Nice progress made and I love that they now will have a lot more space to live and still have the open yard space and greenery to have cook/grill outs and gatherings for parties etc. Just cannot wait for it to be completely built and see their happy, joyous and smiling faces of appreciation & contentment & the Blessings that they have received. My friends and I are travellers and everytime we are on a short vacation in one of the provinces here in Philippines, we always have a drinking session at night by the beach and we also love to listen to those insects called cicadas (kuliglig). One time when we were in malamawi island in basilin (southern most part of PH if I'm not mistaken), my friends and I were having a good conversation about our great experiences we had in tawi tawi when we suddenly heard those cicadas making noises. It was cool because there were also dragon flies that served as lighting of the mango tree near our cottage plus the beautiful sounds from cicadas. That's when we decided to call those cicadas "the orchestra of nature". Miss travelling so much. Sometimes it's good to stop for awhile and appreciate those little things that we don't normally pay attention at because it really helps to get your stress away. I know you'll be back in michigan soon, the place where you live in, after you finish this house project for reche's family. You will then start to travel to other places and countries which im excited to watch too but i hope reche would start to vlog on her youtube channel. I don't mind if she will talk in tagalog as i speak the same language. It's just hard to imagine watching your vlog without reche or raymond around. I love to see those two as well and watch them everyday.

@@DustinBackpacks we have bookings going to dumaguete in March and the other is going to balabac palawan in May. I just hope everything is back to normal next year because i had 2 flights that have been cancelled this year. The first one was trip to boracay and the other one was trip to japan 😭😭😭 and yeah you guys can join us or i can join you if you have any plan of traveling in and out of the country. That would be awesome!

I don’t know if it’s just me but I really find it rude and disrespectful every time I read comments that demands for Dustin to set up a youtube account for Raymond or Reche. Dustin already does a lot and yet we still ask so much of him. I know Reche has a youtube account for those who keep asking. Reche also mentioned yesterday on the livestream that she’s gonna update Dustin on the happenings in the village once he goes back to Michigan and let Dustin do the editing on the videos that she’ll send to him and I’m really happy with that
@ Maria, I strongly agree. I cringe when I come across this comments. He already has a lot on his plate yet some tell him to do this & that, (not even a suggestion). We can also leave them alone with their relationship whatever that is. They want their own privacy. Just be happy for them✌️💕

It is the sound of insects called cicadas that hide under the leaves or cling on the branches of the trees . They make sound when the sun sets. Elders used to say that is how they express their prayers and thanks giving.

Cogon is good for feeding of cow and horses but it is also good for roofing. House won't be not to hot when you use it as roof. Lessen bills of electric bill🤭😀
The house is coming along great, love watching its progress. Can't quite understand the floorplan though, maybe it's three bedrooms? I am sure all will be revealed when the house is finished.. I love the little house they are using while building the main house, electricity and lights! I presume that will be the guest house? Lol

I taught using cogon grass 4 roofing was d perfect choice. In Batanes Island d stone houses use same grass 4 roofing but built-up in several layers to create a thick roof 4 more durability n longer shelf life... 30yrs or longer. The Adoptante's to be ancestral home is starting to have a face... n I'm pretty excited already. When done I hv d feeling it would be one of d well built dwellings... d fam deserve it, they've been 💯% supportive of Dustin's mission to help in any form n level 👌...

Cogon is more durable and last several years. It is commonly use all over the Philippines.
In our place we don’t use coconut leaves for roofing. We only use cogon. In the 60’s, our house was made of bamboo and cogon.

Mary B. Yes, because the environment has its natural ventillation. The place is not crowded with huge buildings, traffics and paved roads.
Coco leaves usually are for temporary huts....cogon or nipa used to be the phils' typical roofing material becuz of its tropical hot weather..but now most people prefer GI sheets for longer life span and more sturdy against typhoons.
Sa P.I. you make do with what you have. You dont have a Home Depot around the block plus most pinoys while poor have learned the true meaning of Paaran.

Kogon, I think sealed tightly and cooler than coconut leaves
And last longer too. just bundle and make a clamp on it using thesame grass before using each bundle spreading as a roop. this way the outcome is thick cogon roofing. it last yrs.

This covonut husk or bunot hair of the coconut they make rope and made to a nets like put into the flooring to prevent form cracks of the flooring if coconut husks become wet it make strong even dry. Very effective . If you guys can make a coconut husks to a rope them if you have a lot of rope make a nets.

Sir, you have to teach Raymund and Reche how to set up their own UA-cam channel. When you leave them and go back home we need to continue to follow their lives. You have indicated on many occasions that you intend to travel around the world in the future. You can't just let us loyal subscribers down by not preparing Reche and Raymund to continue following their lives and the lives of the other community members. We have fallen in love with this family and it is not fair to end our relationship with them. Many of us eagerly anticipate each day in the life of this wonderful family.

I just did an experiment just to see how much water I use when i take a shower. So I used a 3 gallon bucket with a tabo and most Americans use almost 16 gallons of water when they shower. That's like over 5 to 1 of water if you use tabo. Plus it brought back nice memories of the PI taking a shower with a tabo.

Our house roof before was made of cogon grass Dustin... And it lasts for years.. And it's nice beacuse it's very cool.... Cogon grass roof and combination of bamboo...
