I was a volunteer at Nene Valley Railway in the early eighties when they were filming this, Roger Moore was a bloody good laugh, always cracking jokes.
I would see both Octopussy and Never Say Never Again in the theaters. what a treat to see 2 Bond movies in 5 months. Both had beautiful women and terrific opening songs. The edge might go to Never Say Never Again. You had Barbara Carrera and Kim Bassinger.
I had the complete privilege of sitting in roger Moore's company for around 3 hours when he did a tour of England. He was a complete gentleman , very funny and sharp as a tack. He was the James bond I grew up with so for me roger was the greatest bond of all , who played 007 with a humorous twinkle in his eye. My dad took me to the pictures to see live and let die and the man with the golden gun. Roger more bond films were also great family entertainment films. A terrific and funny guy . R.I.P Rooger. The greatest bond of all .
I remember watching this Bond movie with cousins on a pirate VHS copy whilst is was on in London cinemas… now that was a flex bk in the day … thanks dad
Roger Moore is my James Bond in the same way Tom Baker is my Dr Who and no on else comes close. I like Live and Let die, View to a Kill and Octopussy in that order, all fantastic and Moore's personality is what makes it for me. Interesting to see that Ian Ogilvy was considered to be Bond, that wouls have worked for me, he was class in The Saint.
As a kid View to a Kill was my childhood Bond movie (at which time the Duran Duran song was my favorite part because I had older cousins who had just been to their concert 😂)while I was raised, excellently I may add, with Sean Connery as Bond, I really like all of the actors who play him and think they ALL bring something cool to the table. I just ❤ the character.
@@cmaden78 Haha and what did I just do?.....go and listen to the Duran Duran song again!! I really enjoyed that film, especially the Christopher Walker character, he was so cold and off the charts nuts.
Favourite scene, after Bond turns the tables on the backgammon game with Kamal Khan: "Spend the money quickly, Mr. Bond." (Implying: "Enjoy it while you're still alive" ).
This was my 2nd bond film that i watched at the cinema with my parents, I was 11. The first was For your eyes only. I was watching TJ hooker earlier which was the same year and just thinking about how great that time seemed, terrific shows on tv even repeats when they were t j hooker, knight rider, chips, starsky and hutch.
The "accidental" bicycle passing between the vehicles was no accident, as evidenced by it appearing in two different camera angles in a one-camera shoot. Note how you don't see the reverse angle camera in either direction. That's because it was shot in two takes, once from each angle, indicating the bicycle was planned all along.
Dikshit is one of many hilarious Indian names. I work for an Indian firm as a contractor and the folks I have to say names for without laughing is the majority of my work.
Don't mention that Superman III & Octopussy, released in the same year, same studio (007 Stage, Pinewood Studios), 4:48 I love fact that 1983, was the “BATTLE OF THE BOND”...
They should have gone with a more current singer to do the theme song then.Like Kim Wilde in 1983,Sheena Easton was a new name in 1981 for previous song For Your Eyes Only. And that song did very well worldwide
Please, not for that 😩 One of my favourites, too, but for totally different reasons. Anyway, Roger Moore could always be both - a (somewhat) clown and a serious spy. No one else nailed that.
In the opening scene in the hanger Bons and another guy are standing in front of an OLD magnetic tape computer. The logo on the left side of the computer is "MDS". By the time the movie was made, that computer company Mohawk Data Sciences (MDS) was out of business and these old machines were literally just dumped into the landfill or sold off for scrap.
10:25 You’ve never been to The Asian subcontinent or anywhere in the Middle East unless you met a cyclist coming down The middle of a busy road the wrong way.
This is my least favorite Bond film. I was ready to walk out of the theater during the clown scene. I liked the Sean Connery Bond movie better but it's sound track was disappointing. I would love if anyone could replace the soundtrack with EON Productions music then rerelease the movie in theaters.

Brilliant
Did you meet the gorgeous Kristina Wayborn. If you did how fortunate you were.
It's always nice to hear people are like you'd imagine 😂❤
One of my favorites from the 80s. Non-stop fun.
Saw it in the movie theater when I was 11 years old. Back when movies were movies
If one Bond can be called "the most fun" it's this one.
This is the times where seeing exotic location in a movie give you an extreme feeling of adventure, awe and mystery....
the guy on the bike who didn't know they were filming...that is so awesome..
It's one of my favourite facts of all the movies I've covered
@@rockywatchesmovies ..also the throw in the little bell ring..too funny.

Nice one. Liked the Roger Moore Bond films.
I always laugh at the speed Bond changed into a clown with perfect makeup, including tear drops and big feet in about 2 minutes.

I love the scene on the plane with Khan's henchman's reaction to being told to go outside the plane to get Bond.

The octopus was visiting the author's house in Jamaica, which inspired him to give the octopusy

I saw never say never again at the movies with a school mate! It was such a great flick!
Great video, fam
My favourite UA-cam channel 😂
Not the best of Roger Moore's Bond but it is my favorite.
Bonus fact! The video for All Time High featured Rita Coolidge at Brighton Pavilion, to make her appear to be on location in India.

I would be fired. I have some dear close friends that are Indian, and we laugh together about names all the time.
Only time I have ever seen an assassin with a buzz saw yoyo.
Never really caught on I guess.

It was partly filmed near why I live
James Brolin looks like Christoan Bale.

Roger moore is the only jamesbond i conciously knew during my preteen days... 13:25
OMG Boba Fett was in a James Bond movie
I was an extra for this movie they filmed the circus scene at the Air Force base I was stationed at met all the ladies
Awesome !!!!!!
3:30 the "backstory" is actually the original short story.
Don't forget George also appeared as JB in the return of the man from uncle also in 1983
What other Bond movie can you see him dressed as a Gorilla and a Clown!
One of my favourites 👍

Where is the 20 things I did not know? I miss 16 things.

I live next door to the house where it was written
This should have been Roger Moores last movie Bond it would have been a better farewell to the Moore era than A view to a kill .

Moneypenny assistant. Her Mother and moneypenny use to model together.
They phoned this one in
Penelope Smallbone is James Clavell's daughter.... Today I learned...
Got a soft spot for this one: my girlfriend at the time appears in the opening credits. My little claim to fame......
That is cool
What was her name?
"She broke several toes in her foot" did I hear that correctly? Is She a freak, people usually just have five or have I misheard bones
Octofanny.
: )

Why are you speaking in that ridiculous sing-song voice? 😂🤣
Brolin would have been horrid as Bond! Brolin on his best day is a horrible actor.
James Brolin would have been terrible. He isn't even British.
.... irritating bloke..
Pretty bad movie, not Moore's worst but not so good
