  • Straight outta Belgium! These are NOT off-the-shelf inserts, but rather printed for a specific tire for a specific application. Which is how they should be. We've done the 2.2, time for the 1.9!
    CULTS 3D page, contact for ReVolt there:

    Thanks for testing these sir!
    Overall very pleased with the result!
    These are SS and S (super soft and soft). You can also get them in MS and M (Medium Soft and Medium). Or even Hard...
    They are versatile in adjusting to your rigs weight and/or driving style.
    As @FaithSaraG says, we @ Re-Volt love a bit of bag and wrinkle So the tyre can grab on every available ledge.
    Realizing this should get less clearance, the fact that the forward drive is way higher means it doesn't stop the rig from going forward when bellied out.
    Contact information is up here, so please don't hesitate if you have any questions.
    A list of currently available inserts can be found in the 3D Cults link. On request we can make them for a specific tire of your choice.
    Once more, thanks to @CanyonCrawler for testing our inserts.

    Just ordered the .stl file from him. Can't wait to get these printed out for the ruptures on my Poizd T3V2. This Channel is waaaaay underrated!!!!

    • @erwinadriaensen
      @erwinadriaensen 14 днів тому +3

      Hey David. Thanks for trying these out. I have someone running them in Ruptures in a ±2.6kg rig using 2.5% infill in the front and 3% infill in the rear. I guess that will work for rigs between 5.5 and 6 lbs. If you like a lot of wrinkle go down to 2% infill in the front. If you like more firmness in the rear up it to 3.5 or 4% infill.

    • @davidconaway2830
      @davidconaway2830 14 днів тому +1

      @@erwinadriaensen Thank you for the information. With my 4.9lb rig, I see that I need less infill than the 3.5% I was planning on. Btw, I'm using 95a on the inner and 85a TPU on the outer, does that sound ok to you?

    • @erwinadriaensen
      @erwinadriaensen 14 днів тому +2

      @@davidconaway2830 Print one inner and one outer. Use like 3% infill for the outer. Go from there to see if you need softer or harder for front or rear.
      Haven't tried the 85A jet, sorry.

    I love a compliant insert. A little wrinkle in the sidewall is so satisfying.

      And these rigs aren't quite perfect for the insert/tire I tested. The inserts have already found a home in the fleet, and they work GREAT.

      I had been using fridge liner mat from a seller called Any Kitchen Stuff, which was a good thickness, but they're gone to the realm of Amazon's "currently unavailable." I've never tried any of the other Amazon brands like Dualplex, so I can't say for sure that they'll be the proper thickness. Folks have told me they've had luck in the past finding the liner in dollar stores-- I haven't found any yet, but I haven't given up hope.

      @CrawlerCanyon  14 днів тому

      Dark times indeed. But at the very least, a testamonial for the Harbor Freight generator, which was supposed to run for no more than 8 continuous hours, have it's oil changed every 24 hours of operation, and somehow ran for SEVEN STRAIGHT MONTHS

  • @stunod-RC
    @stunod-RC 14 днів тому +1

    So if we look for that Nth degree of performance, would a slightly wider insert have solved that slight off in the side hill?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  14 днів тому +1

      I think these guys were just transferring weight at a time and in a way that the inserts couldn't keep up with. The Twins are just more comfortable on a more rigid inner. I don't think the width/contour of the 3D was the issue, I think that the cross weight transfer was just more than the inner could manage. It's all a compromise.

    60% of the time it works every time…. Sorry just had to put that in there. I need to try some of those…I have some injora’s in canyon trails and I find them rather heavy…being 3D printed they would have to be a little lighter?

    • @Br0rB
      @Br0rB 14 днів тому +1

      The softer the insert, the lighter it usually is. Generally a 3D printed one is about half to two thirds the weight of the Injora silicone ones, and if made correctly, will fit and work better. My BrorB RC 1.9/4.75 inserts in soft weigh just about 39 grams, so quite a bit lighter. Going up to a medium would add roughly three grams. Meanwhile, and larger insert, for like the 2.2/5.25 Tusk LP weighs roughly 47 grams. But again, that's for a much larger tire, needing more material. As we speak, those LP inserts are on their way to the Canyon to be tested. :)

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  14 днів тому +1

      If memory serves, all in Class 2, a foam is ~15g, a 3D is ~35g, and a silicon (Injora or AMK) is ~70g.

    Nice testing but I really don't see a huge advance for the printed one.., maybe they fit better to other tires.😏

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  14 днів тому +2

      Tire fit is good, they just didn't care for the Twins. Not that perfect match. They've already found a home in the fleet, and they're doing GREAT
