If people don't mind hopping down to Bellevue, The Special is fantastic with great portions and prices. For the Love of Food Cafe (formerly a foodtruck), also serves some fantastic breakfast burritos, and really interesting lunch variations as well!
Hubby and I often go to Louie’s Burger Lust, 18th and Vinton, for breakfast. Their green pork chili is awesome! 🤤 It comes on the Huevos Rancheros, or you can order it a la carte too. Hubby often gets country eggs Benedict. Good food there! 👍
The Special Restaurant in Bellevue has the best chicken fried steak, hands down! I have eaten at a lot of breakfast places, and this place is one of my favorites, near the very top of my list. Everything is good! Very surprised it wasn't on this list.
Thank you for sharing. I plan on visiting soon. Shirleys looks like a winner. Any banking (financial) centers that are within walking distance of housing?
Protip: Early Bird uses Yelp for their waitlist, you can use the app to get current wait times and also schedule yourself a reminder to join the list through the app to get a table close to your desired seating time. Worst case scenario, you can join the waitlist then hang out in your car or wherever you choose instead of having to hang around the outside of the restaurant.
Note that the Saddle Creek Breakfast Club has moved to 8734 Pacific Street (68114) directly across from Westside High School. The original location was closed.
Wow! I didn’t realize that! I drive by it often through the roundabout it’s on. Too bad it’s farther from my house now. Did they keep the name, even though it’s no longer on Saddle Creek?
Very surprised The Special isn’t on the list. Probably the best breakfast/lunch value in the Omaha/Lincoln area. Been going there for 5 years now and we actually drive right past the Early Bird in Shadow Lake to get to The Special. No knock against any of the mentioned establishments in this video, but if you really want the complete local package The Special is a no brainer.
Sometimes I will go to the little restaurant inside the Family Fare grocery store on 24th and Vinton for breakfast. It's cheap, and not bad. I'll eat there before I shop and I don't buy as much then. lol
These reviews are pretty short. Don’t get a clear understanding of how good these places are. Been going to Vidlaks for many years and it’s always been a great meal. Best waitstaff in town. Another great place to eat is AJ’s just off of 90th and Fort. Food is fantastic. Place is kinda small but well worth the trip. I ordered a Hamb steak for breakfast a few times in there. One time it was different than it had been. I asked the waitress if they had changed anything and told her it was different. Next thing I know, the cook is at our table asking me how he could make it well. Very eager to accommodate the customers.
Let's add Cafe Diem to the list. Great homestyle breakfast and lunch off 96th & Portal in Papillion. And another Early Bird in shadow lake. Cinnamon roll pancakes, anyone? 😋
I have tried Lisa's three times and can't do it again. The last time there I asked for scrambled cheese eggs, I received eggs with a slice of square un melted American cheese just lying on top'.

Lemon Tree Cafe is a great place also! Pretty small inside but tables do move quick and it’s honestly great. Our two youngest loved it
You have to try Lisa's Radial Cafe sometime if you haven't already. I really miss Amato's Cafe they are permanently closed now.
Great review. Jon would approve! Well probably not...he's harsh. I'd add Louie M's on Vinton St. It's diner plus burgers. Great vibe & mix of people
Thanks Fred!
We love Wheatfields and Farm House Cafe, too.
Vidlaks is my go-to place when I visit omaha

Shirley’s is one of my favorites for comfort food 😊
Lisa's Radial is a nice place, highly recommend
Thanks for comment.
Lisa's is an outstanding place
I think another good one is Aj’s cafe
@@brantferguson3248 Thanks!

You are right! I should have included Louie's on the list. Thanks for the comment.

I will have to explore this place. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks, David! I live just south of the Blackstone District. I will have to try the Early Bird some morning.
@@WarDog793 You are welcome. Thanks for the comment.
Keystone Cafe is excellent!
I will have to give the Keystone Cafe a try. I have never been there. Thanks for the comment.
Shirley's diner.
Thank you for sharing. I plan on visiting soon. Shirleys looks like a winner. Any banking (financial) centers that are within walking distance of housing?
Absolutely! Plenty of spots across the city have nearby banking centers. Thanks for the comment.
I’ve been to Lisa’s, Vidlaks, Shirley’s and early bird. Need to try Harold’s and the breakfast club!

@@kelariusable Thank you!
I always enjoyed the Leavenworth cafe. Wonder if it's still open.
Unfortunately, it has closed.

Thanks!
seriously?

It’s still the Saddle Creek Breakfast Club.
@@whherron Thanks; I’m guessing their new location is larger. The original is pretty small, and there was often a wait to sit down.
I'm out in Elkhorn and yall got to try Rise and Shine on 204th block or 2 south of Wirt st. 🔥

Good tip!
Jojos Diner in Benson is good too!
Thank you for the update and yes I'm skinny but I love to eat
Ricardo, you are in the right spot! Thanks for the comment!
I miss the Leavenworth cafe , they had great breakfast😢
I never had the opportunity to dine there, I have heard they did have some good food. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
I live nearby there and man, I miss it. Just the smell inside, was so good.
@@DavidMatneynot just “good” it was by far the best breakfast food in the state. Nothing compared.
@@ryane6545 nah, not the BEST. it was predictable. nostalgic. it fit the bill. But the best, it was not.

Would also recommend Jojo's Diner in Benson or 132nd and Maple. Good Evans on Pacific just west 72nd is good too.

Best fishing spot? Came here from Florida and I miss it.
@thebeddoctor4273 I am spoiled we fished Ottertail Lake in MN when I was a kid. I feel your pain! Thanks for the comment.
Yum
how did nitehawks miss the list ..Best Biskets & Gravy in town
the Nitehawk has the best chunky hashbrowns
I will have to add them to my list! Thanks for the comment.
Yooooo that place is BOMB

Also a new good place called Lemontree
Cool. Thanks for the comment.
does anyone know 11-Worth cafe, does that just close or relocated?
Closed
Loved that place! You can thank the woke liberal mob for it's closure.
Where was that Rueben and onion rings from?
Crescent Moon Ale House in the Blackstone District, across the street from the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel. (3578 Farnam St)
That Kimpton Hotel is the former Blackstone Hotel, where the Reuben sandwich was invented.
The SCB is closed now.😢
I heard they relocated to 8734 Pacific St in Countryside Village.
You gotta try La Peep. So good!
Breakfast is awesume, but alas I disagree with the time of day that it is served.
Thanks for the comment.
I often have bacon, eggs, and burger for dinner. You can cook it any time of day. 👍
11worth :(
Shirley's Diner features a "chicken fried steak"... news flash: it's not a traditional beef cutlet, it's PORK!
Not kidding, it's awful!!!!
I've lived in Omaha and go there often. These are not necessarily the best breakfast in Omaha. I have tried them, and I'm wasn't that impressed!
