I just took 949 / 37 to see how far of I got. It gave me 25.658 and after that it was pretty simple but no way I would have gotten that in time without a calculator 😅
Correct that I didn't get it within the 30. I paused the video and worked it out. Didn't time myself so don't know exactly how long, but it was over 30 seconds. I didn't use a calculator, though.
Can be done in 30s. The key is that you do calculate numbers not the way they are written when they are that large. 37x25 is pretty simple. 40x25 = 1000 and you substract 75 from it [(40-37)x25]. Obv mental math is required. Then the rest is obv pretty simple to get from 925 to 949. But yeah, pretty easy for me to say as mental math is my main strength :D
My logic took me to multiplying all the small numbers together =960, minus 12 is one away. Good start, but: 8x6x5=240 (Take the 12 away here so that it can be incorporated into the x4 part of the sum) 240-12=228 228x4=912 912+37=949.
@@loganhillman7448 ah yeah thats fair I've always been good at doing it in my head but never good at writing it down and explaining in the proper way 😂
If you factor the target, you get the much beloved product of two primes: 73 x 13. But that solution is possible with these new numbers: 6 x 4 = 24 37 + 24 + 12 = 73 8 + 5 = 13 73 x 13 = 949

Brilliant.
I got nothing. I saw 37 and my brain blue screened

it's really 40 but for every 37 you multiply you remove 1 lot of 3

Same. I literally just saw "37" for the full 30 seconds and couldn't move forward
12+5+8 is 25. Times that by 37 for 925 and then multiply the 6 and 4 for 24 and add it to the 925 for 949.
I don't believe you could've gotten that in 30 seconds
Still impressive
