fun to watch! We're all cheering you on Jen!! Keep this series going.
I'm watching this as my partner is embarking on her very first steps on a mountain bike I've kinda followed what Blakes taught here so I'm glad about that its fun teaching others to ride its so satisfying What most beginners dont get is that a bit of speed is your best friend volition is good forward momentum is whats gonna keep you upright
Blake you are the best! I love your videos and the way you live the bike. I'm going to teach my little daughter some basic skills and this series comes in handy so thanks alot for the videos. Jenna is so cute even when she is a bit scared :) keep learning
thank you, you beautiful people. nice done, both. fun to watch, and Blake is the perfect typ of teacher ;) go on, and allways have fun und be healthy love from Stuttgart
Glad to be able to watch these videos I am just starting into mountain biking and my husband is showing me as well. Jen your doing amazing . Would like to see more videos
Well done jen you done really good for a beginner, I myself will be a beginner on the 19th of next month when I get a dirt jumper, I've never done dirt jumping but watching Blake and other tubers im really wanting to learn and myself at 45 years of age you can always teach an old dog new tricks great vid
Blake & Jen - Tokyo Skid That step by step confidence building will help her in other situations in life as well. I'd get her on something easy but flowy to get comfy with increased speeds too, and to learn pedal and riding position in turns.
Great video. That a girl Jen! My wife is new to mtb as well and you remind me of her. Blake your enthusiasm is awesome as usual and very motivating. Taking it slow is the key. My wife still only rides on double track. She went 35 years without riding a bike so teaching her to ride is a slow process but she is getting better. Great job to you both. Thanks for sharing.
Did you find these tips helpful?
Why no one reply
Yip, it's good to go back to the basics once in awhile!
yes
So good to listen to these helpful tips.
Yes they were!
Blake's "Welcome back you beautiful people!"
Is like Seth's "Today where gonna be doing something a little different but kinda the same..."
Also Sam's "Today is gonna be EPIC"
Top 3 UA-camr's right there
Bernard Kerr: Today Sports fans
haha yes it is
I love it when Blake calls me beautiful
blake's an excellent teacher: he's patient, encourages a lot, corrects gently, models the skills, and breaks the skills into small chunks that Jenna's ready for. everybody needs a teacher like that. and her smile when she gets it right is fabulous!
Yeah, but he also hooks up with his students, that's morally questionable.

Yes! 🙌
I think what I love most about these vids is the fact he talks her through everything; he doesn’t jump on his bike and undermine her by showing her how easy it is. Jen’s the best. I want to see more of her learning.
If she could get to be a real rider then me toooooo!
Just love this couple😊 Blake all hyped and full of energy and Jen so quiet and a bit scared😁 I am so curious and can't wait to see their lil man's personality.
I think he will be a wildcard I think, Fearless and wild on two wheels, but grounded and centered on his feet.
Jen is adorable! Great job, you' ll be shredding before you know it!!
Well done Jenna. It’s not easy to learn something new. Even more difficult when you have a camera in your face. Top video Blake, as usual.
Blake's face after he realizes he just called his wife a goat is priceless.

Goat Greatest of all time
What are they married? He talks to her like she is his mate from the pub.
@@jackhunter4574 Sorry I haven't been following his personal life. I was just surprised.

Deal. We’ll keep them coming
I’m in the same boat, so glad I found these videos x
Your videos with Jen are delightful. The beginner lessons are great for all new riders. Looking forward to the next video. Well done.
The teacher is extremely patient and supportive I wish all of us would have a teacher like that. Thumbs up for that.
I remember my first crash. Slightly more violent but I sat on the ground laughing my head off. Nobody told me mountain biking was a full contact sport! I new right then I was hooked!
I really love blake his the best rider in my opinion he is veryyy fun

I agree. It would be so intimidating. Her first wreck like her first step on video. Jen's a great sport! She so cute! The camera loves her!
