RedCat has "fixed" all these issues as of my purchase 11/25/24. The u-joints are now pressed instead of grub bolted and my pinion screw is definitely thread-locked. Great machine and great video !!!!! 🙂
This video is a good example of why I subed to your channel a long time ago. I great quick fix video that is straight to the point. I still need to pull mine apart and do this. It hasnt come apart, but i want to address it before it does.
IF u don't have any locktite, u can use plastic model glue (orange & white tube. Regular for the models). Just give it a bit to dry, like building a model. Helped me in a pinch!
This is a great video so people can repair it if it happens easier. I have the Red Ascent & the screw came loose 2 times I thought I broke something so although it was a pain to get to it especially on the trail at least it was repairable. My Fusion has been good so far but my gut feeling tells me that screw is going to work it’s way out.
I got the fusion of the first batch and ran into that same issue during a long trail riding but least it happened on the way back to the car 😂 i did the rear also just to be sure it wont do it again
Funny i would have thought they would have changed that design from the original. Had it happen one time years ago on my Gen 8 when first released. I still have extra screws
Note, best to wait 24hr and let that thread locker fully cure. Also make sure no grease is on that screw, best to clean it with alcohol prior to thread locker.
This is still an issue? Mine came apart on my axe edition on the trail and I didn't notice until after the bearing went flying. I figured they would have started thread locking these by now
Unless Cow RC owns chemical plants like multinational corporations like 3M or Dow Chemical, I bet the Utter Butter is some generic marine/automotive grease with a fancy label and the RC middleman charging a 1000% premium.
@ExocagedRC @01:58 it sure looks like a lot of grease on the threads before you dipped it in loctite. Just saying grease and loctite don't mix. Have a good one.
Heavy breath to start the clip is gold
That is one sick crawler course you did a good job on it and you sure know how to crawl to good job buddy

Yep, found that out on my OG Blue Ascent when i first got it. Automatically did it to my Fusion when i got it lol…
Thats damn impressive for just wheels. I need one.
Comp ready out of the box🤷♂️👍!
Aftermarket servo on his rig too.

Love watching the problem solving issues. What is the issue and how to fix it. Big help
I went chassis mounted servo on my h10 and shortened up the front end and man did I unlock whole lot of performance, not bullying out every where.

That would be a good time to put OD gears in and get it to 30% or more.
It's a good opportunity to swap out the axles completely...it's the one thing that holds the car back😊
That new line should be called “Gatorback”
Great video. Mine did the same. I love driving the fusion and can’t really put my finger on why.
👍👍😁

Should have cleaned the grease off the screw first
that was blue threadlock

💯🤸♂️👍
clean it with alcohol gets all the grease off alot of loctite wont work if there is grease on the part
😜👍😁
Nice👍🏾🔥
Does anyone know how to reverse portal axles
The question is: Why is that pinion a two piece thing?? Sorry but that's tipicall Redcat😅
Why would they design that like that 😕 one piece pinion would have been so much better
Red all day or you might be doing it twice
It shouldn’t be that difficult to change a pinion gear I’m just saying yo
